This is My Country!

This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.

What diff'rence if I hail from North or South
Or from the East or West?
My heart is filled with love for all of these.
I only know I swell with pride and deep within my breast
I thrill to see Old Glory paint the breeze.

This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.

With hand upon heart I thank the Lord For this my native land,
For all I love is here within her gates.
My sould is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand,
For these are mine own United States.

This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country! To have and to hold.

    1. A staple of every Junior High and High School Glee Club where I lived as a boy.

The very idea of expressing love and respect for our country and pride in our heritage seems tragically foreign today.

Another loss to mourn brought about by the machinations of the anti-American Left both foreign and domestic.

  3. It's great to be patriotic but the country today has moved so far from its original founding ideals to become a caricature of this verse.

I know. I know Donald Trump was elected supposed on the idea of "making America great again". Depends which America he is referring to: The Original America of its founders or the jack-booted thuggery of the second half of the twentieth Century.

    1. Only time will tell, Waylon. I highly recommend suspending judgment until at least the first hundreds days of the new administration have passed. So far, so good, but you're right in that we can't know where things are going to lead until the journey is well underway.

In other words let's adopt a Wait and See attitude for the time being.

Good to see you here again. Best wishes for a Joyful Christmas Season!

    2. It definitely too soon to decide that he's lived up to his promises or not, since he's not even in Washington yet. I don't know why he seems to be contemplating bringing into his government so many faces from the past and especially those that vehemently opposed him in the recent election campaign. Could be he's smart enough to protect his back or trying to unite the country and his own party—only he really knows the answer to that.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Sir!

  4. You can only expect so much love of country from a people who do not feel their country loves them. The glory days you remember, FT, came at a time after America had fought hard and united to make the world a better place, rather than just mucking things up with colonial escapades, millions of GI's got a college education and their first homes with the help of Uncle Sam, when we were building roads, schools, hospitals, when the poor heartland was wired with power, courtesy Uncle Sam, when big steps were taken to make life more equally opportune for minorities and otherwise disenfranchised, when those who gained the most from our great country paid a fair share back to it. We were moving forward. We've been floundering around doing nothing but blaming each other for getting nothing done for 40 years now. Don't be surprised if people are not feeling all that patriotic these days.

    1. Here's another thing! America's only great when Big Daddy Government is building things and handing out free goodies?

Go live in North Korea, Venezuela or Cuba to see how that turns out.

We paid our debts after World War II with heavy taxation from 1945 to 1965. I'm not carping, it was the responsible thing to do. What I am explaining to you is that all that government largess came with a gigantic price tag that we were only able to pay because the rest of the industrial world lay in ruins, so we sold a lot of stuff the the rest of the world.

Your way has been tried, son. Communism failed.

    2. I don't know how old you are, Jersey. I'm just four years shy of EIGHTY, myself. That doesn't make me any smarter, but it DOES give me the advantage of remembering how things were in the mid-to-late 1940's, through the 50's, the SICK-sties, and beyond.

I'd like you to try to think on this: The SPIRIT [i.e. attitude, mindset, values, beliefs, etc.] that saw us through two World Wars with a Great Depression in between and enabled us to attain VICTORY over the AXIS Powers existed and sustained us from the days of early settlement, the American Revolution, the establishment of the United States of America as "a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." It is with us still, but has been made dormant by self-destructive, wickedly cynical iconoclastic modes of thinking and belief.

The courage, love of country, loyalty, unity, and strength of purpose we seem to have had during those times of extreme challenge did NOT come from "Progressive Politics." It came from within the hearts of the majority of people who believed most fervently that there are far greater and better things to consider in life than mere SELF-GRATIFICATION. "Duty, Honor, Country" are not mere words, but the substance –– and the essence –– of what it takes to sustain a great nation filled with good people.

In other words just having plenty of food, clothing, comfortable shelter, liquor, entertainment and sex are NOT the primary ingredients we need to experience a good, purposeful life.

The old phrase "Man does not I've by bread alone," expresses it well enough if we take time to consider what it may mean..

A big subject, Jersey. Too big to go into in any depth right now.

