To Thanksgiving

This holiday is often overlooked
One feels, because it doesn’t generate
The flow of cash, the airlines overbooked,
Hysteria at fear of being late.
A humble, homey, family-style affair,
No supernatural glamour European
Kicks Concupiscence awake to dare
Sobriety to drink and make a scene.
Giving thanks for what one has is not
In fashion in this Age of Gimmemore.
Virtue, quaintly comical, has got
Inhibited. It fears to be a bore.
Nothing satisfies, however wild, like
Giving thanks for home in manner childlike.

~ FreeThinke, The Sandpiper, Autumn, 1996

For once I’ll keep it simple. This turkey’s festive plumage says it all.

Here he is,
Our New President
Here he is, our ideal
The dreams of a million men
Who are more than pretty
Come true in our Capital City
We're sure he'll turn out to be
The King of Maganimity

Here he is,
Our New President
Here he is, our ideal
With so much charm
He’ll take DeeCee by storm
With his tall, imposing
Face and Form
And Free he is
Treading the Sea he is
Mighty as could be he is
OUR NEW PRESIDENT

Do you think the First Amendment should protect LIARS and allow the LIES they tell to be REPEATED and MAGNIFIED endlessly as a deliberate matter of policy in the ENEMEDIA?

Do you believe any fanciful statement or exaggeration to be a LIE, and that ALL such remarks should be given EQUAL WEIGHT with Libel, Slander, and dark Deception that have the capacity to poison young minds, pollute our culture, and endanger our national security?

Has she been punished enough?

?

What do you think needs to be done for all those who will lose the health insurance they recently gained, if Obamacare is repealed?

Many of those people suffer from cancer and other chronic debilitating diseases.

Do you think they should just be ignored and allowed to live in desperation and die in agony, just because they’ve had
bad luck?

?
The quality of mercy is not strain’d,
It droppeth, as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice bless'd;
It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes:
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown;
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway,
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice. Therefore, [you],
Though justice be thy plea, consider this—
That in the course of justice, none of us
Should see salvation: we do pray for mercy;
And that same prayer, doth teach us all to render
The deeds of mercy. I have spoke thus much,
To mitigate the justice of thy plea,
Which if thou follow, this strict court of Venice
Must needs give sentence 'gainst the merchant there.

~ Shakespeare - The Merchant of Venice

Each of These Pictures Ought to be Worth
Several Thousand Words

_____ HILLARY'S LAMENT _____

My party's over, it's time to call it a day
They've pricked and burst my balloon
And taken the moon away
It's time to wind up the masquerade
They've made my mind up:
The piper must be paid

My party's over, the candles flicker and die
I screamed and dreamed through each night
It seemed oh-so right as I told each lie.
Now I must wake up, my dream must end,
Remove the makeup, my party's over
I now am empty with nothing to spend .

FACE it. I am KAPUT!

Beethoven's Fifth Symphony presented here in its entirety in a stunning new performance with Gustavo Dudamel conducting, was used by the Allied Forces during World War Two as a symbol of Courage, Faith, Strength, Dignity, Perseverance, Grace under Pressure and Triumph over Adversity.  There could be no better time than now to draw inspiration from this exhilarating, ennobling, spine-stiffening work again.

Do you want HIM?

Or do you want HER?

Does Anyone Have A Bead
On Reality?

COMMON SENSE POLITICAL
PHILOSOPHY in FOUR PARTS

I

A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men.

B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women.

C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies.

D. In three generations, there will be no Democrats.

I love it when a plan comes together; don’t you?

II

Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats, yet THEY REMAIN POOR.

III

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's Initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."

~ Abraham Lincoln

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him had better take a much closer look at the American Indian."

~ Henry Ford
