  1. Amen!

Lovely images and an outstanding choir.

    Thank you, FT.

PS: I like the alternate tune as well. Are you familiar with that alternate tune for "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus"?

  3. AOW asks, 'Are you familiar with that alternate tune for "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus?"'

Yes, indeed. The selection chosen here is to me "the alternative." I'd never heard it before I started searching for a performance to share. Too many versions of the "traditional" tune have been polluted by hideous "pop" style singing, and kitschy arrangements that frankly set my teeth on edge.

I did find a nice instrumental version of the more familiar tune featuring the guitar. I've put it up for tomorrow.

As a teacher, AOW, I hope you constantly emphasize and reemphasize the vital importance of addressing a given topic, and sticking with it.

We have a mentality here in the smogosphere that could very well take a piece about the construction methods used to build the Brooklyn Bridge, and use it as a forum to tell us about how much they hate Ronald Reagan, what they believe everyone ought to eat for breakfast, or how they quit smoking, or go off on a tangent and give us a diatribe on what a lousy stinkin' place Brooklyn is and what a stupid idea it was to build a bridge to make it easier to get there, etc.

OR, some bleeding heart will start spouting statistics about how many men died unnecessarily during the construction, because they didn't have OSHA to protect them in those dark days before Progressivism reared its hideous head and crippled our productive capability.

I don't mind negative criticism or contrary opinion -- as long as it is honest, and remains ON TOPIC.

Gratuitous insults and stupid, "drive by" remarks will not be tolerated here, even if made by a dear friend or close relative.
