    1. Humor is one of the many things the left is out to "get."

They hope to criminalize, punish and stamp out anything that denies that Life Is Nothing but Misery Created by Injustice -- their stock-in-trade.

It might be a good idea along about now to review Ninotchka. It may seem "dated" but the point it makes in its charming, lighthearted, gently satirical fashion is still absolutely valid.

  2. ’Tis said Obama's polls are gaining,

But he is far from entertaining.

The folk who find that jerk appealing

Are much in need of mental healing.

All that twixt his lips doth pass

Amounts to so much sewer gas.

    And if the Democrats discover
their Black Knight’s a faithless lover,
    And a shameless mountebank,
They only have themselves to thank,
For they saw fit the horn to toot
    Of this haughty empty suit!

  3. Maybe it is just me but Obama seems to be pretty confident, almost as though he is relishing the combat just ahead with the GOP.

Some might say he is showing grits. Others that he is nuts. It is more likely a bit of both.

    2. Confident? Yes, of course, but many have said calling in to C-Span's Washington Journal and on televised focus groups that the president appears "tone deaf," and "out of touch with reality."

Personally, I would not call his posture "confident,"as much as I would call it "arrogant."

He reminds me of a spoiled child who acts the bully in the school yard, knowing he can't possibly get into any trouble with the teachers or the principal, because his father is very very rich and does so much for the school no one would dare offend him by punishing the boy for his misdeeds.

I do believe Obama has been placed in the White House by very powerful vested global interests who've maneuvered Mr. Bigears into acting as their puppet on the world's stage.

One thing is certain. He does not and has never had the slightest interest in or intention of representing or enhancing the best interests of our populace as a whole.

    3. JMO,

Despite his Negroid face Obama's RED orientation has never been in doubt for an instant.

Many caricatures of the president portray him sitting on a carved, gilded throne wearing robes of royal purple trimmed in ermine, golden crown set firmly atop his nappy head as he holds an orb in one hand and a scepter in the other.

The picture would be far more true to life, if the Orb and Scepter were replaced by the Hammer and Sickle.

  4. Why the snubs of Selma’ Matters at the Oscars matters.
To realive why, one only has to read the newsparpers or listen to the daily news.
BlackLivesMatter.com was created in 2012 after Trayvon Martin’s murderer, George Zimmerman, was acquitted for his crime, and dead 17-year old Trayvon was post-humously placed on trial for his own murder. Rooted in the experiences of Black people in this country who actively resist our de-humanization, BlackLivesMatter.com is a call to action and a response to the virulent anti-Black racism that permeates our society.Black Lives Matter is a unique contribution that goes beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and vigilantes…Support the Movement! And support our work!
And young black Americans need to see the Selma movie, it will give you something to think about.
Reject the Rightwing propaganda. And blogs such as this one.

Your thinking is twisted, your rhetoric defamatory and inflammatory. Because of that, people of your ilk do little but promote hatred, aggravate existing tensions, increase polarity between warring factions, and generally add to the misery and injustice you claim to want to remedy.

In short, you are a jackass.

  5. Like nearly all of his speeches, Obama's STFU was Mussolini-esque in its bombast and posturing arrogance.

He doesn't care about governing. He doesn't even know how. Its all about Barack and taunting his enemies.

We knew six years ago that this man had not one shred of a qualification to be president. He hasn't even run so much as a hot dog stand. Six years wasted, and in two more years, it will be eight years down the toilet for this nation. I pray we can recover.

  8. Really not much to tell FT. The boss was educated but came up in the ranks before getting his promotion, ended up general foreman.

90 percent of the American blacks in the labor force were decent employees, dependable, conscientious, just trying to make a good life like most of us.

Some of the blacks from Somalia, Nigeria, etc seemed not as motivated and less hard working. Often thought language and culture had a bit to do with it.

    1. An interesting observation, Gandolf, because it runs contrary to what I have seen and heard, myself. As many here already should know, I taught for the UNCF, and also in NYC at NYIEB where a large share of my students came from the inner city or "ghetto" as it came to be called.

At the Blind School (NYIEB), the students boarded with us, classes were very small, teachers were free to design and direct their own curriculum with help from department heads but little or no interference. There was much opportunity for one-on-one contact in private lessons and evening study halls. I had many rewarding experiences as a teacher in that (unique) environment, because I really wanted to make something significant of the job. However, overall academic achievement was minimal, because so many students came from abysmal backgrounds, and most of the faculty were leftists who insisted their failures in the classroom were the result of

      A. Society for oppressing their parents, and not giving the kids a better start

      B. Teachers not getting enough to afford an apartment in Greenwich Village.

In my particular department we had a wonderful veteran supervisor who encouraged us in every way to take a determined, realistic approach. She eschewed socialistic theories, brooked no nonsense, took the bull by the horns, and worked sedulously to chip away at the prison built by Ignorance at every available opportunity. We achieved remarkable results under her guidance, but our approach was not popular with the rest of the faculty -- most of whom seemed to suffer from a pathological aversion to hard work, and preferred to grouse in the Teachers Lounge supporting each other in their dismal views of society, our venerable school and its administration.