Meanwhile, please take my good will, finest hopes, best wishes and sincere affection for whatever they may be worth to you. I hope it helps you to withstand the rigors of the ordeal you are going though, and to TRIUMPH over the challenges you face.

I do believe that honest expressions of good will and affection have healing power. I especially hope that proves true in your case. God loves you, even if you deny His existence.

      Take care, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  5. My father is 85, and we're very close, and believe you me I've heard all about the ol' days. My opinion on this particular subject was greatly shaped by him. America was at it's best when we were all in it together and working together to make the country a better place. Hyper-capitalistic Me-ism is what's ruining this country. And everything I said above is fact, period. You are misrepresenting it. You are mixing Me-ism with progressivism. Two completely different things. Sure, the country got fat and spoiled. All great nations experience that after great leaps forward. But when things get back down again, we have to snap out of it. I have the distinct feeling things will be snapping pretty soon. Either Trump can really build this nation again, or all will be failure and we'll get a real progressive next time.

All the best to you, my friend! Merry Christmas!

Look, there are jobs staying in the US because of what the Trump/Pence ticket did. I for one doubt that if HRC had been elected, she would have done anything specific about the Carrier workers. So some of them get a better Christmas.

    That is a win.

Now we wait and see what else he is going to do. I am rooting for success for his presidency and America, because failure will hurt us all.

    To A-Hole up there:

As I've said several times, Mr.Trump's presidency is looking astonishingly good in the short time since he was elected, but I think it would be wise to sit back, take a good long look, quit jawing for the next four to six months, and THEN we might know enough to begin to evaluate what he has been able to accomplish. "Wait and See' is the word. We've had more than enough shrieking, roaring and wrangling the past two years for at least ten lifetimes.

As for the definition of success, let me parody Abraham Lincoln: You please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.

  9. Dear, Fr. O'Malley:

With all due respect, Father, you chose the very LEAST objectionable thing in Sue's comment to find objectionable.

I usually delete Sue's comments on sight, because invariably they are mindless and hateful, but once in a while it's good idea to allow one or two choice remarks from the Left to remain, because they show all sane observers just how terribly WRONG and incredibly NASTY these people really are.

Not that we don't have OUR share of similar bigots on "our" side. I don't like THEM either, often delete them, else take them to task for being stupid, ugly, and poor representatives of Conservative-Libertariansm.

Four-letter words are usually boring, but rarely harmful. and every so often there is no BETTER way to express certain sentiments. But in general I would agree that the F-Word, the S-Word, et al. should always be applied SPARINGLY, if at all.

How we view the past depends on whose ox got gored, I guess. Life is complex and filled with contradictory elements. Always been like that. Always will be.

I try never to tell lies or misrepresent anything I've experienced personally, but what has been true for me may not have been so for others. I'll grant you that.

As I said earlier, it's a BIG subject, and we shall probably have to agree to disagree, and let it go at that.

Are you familiar with Alexander Tyler and his famous cycle?

"Alexander Fraser Tytler, Lord Woodhouselee FRSE was a Scottish advocate, judge, writer and historian who served as Professor of Universal History, and Greek and Roman Antiquities at the University of Edinburgh. Wikipedia
Born: October 15, 1747, Edinburgh, Scotland
Died: January 5, 1813, Edinburgh, Scotland

WIKI has lots to say about him, but don't get bogged down in all the BS about whether he actually originated the ideas that bear his name or not. IT DOESN'T MATTER. The concept, ITSELF, does.

    3. I think, FT, it's about balance. We are the most capitalistic big state in the developed world. There are plenty of examples of just-as-happy-or-happier Western states that are far more socialistic than us, and their largess remains intact. Our Democracy, just as much as it has produced progressive agendas, has produced conservative agendas. At the state and local levels, and on the Hill, the GOP has been in majority for most of the past generation. Conservatism has been the majority governing philosophy in this time. I can't think of a single good thing to come out of it. Not a one. Regardless of philosophies, let alone ones that are proven failures, we need to physically and institutionally and individually build up this country. We have seen the effects of mass middle class growth in the 40's and 50's, it has it's ups and downs but for most Americans it simply means a better and more fulfilling and more productive life. But, and this is the big but, it does cause inflation, and the rich hate inflation, and the idler the rich, the more they hate it. But with growth should come inflation. It is the natural economic cycle as we have seen it all through history. Inflation can be managed. But if it is arbitrarily stifled, the Milton Friedman school we've been following since the 70's, the consequence is stagnancy of economy for the vast majority of Americans. Throw in all that money wasted on the military empire, and the drag on the working class from the police state, and conservatism has flat-out WRECKED this country and should be abandoned ALTOGETHER.

