I’ll Be Seeing You
I'll be seeing you,
In all the old familiar places,
That this heart of mine embraces,
All day through.
In that small cafe,
The park across the way,
The children's carousel,
The chestnut trees the wishing well.
I'll be seeing you in every golden summer's day
In everything that's light and gay,
I'll always think of you that way,
I'll find you in the morning sun,
And when the night is new,
I'll be looking at the moon,

I've always loved Durante. Not the greatest voice, but always a "character".
ReplyDeleteWell, that just it, of course, Beanie. I've always loved Jimmy Durante. We all did.
DeleteHe wasn't a great singer –– not really "singer" at all as a matter of fact –– but he had an irrepressible personality and and immense amount of "heart" and good will that proved infectious to many. It made him not only well loved, but UNFORGETTABLE to at least two generations.
He was that rarity of rarities –– an indivdual who truly was UNIQUE.
By the way, I feel similarly about Ethel Merman.
The ol' Schnozzola... What a character. Nice Sunday morning music.
