For those riddled with anxiety over the deeds and ultimate fate of Hillary Rodham Clinton take comfort please from Holy Writ

Psalm 94 (KJV)

God Is the Strength of His People

O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs; O God, to whom vengeance belongs, show yourself.

Lift up yourself, you judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

They break in pieces your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Understand, you senseless among the people: and you fools, when will you be wise?

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

He that chastises the nations, shall he not correct? he that teaches man knowledge, shall he not know?

The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Blessed is the man whom you chasten, O LORD, and teach him out of your law;

That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

When I said, My foot slips; your mercy, O LORD, held me up.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me your comforts delight my soul.

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by a law?

They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

But the LORD is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

  3. So Frauline Hillary was "cleared" of wrong doings in that email scam. And now she is free and clear to continue her cornball rhetoric , and her lies. Including the scam about the Clinton foundation yadda…yadda…yadda…

In short we are about to put another fool and lunatic in the Oval Office.
Will this country ever learn, before we self distruct?

Don't you think it would have been a good idea to wait and hear what he has to say before making the conclusion you seem to have drawn?

As far as I know, H. Rodham Clinton has not yet been "cleared" of any of the possible charges pending against her.

That said, the State Department is certainly dragging its heels at providing subpoenas evidence that might works against HRC.

    2. And wasn't THAT a sorry spectacle? SHEESH!

You were right, Wanda, but I still think it would have been better to wait for the outrageously sad news to become "official."

  9. As I read your post, with its biblical verse, I admit to feeling great apprehension as I think about the future of our great country . I too am concerned by the lack of truth, integrity, sincerity, and the willingness to address serious national issues. Our nation is left, again, with two individuals that fail to inspire trust, confidence, pride, or a sense of national unity. In short we are facing another national election with the choice being selecting the "lesser of two evils". Or to simply not vote. For the first time in my adult life I honestly may choose the latter. I cannot, nor will I vote for Trump. My conscience just won't allow it.

Thanks for the post FreeThinke. Even though I am not religious in anyway It provoked thought and provided some additional clarity for me.

BTW, I hope you had a glorious Independence Day.

    1. Though The Modern Mind, if we may call it that, has decided to reject the very idea that God might exist, and thus dismisses what-we-call His Word as "poppycock," a close inspection of the Holy Bible in its entirety reveals wisdom derived from intuition by the ancients that has in fact provided both the bedrock and root structure of what-developed-into Western Civilization.

When we loose our moorings, float away from our foundation and cut ourselves off from the roots that have sustained us for thousands of years, we ruin the structure that shelters us and gravely imperil our very existence.

"God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man south, that also shall he reap."

There's no escaping that no matter what.

      Delete
    2. Indeed there is much wisdom that can be gained from a reading of the scriptures. This I have never doubted. Having read both the Old Testament and the New Testament, as well as attending bible study classes and church, I know there is truth in much (however not all) that is found ib the scriptures. I simply came to the conclusion that for me God is not necessary to live a proper and ethical life here on earth. Truth is often intuitive, but the wisdom of the ages can and should serve as a guide.

Comey going out of his way to say this does not rise to the level of criminal prosecution was a gigantic wet kiss to the Clinton Crime Family and Professor O'Bungle's administration. They got to him.

We are now officially a banana republic.

    2. Yes, I know. Very sadly it was to be expected, Silver. There appears to be no way for The People to get adequate representation from ANY branch of government anymore. The idea of Separation of Powers with three CO-EQUAL- but-INDEPENDENT branches of government seems to have disappeared with the tremendous rise in unaccountable power of The FOURTH ESTATE.

The ENEMEDIA, as I insist in calling it, has FAR greater influence than ANY of the "official" branches of government. It probably started with the Nixon-Kennedy "debate," which gave the more telegenic JFK just enough leverage to defeat Richard Nixon –– with the aid and assistance of a massive number of dead people voting from their graves in Crook County, Illinois.

The ubiquitous Enemedia Influence along with the depraved "ENTERTAINMENT" industry have rotted us out from within through an inexorable process of cultural pollution which brings about the degeneration of Judgment, Morals, Taste, Sensibility, and Respect –––– for our Elders, our History, for High Culture, for genuine Knowledge, for Refinement, and for the accumulated Wisdom of Distinguished Voices from our Past.

I imagine that James Comey –– like Chief-Justice John Roberts before him –– was either THREATENED and INtIMIDATED or was in on it all along. As someone who called in said on the radio earlier this afternoon, "If the fellow Comey hadn't a a done what he did, he wouldn't even be able to get a job at McDonald's tomorrow."

