The Wit and Wisdom
of ANN COULTER
Nemesis of Leftists

Part I of a New Series

Random Quotes from Miss Coulter's Work

'Liberals are always frightened [and never fail to act offended] by diversity of opinion. They think a fair way to decide passionately contested issues is for the federal government to issue uncompromising edicts giving liberals everything they want, and then to suppress all criticism of the edicts. The fascistic order, completely supplanting all democratic processes, is then known as a victory for "choice." As the Grand Inquisitor said in The Brothers Karamazov: "They have vanquished freedom and have done so to make men happy."'

'That's what the Supreme Court did in Roe vs. Wade, and has repeatedly done in periodic codicils to its original edict. ... In Stenberg vs. Carhart, the court expanded the apocryphal abortion right to an all-new right to stick a fork in the head of a half-born baby. The first lunacy keeps being rewritten to give abortion enthusiasts everything they could possibly want.'

'A word to those of you out there who have yet to be offended by something I have said: Please be patient. I am working as fast as I can.'

  1. As brilliant as Coulter can be, she can also be bizarre. She is a very flawed pundit. This is why conservatives are learning to Never Trust Ann Coulter – at ANY Age, at www.coulterwatch.com/never.pdf.

    1. Well, I trust her, I've always believed that she is one of the few around who is not afraid to tell it like it is. She don't hold bCk for no one or nothing. And I applaud her for that. She also makes the Libs squirm ..

  2. Yeah, she's a regular Hannah Arendt.

Ann Coulter, what passes for informed comment of the fringe right these days.

  3. Somehow I detect in Ann Coulter a contrived politics, more attention seeking than any desire to enlighten, more a Punch and Judy show of conflict politics. Likely a highly lucrative area that she's staked out, and quite likely she's doing it more for the money than for any moral stance on the issues.

Not as phony as William F. Buckley and more fast on her feet than a stooge and stiff like WFB, IMHO.

  4. I'd choose Delphine Keilsheimer over Ann Coulter simply because Coulter never strays from politics. The subjects of conversation below by Mrs. Keilsheimer transcend politics and trump politics.

  5. You are probably at least partly right about Ann, Waylon. There's no doubt she's playing a character part, and her character is drawn with broad brush -- so outrageous at times it borders on farce,

HOWEVER, her observations about liberals are bang on. She tells the truth. Whether her motives are partly self serving or not, truth telling is in the political arena is a rare treat.

I love the way she ruthlessly punctures the puffed up arrogance and self righteous postures of the left with their fake outrage, incessant captiousness and blatant hypocrisy.

This was the first of a six-part series. I thought it was high time someone on the right showed Ann a modicum of gratitude.

Not sure why you detest Buckley so, unless it's because he kowtowed to the you-know-who's, and threw the estimable Joseph Sobran to the wolves. I didn't like that either, but sometimes one must act the part of a son of a bitch in order to stay in business when you-know-who controls both purse strings and policy.

If i hadn't been for Buckley, Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, and a few lesser figures of a similar disposition, the conservative point of view would have remained choked off, sealed away from public view, and might have wound up garroted and buried in an unmarked grave 'neath the tundra in some place like Siberia -- or Baffin Island.

  6. Coulter is a wonderful gadfly.

Sometimes, I find her too acerbic and even bizarre. Other times, she is wittily convincing.

Let us remember that hyperbole is one of the important elements of satire. Coulter knows how to use hyperbole to make her point.

  7. Thank you, AOW. You got the point, and articulated it very well.

When Ann first appeared on TV about twenty years ago -- she frankly repelled me. I still don't really like her style, which at times resembles that of a spoiled second-grader having a tantrum, because someone snatched her candy bar at recess, BUT I can only see irrefutable logic in most of the points she makes. Her approach may be as subtle and refined as wielding a sledgehammer in a china shop, BUT in the main she tells the TRUTH.

Unfortunately, the truth is often unpalatable, indigestible and downright sickening. Is it any wonder that most seem to shun it like the plague?

  8. FT,
    I love satire!

Let us also remember that Coulter is an attorney. She knows how to make a case and how to push buttons, too.

  9. Oh yes, AOW, and whether looks the part or not, she is ALSO a Constitutional Scholar. No shortage of gray matter there.

  10. Very superfluous yet entertaining. Short on wit with ample dumps of hyperpole. A republican shill with points, however, many remain searching to find them.Endearing yet cantankerous.

She does make a scarecrow look attractive and plump though.
