A Change of Pace
Think of something gentle
Think of something kind
Dwell today on something not designed
To make you lose your mind.
Think of something pretty
Think of something soft
Take time away each day from Microsoft
And soar aloft
Where Spirit reigns in Bliss
Away from all the Madness
Where Kindness ever dissipates the Sadness
In the Realm of Gladness

A nice sentiment. I wish it were possible
ReplyDeleteOf course it's possible, Miniver, but only on the personal level. Each of us must seek salvation (Fulfillment is the better word, I would insist) as INDIVIDUALS. We can't control the world, but we CAN control the way we respond to it.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it Our Jesus who said, "If you want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, you must first become as a little child?"
Think about what that might mean in practical terms.
Well, the storm slid south and we didn't get a flake and the warming trend seems ready to break through (knock wood). So it isn't tough to think pleasant thoughts today.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, a British DVD company issued Boris Barnet's classic Soviet silent era comedy, By the Bluest of Seas and it arrived this morning. So I'll watch it tonight with anticipation.
Yes, Mr. FreeThinke, but yet, alas, we were born too late.
ReplyDeleteYes. I have made a conscious effort to stop looking for dark clouds when I see silver linings.
ReplyDeleteHoping you are well, my friend!

Ah FreeThinke, so very well said!!
ReplyDeleteI make a conscience effort everyday to do this, sometimes succeeding beautifully, sometimes failing, but always, everyday, making the attempt.
Life is too short not to.
First, I must say that the graphic that accompanies this bit of verse is wonderful. I prefer kitties, but I like teddy bears too.
ReplyDeleteI've had an OUTSTANDING two days (Wednesday and Thursday) -- not only because I've been mostly absent from the web but also because (1) the weather here has finally become something to rejoice over and (2) a few wonderful occurrences at work.
FINALLY! SOME GOOD NEWS ON THE WORK FRONT!
My supervisor's son's SAT scores are in: 800 in Critical reading, 790 in Writing, and 730 in Math. First time that this young man has ever taken the SAT, too. This snippet of good news is merely one wonderful thing that happened this week on my work front.
And here's another thing...The spring songbirds have arrived. We may need an ark with all the rain in the forecast for the next two days, but we're finally able to get out of the house without freezing our asses off.
I just took at look at my side yard. THE DAFFODILS ARE IN BLOOM!