I mean it. Ciao, my friend! And Merry Christmas! ;)

    4. Very briefly, Jersey:

What you don't like is not Conservatism or Libertarianism. It would be better known as CRONY CAPITALISM and/or INTERNATIONALISM (GLOBALISM).

The GOP may have held majorities in congress much of the time, but we on the Right do not regard their performance as serving the interests of Conservatism or Libertarianism in ANY way. It looks to us as though too many members of congress have been suborned –– bought and paid for –– by multinational corporate interests who have no allegiance to the USA.

So a great deal of what you say I agree with. Where we differ has to do with defining the cause.

I've written a great deal about that here and n several other blogs. I hate to keep going over and over it again and again, but my they as to why things are where they are today goes all the way back to the Industrial Revolution.

Mass production spawned a great many social ills. Life in the early factories was grim, too demanding and poorly paid. Qua8ty of life suffered badly with increased urbanization and the conditions imposed by the new masters (Industralists) who saw opportunity, took advantage of it, and did much good, but ALSO did much harm.

From that came the Labor Movement and MARXISM. Then "Progressivism" which is really Marxism-Lite.

Industry in order to defend itself from the new Progressive Interventionism which sought to clip the wings of Industry, dec9ded to BUY INTO the GOVERNMENT, and thus formed an unholy alliance –– a sort of merger –– between Government and Industry –– a union that produced Crony Capitalism.

How what IS that exactly? I see it as a form of NEO-FEUDALISM, where Captains of Industry in partnership with an increasingly bossy, intrusive, freedom-hating Central Government have taken the place of the Lords, Dukes, Earls, Counts, etc. who owned all the land and had almost literally the power of life and death over their subjects. And the "Workers" have assumed the posit freaky held by the serfs. Mid-level executives are the latest version of the Knights and Vassals.

Only the names, costumes, settings and hairstyles change, the essential roles in the structure of societies never do.

Though I hate the thought, I believe we human beings resemble the Creatures of the Hives much more closely than we like to think.

The American Revolution –– much like the transitory wonders of the Golden Age f Pericles –– produced a brief, rather beautiful respite from the ancient ways, BUT –– like nearly everything else humanity contrives –– it was inherently flawed by the practice of slavery.

    5. I believe that confusion is deliberately contrived so that today one side of an argument talks right past the other side. Perhaps the past looks better from a future vantage point. To create the country the founders put at risk their lives and fortunes. They succeeded in founding a unique nation based clearly on stated intentions of the Declaration of Independence.

They knew that a sovereign and independent nation depended on necessary powers in order to keep that bation envisioned by them—and one of those necessary powers was the control of the currency of the nation.

A few things have happened in the mean time. Some foreign genius realized and stated that if he could control the currency of a nation that it didn't matter who created the laws of that nation.

Succeeding him another evil genius of the 20th Century—John Maynard Keynes—thought that the best way to destroy a nation was to "debauch the currency". Keynesianism has been the most influential practiced in our age.

Does anybody see any connection to our world today?

Pretending that inflation reflects something healthy in an economy only reflects the ignorance and robotic compliance with the ventriloquists that have created these semi-literate puppets.

The wealth of the United States of America has long vanished. The door slammed shut when Nixon realized what had happened and saw that the economic bleed out needed to be stopped.

And that likely he became the media created demon that we all know and love today.

  14. I know the Democratic party has a far left wing but what they want for America is certainly not extreme when you look at the Far Right and the America they favor...Check out the differences....

