___ LIBERALISM REIGNS SUPREME ___

War Crimes, as Defined by Leftists

or

WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT CHEMICAL WEAPONS?

Apparently, it’s AOK
To mow ‘em down with bullets,
But don’t dare try to kill ‘em off
By poisoning their pullets.

It’s all right too when bombs
Rain from aloft or on the level,
But when you kill with poison gas,
You’re in league with the Devil.

Lock ‘em in a building,
Then burn it to the ground.
By judges at The Hague
You’ll not be guilty found.

Go drag them from their cells
Into a courtyard to be shot.
The World Court will not chide you,
Nor tell you “Thou shalt not.”

Take mothers, babies, toddlers ––
Grandmas –– anyone who thrives,
Then hack them with machetes
And bayonets to end their lives.

Rape and loot and strangle,
Garrote or stab at will ––
Of you The World Community,
I promise, won’t think ill.

Set ‘em loose in wood or field,
Then hunt ‘em down like game;
Let half-dead bodies lie unhealed.
You won’t lose your good name.

Rob and cripple, maim at will ––
Dislocate their joints.
Multiculturalists will know
You must have your good points.

Gouge their eyes out, slit each tongue.
Sodomize, impale their young.
Club ‘em down, then crush with tractors.
Brussels won’t call you bad actors.

BUT, urinate upon the corpse
Who tortured your best buddy,
And you’ll be tossed in the stockade
With nose broken and bloody.

And should you dare to wipe yourself
With leaves from the the Koran,
‘Tis YOU The World Community
Will call BARBARIAN!

  6. Love the poetry. Oh, so true.

By the way, have you ever perused Goya's 'Los Caprichos'?

It is a set of his etchings, each one accompanied by a few lines of biting satire.

He was critiquing early 19th century Spain, but much of it fits our society today.

  9. Hello, Kurt. Goya's work has always "spoken" to me, even though his subject matter is rarely pleasant. I remember so well reading in a book of Art Reproductions at my aunt's about Goya's portrait of The Duchess of Alba, which I'm sure you know. The text said, "despite decking herself out in her finest silks and satins, Goya still managed to portray the Duchess as a woman of harsh and biting character."

I've always wondered if she knew what he really thought of her? Vain, selfish, unfeeling people are often remarkably opaque.

I think you must know a great deal more about Goya than I, Kurt, but I'd be glad to learn more. Thank you for the question.

I'm glad you appreciate the piece, but it isn't "poetry," it is "verse."

Now "verse" CAN be poetry, but not unless it's given to lyrical, fanciful, romantic, or mystical modes of expression.

When the subject is satirical, comical or didactic, it is better to call it verse.

  14. America would be heaven, but for the presence of a core of stubborn "classical liberals" (aka - "conservatives"). There can be little progress until progressives breed or "legalize immigrants" sufficiently to form a permanent majority. If only America could, like Europe, legalize sufficient Third World former colonial aliens to citizrmdjip, every day could feature a gay pride Saturnalia event.

That could be debated, but there was no attempt to make such a point in the verse, so your gratuitous observation is IRRELEVANT.

  26. Barack Obama is the most divisive president in a half century. The partisan gap in approval rating between Republicans and Democrats is the largest it has been in decades. The gap is 61% now; just forty years ago, in 1969, the partisan gap regarding Richard Nixon’s performance at the same time in his presidency was a mere 29%. The gap has increased for every president since, with only two exceptions (Carter and George H.W. Bush).

The trend towards divisiveness seems to have started with Reagan. The gap with Nixon was 29%; the gap with Carter was 25%. When Reagan was elected, the partisan approval gap shot up to 46%. Reagan inspired many people, and established the foundation for modern conservatism (small government, less regulation, strong military). He was also the antithesis of modern liberalism. This meant that nearly all liberals disapproved of him, while virtually the entire conservative movement gave him their support.

Reagan forced the Republican party to the right, which widened the ideological gap between the two parties. (Today, a moderate like Nelson Rockefeller would have no shot at all at the Republican nomination). Politics became more polarized, and political strategists used that to their candidate’s advantage.

Political attacks became more personal—Republicans loathed the very idea of Bill Clinton, seeing him as a sort of Machiavellian genius for his talent in dodging the Monica Lewinsky scandal, while liberals considered Bush a mad dictator who had stolen the election.

During the most recent election, many Democrats considered John McCain a warmongering, far right extremist (and if there is anything John McCain is not, it is an extremist), while many conservatives still consider Barack Obama a Muslim, terrorist supporting snake in the grass.

  27. dear republicans,
How proud you must be feeling today about your childish tweets to say good riddance to a great American who served his country with honor. The list of his accomplishments is long and impressive, but you wouldn't know anything about long impressive lists of accomplishments....His love for country is evident in every move he made whether it be civil rights, voting rights, criminal justice....His passion, compassion, and courage is extraordinary...but what do you know about compassion and courage?....
You have vilified this good man throughout the years, your relentless attacks, your attempts to smear his reputation, none of it put a blemish on his record. It will be Eric Holder and Barack Obama in the history books, side by side, as two of the great leaders, not YOU republicans, you repulsive, repugnant, irrelevant haters.....
So carry on with your little tweets, your 10% brainwashed base thinks they are funny, the rest of us can't wait to vote you out of existence.

    Fuck you and goodby,
    Sue Welch

  28. Autocracy is certainly undesirable in the president of what-is-supposed-to-be a representative republic, but there doesn't seem to be any other way to run a privately owned blog or website unless one is either a masochist, or wishes to court pandemonium.

When uninvited guests barge in and behave like marauding barbarians, they deserve whatever ill befalls them.

Sometimes, however, we keep them around for a limited time to prove assertions we've made against the dreary, impertinent, mocking, wrongheaded types they eloquently represent.

There's much to be learned from the occasional HORRIBLE EXAMPLE.

  33. With too much blood and too little brain, these two
may run mad; but, if with too much brain and too
little blood they do, I'll be a curer of madmen.
Here's Agamemnon, an honest fellow enough and one
that loves quails; but he has not so much brain as
earwax: and the goodly transformation of Jupiter
there, his brother, the bull,--the primitive statue,
and oblique memorial of cuckolds; a thrifty
shoeing-horn in a chain, hanging at his brother's
leg,--to what form but that he is, should wit larded
with malice and malice forced with wit turn him to?
To an ass, were nothing; he is both ass and ox: to
an ox, were nothing; he is both ox and ass. To be a
    dog, a mule, a cat, a fitchew, a toad, a lizard, an
owl, a puttock, or a herring without a roe, I would
not care; but to be Menelaus, I would conspire
against destiny. Ask me not, what I would be, if I
were not Thersites; for I care not to be the louse
of a lazar, so I were not Menelaus! Hey-day!
    spirits and fires!
