Third Post Today. Please scroll down and read them all.

HEADLINES from LUCIANNE.com

An over-coached Obama makes for an
unpleasant evening.

Some people react badly when cornered.

Style may have saved his campaign for a
nano-second but rough times ahead.

There's a great deal of complaining about Crowley this a.m.

The "L" word comes up, O goes bat-guano with
words that will haunt.

Cringe Worthy Crowley: In case you missed, here's what
the uproar over Candy Crowley is all about

A surprise endorsement from a very liberal New York paper.

  1. I'm trying to figure out why Leyland pulled Verlander with 2 out in the 9th.

  2. Obama was his usual prickly, peevish, scolding self.

Romney looked more presidential, and people rate him higher on economic issues. Looks like this debate did not change the pro-Romney dynamic.

  3. I'm trying to figure out why the game of baseball limits regular play to nine innings? Wouldn't twelve be a better number?

  4. Thank you, Silver!

The rest of you STAY RELEVANT, ya hear? ;-)

  5. That's an interesting question, Farmer.

    Why nine? What's the history?
    Thanks for bringing that up.

  6. Oh YES! And why are there only 24 hours in a day and 52 weeks in every year?

We must CHANGE that. We just MUST. It's OUTMODED. It's OPPRESSIVE. It's UNFAIR.

And come to think of it why should the sky be BLUE?

Why not RED? - GREEN? - YELLOW? - PURPLE?

The color of the sky MUST be CHANGED. It's BORING

AND while I'm at it, why not change God's name to DAMMIT? Every one calls Him that anyway.

    GET WITH THE TIMES.

    CHANGE EVERYTHING.

Why should men have penises and girls have vaginas? WHY? It's STUPID.

Thank how much more convenient it would be if everyone had BOTH.

THEN WE COULD ALL GO FUCK OURSELVES.

    WOOPEEEEEEEEEEE!

  7. FJ,
9 = 3 squared (3 being the number of outs allowed per team per inning, of course)

A baseball diamond is actually a square.

I have no basis for hypothesizing the above.

Useless FYI....Yesterday in middle school, the poem we read aloud was "Casey at the Bat." Unfortunately, all the students know more about football than about baseball, so I had to explain a lot about baseball so that students could understand the poem. **sigh**

  8. Silverfiddle is right. Romney came off as more Presidential.

BTW, how many times did Obama jump up and leave behind an empty chair? I wish that I knew how to PhotoShop that idea!

  9. FT,
LOL to your comment of 11:31 AM!

Mr. AOW says, "If I had both, I'd be dead by now."

  10. well, thanks, AOW, I'm sure you realized I was just satirizing the way lestists tend to respond to life.

Without thinking it through they always seem to want to CHANGE everything. NEVER accepting what comes on its own terms is a hallmark of the Marxist-Socialist-Progressive-Liberal-Collectivist-Interventionist mentality.

A cold-hearted desire to BOSS society by generating then catering to fervid ANXIETY, DISCONTENT and ANGER are the defining hallmarks of their collective character.

Thank you for seeing the humor fully intended in an admittedly vulgar quip.

  11. As for Robert W. Service, AOW, had I been you I would have chosen the one about "Dangerous Dan MacGrew" (sp?) and "The Lady That's Known As Lou" whooping it up with the boys in the Malamute Saloon. For some reason I like that one better than Casey at the Bat.

By the way, do you remember Margaret Rutherford reciting that poem in one of the movies she made as Miss Marple back in the sixties? It was hilarious, but at the same time truly WONDERFUL.

Older people used to have a great deal of SPIRIT and exhibit so much CHARACTER. Somehow, I can't imagine any of the young, whey-faced imbeciles and pseudo-intellectuals prominent today will ever develop along such lines.

But then, strong, sharply-defined opinions and determination to shape one's own destiny have always been in short supply, I suppose.

I know I wouldn't want to trade place with any of the early colonists and later pioneers -- or even my grandparents who came here as penniless immigrants traveling in steerage.

    Talk about GUTS!

They had 'em. I doubt if we do -- at least to that great an extent.

We've probably been spoiled by our own success.

  12. Hey! shame on you all! No one noticed I left out the "H" in WHOOPEE.

    Gotta watch me.

    I'm always laying traps. }:-)>

  13. If anybody's interested, I found an audio clip on YouTube of Margaret Rutherford reciting The Shooting of Dan McGrew, as it is properly called, accompanied by a "virtual movie."

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47OFxGsSYfM

Too bad the entire clip from the 1964 film Murder Most Foul isn't available. You really must SEE Miss Rutherford in action to get the full effect.