The Progressive Left believes in freedom with opportunity for all, responsibility to all, and cooperation among all. We believe that the purpose of government is to advance the common good, to secure and protect our rights, and to help to create a high quality of life and community well-being. We want decent paying jobs and benefits for workers and sustainable economic growth. We want growing businesses producing the world’s best products and services. We want an economy that works for everyone, not just the few. We want all nations to uphold universal human rights and to work together to solve common challenges. This is what a progressive America looks like.

Now for the Far Right, ...The Tea Party....Far-right politics commonly includes authoritarianism, anti-communism, and nativism. Often, the term "far right" is applied to fascists and neo-Nazis, and major elements of fascism have been deemed clearly far-right, such as its belief that supposedly superior people have the right to dominate society while purging allegedly inferior elements, and — in the case of Nazism — genocide of people deemed to be inferior. Claims that superior people should proportionally have greater rights than inferior people are sometimes associated with the far right. The far right has historically favored an elitist society based on belief of the legitimacy of the rule of a supposed superior minority over the inferior masses. Far-right politics usually involves anti-immigration and anti-integration stances towards groups that are deemed inferior and undesirable. Concerning the sociocultural dimension (nationality, culture and migration), one far-right position could be the view that certain ethnic, racial or religious groups should stay separate, and that the interests of one’s own group should be prioritized.
Take some time and look at legislation the Tea Party proposes in states and in Washington. Racism, Extremism including murder of abortion doctors encouraged, dismantling programs for the poor, privatizing Social Security and Medicare which really means get rid of them they cost too much, ZERO abortion even if the Mothers life is at risk, guns in the hands of all Americans so they can defend themselves against government, a hate for public education, a hate for science, no regards to our environment, bloated military, ....

    1. Sue,

The stated aims of leftists, as you present them, sound highly desirable. So did Uncle Joe Stalin's Constitution for the USSR. I've read it, and found its words extremely benign. Unfortunately, in PRACTICE the form of government you seem so ardently to favor does NOT produce the results you say you desire.

In addition many of the things you blithely attribute to the "Tea Party," are absolute nonsense. The Tea party exists largely as a figment of vain leftist imaginings these days. It never began as an organized, funded entity, but as a spontaneous grass roots uprising in response to the the BULLYING and TYRANNICAL way Obamacare was FOISTED on the nation when the Democrats were in the majority who allowed for NO DEBATE from the Republican minority, and who received not a SINGLE vote from the Republican members of congress. We, who favor INDEPENDENCE from a Big Brother-like Nanny State, DO NOT WANT GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY to choose, dictate and micro-manage the course of our lives. PERIOD!

You predicate most of your attitudes on false ASSUMPTIONS, wicked FABRICATIONS and PROJECTED FANTASIES.

You ALSIO vigorously attempt to REDEFINE the language in ways that portray VIRTUE as VICE, and many things most accept as NORMAL as STUPID, UNDESIRABLE, and EVIL.

You and all your and are would-be TYRANTS no matter how you try to present yourselves as benign, well-meaning, thoughtful and eminently sensible.

The method of governance you advocate is a proven FAILURE throughout the world. Comparing the price of REAL ESTATE A-L-O-N-E in all the countries of Europe with that in the United States proves that conclusively.

For all our much vaunted faults and inequities the it comes t domestic real estate, we get a far better "bang for the buck" HERE than ANYWHERE else in the civilized world.

Now I'm NOT going to waste any more of MY precious time arguing like this with any more leftist pinheads. Doubtless you will go to your grave cherishing the same misconceptions and misperceptions you hold now. NOTHING I –– or anyone else –– could say would move you n the slightest, so WHY should we continue to IRRITATE each other with insults and futile attempts at dialogue, when ALL you want to do is LECTURE us in a hectoring, badgering, fiercely antagonistic, insolent style?

Read E.M. Forster's The Machine Stops. Read Aldous Huxley.'s A Brave New World. Read George Orwell's Animal Farm and Nineteen-Eighty-Four. Read Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. THEN get back to us, and maybe we could begin to have a REAL conversation.

      MERRY CHRISTMAS!

If everything was as peachy keen and hunky dory as YOU would have us believe, Sue, Mr. TRUMP would NEVER have been able to draw MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of disenchanted, discontented rank and file American citizens to the rallies he staged in STADIUMS ALL OVER the COUNTRY during his enormously successful campaign.

