Dr. Barbara Bellar, fired for speaking out against the ACA

An Oldie but a Goodie
Dr. BARBARA BELLAR
Sums Up Obamacare
In One Sentence
HILARIOUS!

DR. BELLAR’S TEXT
We are going to be gifted with a healthcare plan
We are forced to purchase, and fined if we don't;
Which purportedly covers at
least 10 million more people

Without adding a single new doctor, but

Provides for 16,000 new IRS agents;

Written by a committee whose chairman says
he doesn't understand it;

Passed by a Congress that didn't read it; but
Exempted themselves from it; and

Signed by a president who smokes;

With funding administered by a treasury chief
who didn't pay his taxes;

For which we will be taxed for four years
before any benefits take effect;

By a government which has already bankrupted
Social Security and Medicare;

All to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese; and

Financed by a country that's broke.

    1. What BS? It can't be mine, because I did not write the post.

      How could you possibly categorize anything Dr. Bellars said as "BS?"

      I defy you to find anything Dr, Bellars said that was not true.

  2. I'm not certain of what has become of our country. Honest, open, and informed debate of the issues has always been encouraged. Now we have a very vocal and vociferous Right-Wing, lunatic fringe that seems to be hijacking every discussion. We have a smart, and honest President who understands the value of education and the benefits to the entire country each time a person graduates from high school, vocational school, technical school, graduate school, or a professional school. Education and learning should be revered and not smeared. Is it wrong for the President of the United States to ask young people to do their best and stay in school? I think not! If the Bagger’s think uninformed opposition to a speech encouraging young Black people to persue their dreams and stay in school will help them in the 2010 elections, they are badly mistaken. Americans (I hope) are smarter than that. These Gobbers just get more ridiculous by the minute! One only has to read this blog to understand that.

    Why don't these hapless teabaggers just cut thru the B.S. and admitted their true feelings to the real fact they hated a black man who happens to be President. But they can't because they don't be labeled as racist and be castigated from the rest of society

      When have Obama critics criticized education?

    2. Normally I would delete a boilerplate screed of this nature, but yours is a good example of the bigoted, unimaginative, thoughtless, utterly dismal, reflexive mentality that now comprises a slim majority of the electorate.

      Insult and accusation are not valid substitutes for reasoned debate. If you can DISPROVE anything said by Dr Bellar, by all means go right ahead, but I doubt you can.

    3. MUCH more –– and much worse –– than "whining," SF. Loudly bitching, insulting, cursing, accusing, lamenting, upbraiding and excoriating in an irrational, highly offensive manner.

      If you will permit me to be perfectly frank, I think your responses to our sworn enemies are much too polite, mild-mannered and accommodating, (except your repartee with Jersey. ;-).

      The bastards won't love you for it, believe me, nor will they give you any quarter when push comes to shove.

    1. How said it must be, Jersey, to be as impervious to REASON as you appear!

      I'll issue the same challenge to you as I did to the flaming ideologue above:

    2. What reason? You're not fooling me. You can't stand that black guy named Obama in the White House and no matter what he or his party does you will always be against it. There are plenty of problems with the ACA and such, but you cons offer no fix whatsoever, just the sleaziest, nastiest, lowliest Social Darwinism and sycophancy. Meanwhile you flutter around your "Marxian-Fabian" shiny conspiracy silliness. Puh-lease.

    3. I'm disappointed in you. I had real hopes that you might break the mold that imprisons you, and come up with a substantive reply.

      You're doing the classic "Progressive" thing –– i.e. create a serious problem through aggressive, ill-conceived legislation, then chastise those who never wanted your dreadful influence in the first place for not fixing what YOU broke.

      Why should "WE" always be expected to clean up the messes that "YOU" make?

    4. You're disappointed?

      Have you been paying attention over these past years? Jersey is a dedicated leftwing obamabot, stuffed full of progressive propaganda and spreading like the manure that it is.

    5. We didn't break healthcare, Freethinke. Sleazy businessmen did that. We're trying to make it work. You only care if it works for you personally and not an inch in depth beyond that.

    6. Obama and the Democrats own healthcare in America. They broke it. Haven't you read the ACA to find out what's in it now that the Democrats unilaterally shoved it up our asses?

      There's no one left to blame, Jersey. It was a frenzied orgy of one-party rule. Own it.

