What are your thoughts concerning the possibilities there might be in this week's Republican National Convention?

Are you more concerned about the much-touted threat of murderous attacks on the police, the promise by professional troublemakers such as Malik “Zulu” Shabazz of blocking highways, rioting in the streets, etc., or is the content and substance of the party Platform
uppermost in your mind?

What do you think of the machinations of the stubborn Never Trump element in the GOP determined to thwart Donald Trump’s nomination on the convention floor? Have they any chance of prevailing, and if so,
who would be their nominee?

    1. Actually, they call it KRANKHEIT, [I believe that was dear Uncle Walter's name before it got anglicized or Americanized, if you prefer] but no matter. Your analysis is probably all too correct.

Our hope lies in the eventual REJECTION by a weary, strife-torn public of the ENEMEDIA ESTABLISHMENT that has been leading America down the Garden Path for many decades.

Vanquishing the ENEMEDIA Power Bloc should be the primary objective of every thinking, patriotic American.

    Trump Is Their Nominee

People who write and say hate about Trump are playing in to Trump's hands. He wants division. He wants you to enhance the message he has. Trump and Clinton are tied in the national polls. If Trump is so bad, where is the condemnation for the American people who voted?

It seems those who hate Trump so much are too cowardly to call American voters the same scum like words they use about Trump.

Trump is the choice of 40% of the American people, not just 45% of Republicans. Clinton is the choice of 55% of Democrats, but still only 40% of Americans nationally.

These haters on the left even attacked Sanders whose only crime was to try and win the nomination of the Democratic party. Seems the Clinton supporters use hate against anyone challenging their candidate. But it's the American people casting the votes to make Trump a front runner.

It's not the Trump supporters who started the violence in the streets. It's not Trump supporters who are killing our cops. That violence is being done by forces on the left. So who are the scum that earn our condemnation?

Those whose ideas are repugnant, or those whose ideas drive people to violence? Either way it's hate driving this election and our decision on who to vote for.

I'm not joining that hate. I don't write hate about either Trump, or Clinton. I don't post silly pictures, cartoons, or videos that cast candidates as Hitler, or other evil killers. I do write about what I think is a good, or bad course for America and its politics. And hate is not a basis for voting, or not voting for anyone.

But you go ahead and try to convince people who to vote for based on hate and just add to the already vitriolic atmosphere. That will help. That will solve our problems - NOT.

What some would insist constitutes "hate," is often intended as tongue-in-cheek humor, burlesque, lampoon or satire –– a time-honored tradition in American politics since our inception as a sovereign nation.

It's cold comfort to be morally certain the same –– or worse –– will hold trueat the Democratic Convention.

    1. Thank you. I read it, and would have pasted in a truncated version, but it proved to be an electronic impossibility. The Weekly Standard has been o]n my sh-tlist, because of Bill Kristol's idiotic attempt to discredit Donald Trump. Like it or not Donald is THE MAN.

People resent him because he is TOUGH and has real GUTS and isn't afraid of anyone or a thing. I also see beyond his brash facade that he –– unlike his rotten opponents on the Left –– is basically decent, good-hearted person. I like his grown children from what I've seen of them so far.

Frankly, I can't think of a single reason for his making this run other than being motivated by a strong belief that our country has been gravely imperiled by the malice and stupidity of previous administrations, he thinks he's the right man to get things up and running again.

I hope I'm right, but even if not, I'd rather see Trump fail, than see that venal harridan derive any more ill-gotten gains from yet-another undeserved, unwarranted term in office.

  8. Well FT, so much for your conservative freedom of speech . I guess that don't apply if someone like myself is a member of the opposing party, but I'll give it another try,
I voted for Hillaryin the primary last time around as well. It’s getting difficult to remember these seven years or more. But if I am recalling this correctly, Obama and Hillary were running a close heat in several contested states. Some states were winner-take-all, others split up their delegates. But before every vote and every state could be completely accounted for, there was sort of a caucus coup d’etat led by our own Jimmy Carter where several delegates from across the nation spontaneously pledged their allegiance to Senator Obama. Hillary was pushed out by the democratic old boys network.
The PUMAs were devastated. I tried to comfort some of them that I was acquainted with, because I knew that Hillary would bide her time and run again, but they wouldn’t hear it. I just wonder if she will ever have that exciting momentum again that she had in 2008. I don’t really see anyone blogging about Hillary that much. I think it’s understood that most liberals support her even if we do like Sanders, or maybe the other way around for some people.
I just wonder if she ever really can attain the highest office in the land given the climate of irrational hatred of both Clintons that people like yourself and the the right-wing propaganda machine has generated almost non-stop ever since Bill took office twenty-two years ago.

Last nights outraougoods activities at that hate fest including Melania Trump's so called speech. This turns this night into a catastrophe. This is a plagiarized speech, hands down, game, set, match on that. What an outrageous disservice to Melania Trump by the speech writers on that campaign. Nicole Wallace talked earlier today about the fact that the Trump campaign such as it is is not configured like a normal political campaign. And maybe you don't need to be configured like a normal campaign. We know tonight, as you watch the incongruity between the speeches, the lack of a theme, the lack of a connection, the day starting off with the targeting and attacking the Ohio governor, right through the end of the program. Hamilton on Broadway is a great show, a great production, no one leaves it early. Tonight, in the middle of a show, and be clear, this is a show, a lot of people left it early. This is not a good first night, and now you have brought scandal to a prospective First Lady in the form of her convention speech. Just an outrageous incompetence and disservice to her by that campaign. If this frost night was an indication of what's to come, I'm going to watch some movies on DVD's and enjoy myself. Maybe order s Pizza. Why put myself through this misery ?

Of course political rhetoric is so fraught with platitudes, shibboleths, stock phrases and worn out clichés it would be astonishing if anyone in public life ever DID present something wholly original.

It was the polished, cultivated, utterly charming and beguiling MANNER in which Mrs.Trump presented her speech that set it apart. Its almost as if the words, themselves, didn't matter all that much.

It is DISGUSTING the way our enemedia culture of incessant Fault-finding, Scab-picking, Defamation and Denigration thrives as it surely erodes and hoses away the public's faith in our country while implying that anyone ambitious enough to seek public office must categorically be considered no damned good from the moment he or she arrives on the scene.