    2. Sue just loves FAKE News...

Some folks might argue the “real” unemployment rate is 40.3%. But they are being a bit disingenuous with their calculation.

The 40.3% would be calculated by subtracting the employment-to-population ratio — which stands at 59.7% — from 100% of the US population over 16 (which the BLS terms the “civilian noninstitutional population”). This pool, however, includes 95 million people who are not actively looking for jobs and are classified by the BLS as not in the labor force. Many of these are retirees, the sick, stay-at-home parents, or full-time students, among other folks who may have reasons for not seeking work.

The 4.6% figure, considered the official unemployment rate, only considers those who either have jobs or are looking for jobs. In other words, 4.6% of the active US labor force does not currently have a job.

Critics argue that the 4.6% rate does not consider those who may want a job but have given up looking for work. There are, however, alternative unemployment rates that consider those who are discouraged or marginally attached to the workforce. (The “U-4” rate, which is unemployed plus discouraged workers, was 5% in November; the “U-6” rate, which is unemployed plus those employed part-time for economic reasons and those marginally attached to the workforce, was 9.3% in November.)

And the thing is, we could go on like this forever.

    3. Yes, sir, and please don't forget the large number of former mid-level executives, highly-paid skilled workers, and owners of small business forced out of business by excessive, oppressive, too costly regulations who are NOW "employed" flipping burgers, driving cabs, clerking in grocery stores, stocking shelves at Walmart, waiting on tables, or doing odd jobs and otherwise living from hand to mouth.

Statistics do not take QUALITY of EMPLOYMENT into account at all, do they?

We also should consider the deleterious effect excessive UNION DEMANDS have made –– demands that virtually BEGGED business owners to move "OFFSHORE."

As I keep saying, it's too early to tell what kind of president Mr. Trump will try out to be. We should know a great deal more in 4 to 6 months. Till then I'm suspending judgment, and refuse to engage in idle speculation, which is ALL we get from the enemedia anymore.

  21. The big kerfuffle today is that President-elect Donald Trump took a call from the leaders of Taiwan, the remains of what at one time was the resistance against the Chairman Mao and the chinese Communists.

Little though it be known that back in the days when it mattered, before Mao and the Communists became victorious, The United States of America supported Chang Kai Chek in his efforts to defeat Mao. But it became a useless effort since the arms supplied to that group were lacking the necessary firing pins to use them and led to the victory of Mao. Thank you, General George C. Marshall, for another American betrayal.

Seems there was plenty of this going on in the aiding and abetting of Communism in both Russia and China.

Why would the one country in the world created on the founding principles of the Declaration of Independence violate its own founding ideals to this extent ... TREASON?

Too many role like "Sue" in the world, Waylon!

We can't sustain our identity as a nation or as a people with characters like that vicious virago running rampant.

Could the Founders POSSIBLY have envisioned the existence of elements of that sort?

      Somehow I doubt it

    2. Could the Founders POSSIBLY have envisioned the existence of elements of that sort?

No they could not have envisioned such creatures. They were created long after. After the termites had infested the education system and ?edited" history as it was to be taught, I believe.

    3. Yes, Waylon, Cultural Marxists from the infamous Frankfurt School infiltrated ur universities nearly a hundred years ago. The result to "education" was tantamount to the introduction of a deadly, slow-acting poison into the water supply. We have, need, been POISONED by INTELLECTUAL and PERVERTED CULTURAL AGGRESSION.

The result has been that vile creatures like Howard Zinn have been able to rewrite history and turn into Leftist "AGITPROP." THIS is what parents are spending upwards of 60-70K per annum to do to their children. The term WICKED springs easily to mind.

The question is why have so many parents been so easily DUPED into preparing their children to commit cultural, moral and political SUICIDE?

I think you and I understand the basic SOURCE of this evil, but our world has been so bamboozled by a devilishly clever class of professional victims that we can't even speak about it directly without putting ourselves in jeopardy.

How to break this death grip on our once-vibrant society without resorting violence and the horror of outright persecution is still a mystery. I hope we may solve it soon, but HOPE is all we have right now.