Meanwhile, we had a report that one of the witnesses prepared to testify against H. Rodham Clinton had managed to "crush his own throat and DIE from his self-inflicted injury" before he could testify. What a COINCIDENCE, eh?

And how much credence do you suppose the ENEMEDIA is likely to give THAT?

    2. "They must have put the squeeze on Comey?"

Sure, but what you are talking about began LONG, LONG, LOOOOOOOOOONG before either of us was born, Silver.

The Long Slow March to Destroy the Existing Culture began with the advent of Marxism, itself, –– and it must be admitted the conditions that made us ripe for the Marxist assault in the first place. We can blame the rise of the Machine Age which gave us Dark Satanic Mills, Mass Production, Child Labor, the Advertising Industry, AND the GRIEVANCE Industry, if we like, but it goes much farther and much deeper than that. We must blame the evil geniuses who very cleverly found ways to EXPLOIT GRIEVANCES as a means so SEIZING POLITICAL and ECONOMIC POWER.

The revoting developments that took place in the SICK-sties were the result of decades of insidious machinations and noisy demonstrations by those who always MEANT to do us in in the name of SOCIAL JUSTICE.

The rest is what you lament so bitterly today.

No in ever imagined such wreckage could be brought about by INTELLECTUALS AGGRESSION and the willful, methodical DEBASEMENT of Art, Music, Drama, Literature, Literacy, itself, and Aesthetic Ideals.

    3. "... [the] culturally diverse nation of the immigrants we have always been."

That's where I think you are at least partially wrong. The bitterly DIVISIVE brand of enforced "Diversity" that plagues us today did NOT arrive until 1965 when a power-hungry cabal of Democrats ostensibly led by Teddy Kennedy decided to change our IMMIGRATION POLICY to begin admitting a preponderance of pointedly exotic, markedly foreign people –– most of them dark-skinned from cultures BOUND to CLASH with our basically Anglo-European Heritage and then-well-established American cultural norms.

That this was done DELIBERATELY as a PLOY to give Democratic legislative and administrative power a DEATH GRIP on PERMANENT INCUMBENCY cannot be doubted by any sane, non-liberal-progressive observer.

    4. It was obvious that the government needed to act to force systemic discrimination, which was inherent in our system, to, to the curb and be swept away. But that is different in a sense from immigration.

I am pro immigration as we are, after all, a nation of immigrants. The color of a persons skin has little to do with the issue IMO. However, after having said this, I absolutely believe we were better served as a nation when immigration quota's were enforced, immigrants required a sponsor, and assimilation into our cultural norms was the anticipated and expected outcome. I refer you to TR's remarks on immigration, they can easily be googled.

Whether immigration policy change was a deliberate ploy to insure democratic dominance or popular conservative myth I do not presume to know, nor will I guess. The result of relaxation in immigration policy without a doubt benefited employers that gained by the increased availability of cheaper labor.

I agree we have an immigration problem. Where we differ is the proper way to handle the issue. As they say, the devil is in the details and therein lies the perpetual grounds for disagreement. Which I might add points up the importance of logical, well thought out, and rational compromise.

I think we both know FreeThinke that the compromise we need ain't going to happen.

It is difficult to answer your question about the poems. Hail Columbia is about the fight for Freedom and home rule. It gave us the liberty to lead our lives as we wish, govern ourselves and tax ourselves, make our own laws. If part of that latitude permits personal behavior others might find unacceptable, that is part of the rights we cherish as long as it does not interfere with another person's rights.

Each poem stands on its own and there is little comparison. In my view, the second poem may not paint the picture of the values we would like to see, but it certainly does not give me an image of a Tattered Flag. What could shred our flag would be the abolition of rights we have fought so hard to obtain and are now at stake in the campaign promises, LGBT rights, abortion rights, etc.

  25. Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are right. It's rigged. Just look at the timing.

    - FBI investigates Hillary Clinton for 15 months.

    - Then Bill Clinton secretly meets with Loretta Lynch on her plane. If not for an airport employee we would have never known of this encounter.

    - Next day, Loretta says she will accept the FBI recommendations.

    - Following day, FBI interviews Hillary for 3.5 hours.

    - 3 days including a holiday later, FBI Director clears her of any wrongdoing.

    - Same day, Obama/Clinton fly on Air Force One to campaign together for the first time.

    This was orchestrated in advance.

Anybody else would be charged but the Clintons are above the law. Or Bill Clinton must have boned Loretta really good on her plane.