At the UNCF COLLEGE students were so ill prepared to do anything resembling college work it was discouraging to say the least. Easily 90% were functionally illiterate and unable to read even at the comic book level. The mostly black faculty were equally ill prepared to teach. The members of the (black) administration were less ignorant, but actively engaged in the perpetuation of a FARCICAL pretense that "education" was in fact occurring under their guidance. They had reached a high degree of comfort and respectability and were not about to rock the boat and thus jeopardize their personal security.

I could hardly blame them, but the school was a travesty. Being there was frustrating, infuriating and depressing. Glorification and enshrinement of gross ineptitude tends to have that effect on thinking people.

I am glad your own experience was so much more positive, Gandolf.

At any rate, from what I have seen blacks born in Africa who manage to get themselves to American universities seem more literate, better spoken and more highly motivated than American blacks raised in an atmosphere of Institutionalized Ignorance, Sullen Resentment and little but a government-generated Entitlement Mentality to guide and sustain them.

Prospects and circumstances may never have been very good here for Negroes, but they have become infinitely worse since the federal government stepped in with a determined effort to equalize the odds by main force.

The President is going to spend the next two years pushing popular proposal after popular proposal each of which the GOP will promptly reject over and over and by the end of 2016 Hillary will be planning her relations with a Democratic Senate, and a smaller GOP majority in the House. It's going to be fun to watch. It already is.

    3. Thersites, I'll repeat what i said above for your benefit.

Despite his brown, Negroid face, Obama's RED orientation has never been in doubt for an instant.

    4. I, personally, have never doubted his leaning. But people like my wife and children, who voted for him, think that I am "nuts" and that his "intentions" for the country are nothing but honorable and pure.

    5. Oh dear, Thersites! You may be "singular," but decidedly sane.

Oh well, "A prophet is without honor in his own country" an all that.

Because of my interest and involvement in extraordinary things that rarely-if-ever have put money in my pocket, my family thinks I'm nuts too. But they are neither wife nor children.

I do know it's possible to love (some) liberals, but I often wonder why. ;-)

  12. I work in the kitchen of a small business restaurant in New York City's Harlem . The owner, who is also my supervisor because the past supervisor could not stand working with him, is the worst boss I have ever had. He makes off-color jokes about whit people that make me uncomfortable. I've told him that and he threatens me about firing me.

    1. I'm having a hard time finding your story credible, Barbara.

If you are white, what are you doing working at a "small restaurant" in Harlem? If you are black, why wold you care what your, presumably black, boss says about white people?

It may be regrettable, but it's perfectly normal for human beings of one sort to resent and poke fun at human beings of another. Attempts to stop this through legislative fiat or by complaining about it are doomed to failure. If you don't like it, DON'T PARTICIPATE IN IT.

A tacit response does NOT constitute either advocacy or acceptance, and it does NOT make you "part of the problem."

Besides, we pay far too much attention to what people SAY, and not nearly enough to what they DO.

      Delete
    2. Sorry you feel that way, but I'm black and I DO care what is said about whites, as you should care about what is said about blacks.

      Delete
    3. Thanks for coming back, Barbara. I care a great deal about all these things, but I'm a realist. I too come from New York. My grandparents were penniless immigrants from Europe who arrived in NewYork at Ellis Island in the early 1880's. They were glad to be here, because conditions in Europe must have been very bad, but they didn't have an easy time after they arrived here. They were called names, by members of other competing immigrant groups, and were made fun of in school, and all the rest. BUT they didn't let any of that discourage them. They stayed in school, studied and worked hard, and by the time my mother, who was their eighth child, came along, they were doing quite well.

I do believe "actions speak louder than words," Barbara, but I think it's great that you care about being fair to white people. I try to see people as PEOPLE not divide them into categories, but I do think it's a waste of time to fret too much about what others say. We are literally driving ourselves crazy as a nation by spending too much time, energy and money on minding other people's business instead of tending to our own.

  13. Hi you guys, I hadn't looked at these old blogs in several years, but just went by some and saw that some of you are still calling black thugs (unarmed youths) and not supporting the cops who are out there doing their jobs, not a shock really, thought i'd look in on some old friends, i guess i was hoping folks had finally decided to wake up and call it like it is. And after 7 years and you guys still blaming Bush and the Republicans for everything, I guess that I’m still waiting for the Democrats to suddenly give a dam and to wake up to the fact that obama is not the man we need for our country! Not a shocker. I’m not even hearing the normal it is Bush’s fault from the liberals in my office anymore. It is just an outrage that this man was elected twice.. And as for these unemployment figures, I can tell you that everyone has a friend out of work these days. People are not as dumb as the politicians want them to be. The real unemployment is more like 23% where i live,
I for one regret voting for Obama, clearly Romney would have done much better. Socialism isn’t working too good right now is it?

  17. Dr. Carson's ridiculous statements are foolish, but they eat that nonsense up. Stating that Obamacare is the worst thing since slavery, that the U.S. is now just like Nazi Germany, and that Congress should get rid of judges who rule on subjects he and his religious brethren disagree with is so inane and extremist that anyone with functioning brains cells should dismiss him as a political crackpot.

He should stick to what he knows. And he knows nothing about politics. And if YOU think that he does, then there is something is wrong with you.