None of that is true. You are blinded by the liberal elite media. You will believe anything they tell you if it is positive about the Kenyan.

And..any of it that is actually true, isn't because of Obama. It's due to the fact that congress hasn't given him what he wanted. If Obama did what he wanted, we'd be in a deep recession now. Or..its due to the natural ups and downs of the economy.

Of course, any improvement that happens after November 9 is the Trump effect. He's making the economy better and he hasn't even started yet.

  28. can remember the Cuban Crisis very well, in fact I can remember it as if it were yesterday. Some things (be it very Good, or Very Bad) you seem to be able to remember it better than the usual days events. I can remember that this was most likely the first thing in my life that scared the hell out of me. . Abut things changed in later life and I don’t scare as easily as an adult, Although I must admit that some things that Obama had done has scared me to death. Even as a Jew, the taking of Christ out of every school and holiday has scared me to death. When Obama made that apology tour to Egypt and criticized America scared me to death. When he (Obama) gave in to Iran and gave them the Deal of the century, scared me to death! The way he (Obama) treated Benjamin Netanyahu when he walked out and left him sitting in the Oval office, also scared the hell out of me. But when it came to cozy up to the Communist Dictator in Cuba, it was another matter. Obama and Castro seems to get along like two peas in a pod.
Trust me, I have never been so happy to see a Cuban dictator die, and I just cant wait to see the day when Obama’s Presidency is over. …. Never before in MY lifetime has America been so close to destruction, or our Constitution desecrated.\ as with this president in office for 8 long years. With Trump’s win, my faith in the people has been restored. We finally spoke up and loudly! And it paid off.

  36. Funny how a Demokrat can say Republicans “have never been for the people or for the country,” when it was due to the work of mainly the Republican Party that ended slavery and brought in Civil Rights as Southern Demokrats fought it tooth and nail.
How is it Republicans that push for control when it is the Demokrats that want to censor and deny free speech to Republicans? It is all about control!
While posters on the Demokratik Underground Message Board are of no doubt the fringe far left, the Demokrat Party listens to them and other lunatic leftist sites. The loons have a say in our country and cry they are oppressed, when by their own words they wish to oppress others. And jut take a look at some of the blogs by the Demokrats that post right here on this blog. These blogs are FULL of hatred posts and pictures of republicans, ah, but that’s fine, just don’t do the same to them because if you do then YOU are the loony tune, then YOU are the “troll”
This is the state of our country today after the well-planned and orchestrated Dictatorial Socialist Demokratik Politburo seizure of the country by demonizing and targeting Republicans with such hate filled rhetoric since they lost power in 1994. Spineless Republicans sat back and made excuses and even joined in at times, trying to out liberal these liberals instead of standing up for America.
This is what we have come to. We (the conservatives) have bent over backwards so much and so often to gain the approval of these loons that we now feel guilty when they complain about it. But it’s the so-called “tolerant left” and the “compassionate left” that are the most intolerant of all people today and must be exposed and opposed every step of the way. So don’t fall into their trap. They don’t have any love for us. Although they may post these love notes to you, they still stab you in the back on their own blogs. Look at them, read them, if you don’t believe me.

    1. Continued*
After decades of pump priming by personalities like Bryant Gumbel and particularly Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton spewing racially divisive commentary, it is little wonder that the verbal and emotional assault on the morality of an entire race of people - specifically, white people - continues today with Attorney General Eric Holder calling us a nation of cowards, afraid to discuss race.

Could there be a reason for that fear?
Perhaps we could start with the efforts of one Al Sharpton heading a rally today outside the New York Post offices for a political cartoon automatically decried as "racist" because the monkey (the DEAD monkey, no less) was shot by police and now The Hill needs to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.Of course it is racist! It is also a death threat against Barack Obama! Why? Because the man is (half) black and you just don't associate blacks and monkeys in any way because.... well.... it's racist. Fine. I can deal with not associating black people and monkeys (it is disgusting, after all, and utterly demeaning); but I cannot deal with finding "racism" in every shadow, every corner, every nook and cranny and the manufactured outrage at perceived racism where none exists.