I am so disappointed in the FBI. I always respected their integrity. This looks bad for the FBI. It's clear Hillary Clinton was gross negligent and seriously careless with classified information. She should be charged based on what we know from the FBI Director. Another case of #affluenza for rich, white Democrats.

That would be a really tough ticket to beat, since Joe Biden’s favorables, regardless of gaffes and such, are extremely high.

  29. It was amazing to watch Mr. Comey say that Mrs. Clinton did do what her critics said she did, but there will be no charges. Mr. Comey confirmed Mrs, Clinton did wrong and in another case would face discipline actions, but, he said, that's not what this investigation was about. If this went to a grand jury, would there be no charges?
Mr. Comey also confirmed that hostile actors did get access to her server and emails. That is dangerous, especially since she was the Secretary of State for the United States.
This will not help Mrs. Clinton's negative ratings, which are driven by a lack of trust.
Prosecutors make these kind of decisions everyday and guilty people do go free. Elected officials should be held to a higher standard, especially officials as high up as Mrs. Clinton.
The public perception will be that Mrs. Clinton did nothing wrong, which Mr. Comey himself said was not true, she did, but perception is everything. I get tired of people doing whatever they want, legal, or not, and just saying, I'm sorry. That's letting them off to easy, and to many elected officials seem to be saying, I'm sorry, to often.
If Mrs. Clinton becomes president I expect some scandal. Her tendencies to bend the law is part of her working character.
Respect for the law just took another hit.

So your chosen candidate was just accused by the FBI of being "extremely careless" with national security.. And all that you can say is that she should be more careful on the "Future"!

Well hopefully there won't be a "Future"

  37. OFF TOPIC but RELEVANT in ITS OWN WAY.

This was written for KID's blog, but his post encouraging us to look beyond the confines of this tiny little planet we inhabit, and study the infinite majesty of the Cosmos seems like excellent advice in this time of trial, travail and great disappointment.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord which made Heaven and Earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved.

Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper. He is the shade upon they right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore.

~ Adapted from the Book of Psalms and used as the text for an anthem by modern American composer Leo Sowerby

The psalmist might better have advised us to lift up our eyes unto the STARS and BEYOND. The incredible sense of AWE and WONDER we should feel at being confronted with what we do not, and cannot possibly ever, fully know might be intimidating to some, but I have always found it oddly reassuring.

After all, who am I –– who are ANY of us –– but the tiniest imaginable speck of dust in the unimaginable vastness of Creation, and yet I know that somehow I matter.

All that old business of "Not a sparrow falls, but that He notices it" becomes completely believable, and comforting when contemplating the magnitude of God's Creation.

And what better way to do that than to gaze with fascination and deep curiosity at the glory of and impenetrable mystery of Outer Space?

  38. I don't have any anxiety over this. I am young enough that I will most likely live to see her supporters suffering the full brunt of her stupid, reckless and ultimately destructive policies. At some point, the party barge will start taking water, and the dullards living off of smart phones and hopium smoke will get one hell of a wake up, and I'll be there to laugh my asses off at them.

The Righies feel really strong on the right today. "They wanted Hillary's head on a pike and didn't get it, so the entire US government is corrupt. "

    1. I could see their point if it looked like a dirty investigation; but by all appearances, they played it straight up and cataloged her callous disregard for the law.

The corruption part comes in when the Federal Government chooses not to prosecute because her ass is too big for the frying pan.

Our corrupt feral government wages selective lawfare on its enemies and lets its unindicted co-conspirators skip off unscathed. That is corrupt.

  40. If Hillary Thought She Was Home-Free After FBI Decision, Paul Ryan Just Dropped a Bombshell on Her.. They just announced that there WILL be more hearings to come.

  41. Hillary Clinton used poor judgement and was careless, but an awful lot of this piling on is attributable to Clinton Hate Syndrome

    1. Anyone who doesn't instinctively recoil from Hillary Clinton is either a fiend or a fool. PERIOD!

Where's there's THAT much smoke, there MUST be a fire in there somewhere.

  43. The tarmac summit sent a signal. It is a signal to all of the hardworking FBI agents who have the goods on Hillary. The attorney general has made it clear what team she is on. The attorney general isn’t on the side of justice. She clearly wanted to be invited to the Democratic Pool Party on Labor Day

  44. Les: Open your mind. Petraeus handed improperly-stored classified info to an Army Officer with a clearance, but not with a need-to-know.

Hellary's careless practices--which violated federal statutes--let it all hang out for hostile hackers.

Petraeus's greatest downfall was that he played it straight up when caught and obviously didn't have the right connections.

As a libertarian, I shouldn't have to explain this to you.