    1. Often in our history superior, highly intelligent candidates have lost elections. WHen a superior candidate loses an election it speaks poorly for the intelligence of the voters not the candidate. Instead of being "hilarious," I find it dolorous that our country is burdened with a majority of selfish, shallow, empyt-headed fools too easily duped and too easily led by
      charlatans and fiends consumed by personal ambition.

  5. Put that way, ObamaCare really does sound like an impossible farce.

    The idea of covering more people under insurance really means almost nothing if the deductible for the policy is high -- around $6000. If one needs a subsidy for the ObamaCare premium, how would one come up with that amount of cash every year if back-to-back medical crises or chronic medical matters keep rolling on?

    Thank God that I got to keep my grandfathered policy~ My monthly premium went up, of course, and I still have my $5000 deductible, but I'm not on the government teat. Yet. In 1.5 years, I'll be getting Medicare.

    Full disclosure: I benefited from ObamaCare in one way -- pharmacy coverage. I didn't have that with my own policy until it kicked over into compliance with the ACA.

    1. Is there a more accurate, more succinct and more cogent way to describe the disaster of Obamacare, AOW?

      What the ACA does to you or to me or to Joanne Doakes, personally, is of little importance; it's the effect it is bound to have on the overall QUALITY and ACCESSIBILITY of medical care –– and the quality of life in our country by extension that matters.

      At best it is a "Robin Hood" scheme. The wretchedly poor may now be able to get medical insurance, but they are getting it at OUR expense, and the overall effect is BOUND to be a dilution and a diminution in the quality and availability of good care for those of us who've paid for it ourselves in years past.

      No matter how you twist it, and any way you try to slice it, this IS Marxism pure and simple, and it STINKS to HIGH HEAVEN.

      And take it from one who knows; your purported "savings" on drug costs will IMMEDIATELY be eaten up by ever increasing prices for medicines we used to buy for modest, affordable amounts on our own.

      George W. Bush did ME no favors by arranging for Medicare to pay part of Medicare recipients drug costs. Not only am I paying a great deal MORE the government now severely limits my ACCESSIBILITY by strictly limiting the number of pills any doctor may prescribe at a given time.

      So, –– as always –– your attempt –– ANY attempt –– to play 'fair" with the Devil is ALWAYS going to work to our detriment.

      Give Satan an inch, and the Fiend will take you for everything you have.

      Speaking of the ACA and what it's doing to our medical care...

      Right now I am desperately trying to place a phone call to our family doctor. I need to speak with him ASAP. All I get is the new digital system: "Leave a message." "Schedule an appointment online." Etc.

    3. Of course, and that is JUST the beginning. In another four or five years we may all be driven to commit virtual SUICIDE rather than having to deal with The System.

      The Objective of this accursed administration has been to eliminate every trace of PRIVILEGE, RANK and STATUS.

      Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain shall be made low, the crooked straight and the rough places plane, etc. Only THEY don't mean it in the sense that the Scriptures do. THEY mean to accomplish it by Main Force –– DESTRUCTION of ALL that WAS GOOD for SOME the GOOD of ALL.

      "They" would never admit it, of course, but that might just as well be their motto, for THAT is EXACTLY what they are doing.

      I'm beginning to regret the many acts of charity I've performed. A few more years of THIS, and we'll ALL be pauperized. And THAT is EXACTLY what "they" WANT. And the Republicans have no intention whatsoever of stopping them. Mark my words.

      The recent betrayal by Paul Ryan should prove the utter untrustworthiness of all in politics today.

      Indeed!

      Check with me later today to see I've managed to resolve anything related to Mr. AOW's PRESENT ACUTE HEALTH CRISIS.

      I'm quite concerned that the doctor's hands will be tied. Caring medical protocol demands that the doctor do particular things. Will the ACA allow him to do so? I'm not counting on it.

      Damn.

  6. Some humor from Medical Jokes and Cartoons:

    New Health Care Package

    Whether you are for or against………………

    The American Medical Association has weighed in on the new health care package. The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

    The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

    Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while the Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled, “Over my dead body!” while the Pediatricians said, “Oh, grow up!”

    The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and the Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow.

    The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would “put a whole new face on the matter”. The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

    Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn’t have the heart to say no.

    In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington.