      Delete
    2. This is no more an attack on Barack Obama as a black man than it is a threat against his life. First of all, Barack did not write the "stimulus" bill - that would be the "monkey-see, monkey-do" idiocy of Pelosi, Reid, et al. He made the unfortunate error of "delegating" authorship of this atrocity to the morons running Congress. This cartoon makes "sideways" reference to how poorly masked was the stampede to rush it past the unsuspecting public that ultimately we will discover we would have been better off had it been written by a monkey. It is an absolute reference to Travis, the (drugged-up) monkey shot by police after mauling a lady earlier this week. Had this week's news carried headlines about a (drugged-up) dog mauling a lady, the picture would have depicted police shooting a mad dog, likely bearing the same caption (thanks to the mad-dog politics running rampant in the cesspool of Washington).
The most shameful and appalling aspect of this fiasco is having to face the fact that we will never be a "post-racial" society. There is a certain element that will never allow us to move to that point - and it starts with folks like Jesse and Al, indoctrinating people into thinking they must suffer a victimization complex - or they will never truly be African-American.
Rush was targeted by Obama- because he fears him, he know the truth about his agenda.
So he tried to discredit him. As did that other turncoat Michael Steel. But it didn't work.
Obama failed at that, just as his presidency fails.
Even the Kool Aid drinkers are wondering WTF?
Just look at how they attacked Sarah Palin, because they knew how much of a threat she would be in 2012, she became the target of some of the most hateful lies and vitriol thrown against any woman and her family I have seen in my life time. Even a total morons can see that Sarah Palin and her family were subjected to more vitriol than any other candidate. Is that typical lefty work? You betcha!
And it won’t stop with here.
I just pray that the left is unable to get all of their agenda pushed through in the next 2 years.
      Yes- 2 years.
Because when these dems come up for re-election, they will be decimated- if ACORN isn't successful.
BHO and the Demokrats were elected on promises of “openness and transparency,” yet rushed this massive bill through before Senators and Representatives in the middle of the night when could not even read it or before it could even have a minimal amount of public scrutiny. And the Messiah told us all this threatening crap about “this is an enormously dangerous situation, we must pass it fast, and get this done as fast as possible or we will be in deep trouble. Scare-monkeying tactics. That economic disaster looms if Congress doesn’t pass his economic stimulus package fast. Then he took a long weekend trip[ with his wife for a dinner in Chicago. In short, HE LIED!
I’m beginning to wonder about some of us Americans who are buying that crap from the Liberal party I’m thinking that they are just brain-dead or koolaide drinkers. I don’t trust any of them. Obama has made it clear that he surrounds himself with crooks, cheats and Marxists.
Sadly, Demokrats were joined by three turncoat Republicans, Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, all 3 of which should be purged from the Republican Party and handed over to the Socialist Demokrats who they side with all too often.
AND if Rahm Emanuel is put in charge of the census, we may as well all put our heads between our legs and kiss our a$$es goodbye.

  38. Elections sure have consequences
Most liberals around the country were flabbergasted to watch Donald Trump win the presidency. Shocked. Dumbfounded. Or, as those loyal British subjects who voted for Brexit would say, gobsmacked.

The White House had been a Leftist stronghold for 8 long, terrible years (as viewed from my eyeballs). Most liberals assumed they would control the government in this country forever. The mainstream media sure did. The pollsters absolutely believed that the Left was the majority this time around, as it seemed to be every four years.

Wrong. So wrong. And what does the left do now, once they come to finally realized that their agenda has just been repudiated by most Americans (those Americans who reside outside of liberal hell hole urban areas)? They burn cars, smash windows and destroy private businesses. The march out of their schools (after their teachers tell them to), and they protest with signs that say 'Not My President.
I have some news for you liberals out there: elections have consequences. If you don't like what just happened to you, go out there and win an election.

In the meantime, however, just shut the hell up, buck up and suck it up. Life will go on without you and your Commie liberal buddies calling the shots. It might not go on the way you want things to work, but it will go on. Take it or LEAVE it.

When putting all the results together, that means the first day of the recount narrowed the gap between Clinton and Trump by just a single vote. —Daily Caller
