Baracula! Sucking the life's blood from our nation

PRESIDENT DEMANDS MORE NEXT YEAR...

UPDATE:

Late Breaking News!
The Senate approved a last-minute deal to avert the feared fiscal cliff early Tuesday. The Senate package would put off budget cuts for two months.
It would preserve Bush-era income tax cuts for individuals earning less than $400,000 or couples earning less than $450,000. The measure now goes to the House. (CNN)

  1. Now we FINALLY have definition of the Democrats idea of a "balanced" approach to the Budget.... 40:1 tax increases over spending cuts. The power of rhetoric never ceases to amaze.

  2. As a fiscal conservative I can't help but notice a certain irony in he rEpublican charade(s) over the past 12 years or thereabouts.

  3. It's all kabuki.

They are arguing over one trillion in taxes and one trillion in cuts over the next 10 years.

Our total debt over that time will be more than 10 trillion.

They are trimming toenails when they should be amputating the gangrenous limb.

  4. Each of the headlines should be linked to an article. Each one of the articles is as depressing and infuriating as the rest.

SilverFiddle is right. He calls it Kabuki. I usually call it Punch & Judy. Same idea!

Whatever it is, it's a farce, and it never seems to work to ANYONE'S benefit, except -- guess who?

The legislators, themselves, the International Bankers, the Captains of Industry and the Owners and Suppliers of Raw Materials.

We KNOW this, yet we seem unable to DO anything to change or improve it.

We actually WENT OVER the CLIFF last night.

    WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I guess it takes a while for the pain from all those broken bones to set in, eh?

Or maybe I have a CONCUSSION and nothing's registering anymore -- ya think?

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There's a measure of comfort in knowing we have no place left to go but up.

  5. An audience cheered the tax hike on the rich? Idiots!

I'm reminded of First They Came. A similar principle applies to taxation because government in general has never found a tax that it didn't like. Once a tax is imposed, it grows and grows -- like a cancer.

WE THE PEOPLE, if anyone cares to use that term, are powerless. THAT is the reality!

Georgetown Law professor: Scrap ‘archaic, idiosyncratic and downright evil’ Constitution

With hours to go before nation heads off the fiscal cliff, Georgetown Law professor Louis Michael Seidman writes that the time has come to scrap the Constitution.

In an op-ed published in the New York Times Monday, Seidman, a constitutional law professor, claimed that the nation’s foundational document is the real impediment to progress and solutions to America’s troubles.

“As the nation teeters at the edge of fiscal chaos, observers are reaching the conclusion that the American system of government is broken,” Seidman wrote. “But almost no one blames the culprit: our insistence on obedience to the Constitution, with all its archaic, idiosyncratic and downright evil provisions.”

According to Seidman, the country’s insistence that it maintain the will of a centuries-old document “has saddled us with a dysfunctional political system, kept us from debating the merits of divisive issues and inflamed our public.”...

  8. RR, all well and good, Inagree with you, but don't you think your words belong on the preceding thread -- the one that featured Her Heinous?

  10. Happy New Years to our troops! Happy New Year to all Anti-Tax Conservatives. Say No to Tax-Increase Deal. And to you Libs, Dems. Progressives, and whatnot's, you put us here, and you didn't worry about ME, so I'm not going to worry about you! .. ...
Well onward and upward folks! Good luck in 2013 joining together to survive the Obama administration and the misery he has and he's bound to continue to give us all. Lets hope that we can survive and look forward in ridding America of these scum and crud that are called Liberals and progressives that put him in office. If these is one thing that's for sure, there isn't any shortage of fools in this great country of ours.
