Welcome to the Oval Office!

The Sword of Damocles

“The Sword of Damocles,” as become a symbol of the imminent, ever-present peril faced by those in positions of power. The Damocles of the legend was an obsequious member of the court of Dionysi]us II, a 4th-century BC tyrant of Syracuse, Sicily.

According to the legend Damocles was pandering to Dionysius, his king, and exclaimed to him that Dionysius was truly fortunate to be a great man of such wealth, power and authority surrounded by magnificence.

In response, Dionysius offered to switch places with Damocles so that Damocles could experience that remarkable  degree of eminence for himself.

Damocles quickly and eagerly accepted the king's proposal. Damocles sat down in the king's throne surrounded by every luxury, but Dionysius arranged that a huge sword should hang above the throne, held in place by a just one hair of a horse's tail.

It wasn’t long before Damocles begged the king that he be allowed to depart because he no longer wanted to be so fortunate, realizing that with great fortune and power comes also great stress and grave danger.

Which of the following do you think
best defines President Trump’s
Sword of Damocles?

The Democratic Party?

Radical Islamic Terrorism?

The Oligarchical Globalists?

The State Department?

Gutless RINO's in the GOP?

The Deep State?

The Enemedia?

Any combination of the above,
or yet another factor?

Ask yourselves the following: If Obi-Nairobi was intent in interfering with the Presidential election in Israel, don’t you think he was just as intent, if not more so, in interfering with the Presidential election in the United States?

A shame Alinsky wasn't incinerated in the Holocaust, isn't it? But then that terrible event came too late to prevent him from doing the great harm he did. And people wonder why the Holocaust ever took place!

  3. While liberals make slobbering fools of themselves regarding Jeff Sessions and his meeting with a Russian Ambassador, insisting that he either recuse himself from any investigation related to the Trump administration and the Russians…which he has done…or resign over HIS meeting with Ambassador Kislyak…they forgot the old saying that “People who live in Glass Houses shouldn’t forget to close their own drapes”.

Liberals’s like Nancy Pelosi…Chuckles Schumer and Claire McCaskill have been pooping their collective pants over Sessions having had meetings with the Russian Ambassador, Kislyak, and have been demanding…DEMANDING…that Sessions resign because of it all.

Well…Chuckles is now seen in photos having a GREAT time with none other than…Vlad Putin…sucking down coffee and chomping on donuts.

Pelosi, who has claimed to have never had meetings with the Russian Ambassador…Kislyak…has been shown in a photo engaged in a fancy luncheon also attended by…Ambassador Kislyak.

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, when are you going to grow a brain?…

And Brit Hume, over at Fox and Friends stating , “The last time I was in the Senate dining room, Diane Feinstein was having lunch with the Russian speech at the joint session of Congress…Just try to guess who was the guest of the hypocritical liberals?

Yep, you guessed it! …Ambassador Kislyak…who was spotted and photographed chumming about with SEVERAL liberals AND who was SEATED with the liberals on the left side of the non-applauding of the aisle, the side where all those hypocritical liberals who were dressed in white and sitting on their hands? The Russian Ambassador Kislyak! Isn't that interesting.. Gee what a coincidence!
And these scoundrels want Jeff Sessions to resign?
Sure…according to the liberals, Jeff Sessions MUST resign because he met with Ambassador Kislyak…but Ambassador Kislyak can be THEIR guest, at a JOINT SESSION OF CONGRESS…no problem there, is there?
And that’s not all, no, I’m not done yet, did you know that Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was Obama’s White House guest and visited the Whit House AT LEAST 22 TIMES! Isn’t that hilarious? And they never called for Obama to resign! SO WHY IS IT AN ISSUE NOW?
Ambassador Kislyak was listed on the logs in July 2016, March 2016, January 2016, August 2015, April 2014, February 2014, May 2013, February 2013, November 2012, December 2011, July 2011, December 2010, October 2010, May 2010, April 2010, February 2010, March 2010, December 2009 and September 2009....Is that crickets I hear?

And lets not forget that Nancy Pelosi said she hadn’t met with any Russians. Despite the FACT there Russian’s including Ambassadors Kislyak at the table DIRECTLY across from Pelosi.
Was Nancy Pelosi a liar? Yes, apparently she was. !

They Were Bat Shit Crazy and lying their little Commie mouths off in typical Liberal fashion before and that was pretty cute and very entertaining for a while, but the desperation really set in once Trump called them out on Obama’s wire tapping.

Now these sick foaming at the mouth disease ridden dogs are going off the wall
When you decide to go to war against America as a political party, expect to take some heavy casualties. And trust me the casualties are about to be piling up.

    1. You disappoint me, Jersey. That's standard Party Line proopaganda, and you know it. Several have posted the exact same sentiment word for word without properly identifying themselves. I ZAPPED them for being stupidly irrelevant, and mulishly uncooperative with the purpose of this blog.

Surely you have more intelligence and a livelier imagination than merely to follow the common herd into the Doomsday Corral?

What you and the others have said is nothing more than a TOTAL REJECTION of the very fact that Donald J. Trump, whether you like it or not, IS the President of the United States of America.

Now, if you feel well enough to take the time needed to make a thoughtful, considerate, reasoned response, please tell us precisely WHY you would want Mr. Trump's presidency to fail?

"Because he is not a Democrat" is not an acceptable answer.

"Because I just fuckin hate his fuckin' guts" is not an acceptable answer either.

"Because he is not a Communist, and I AM," might be an honest, appropriate response, but until you freely admit your antipathy toward the U.S. Constitution, as written, and towards the Vision that motivated our Founders to risk "their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor" to fulfill that Vision, anything you say has to be regarded as mere flippancy, or mindless, reflexive partisanshit.

I KNOW you are better than that.

    2. It is, though. He really does have his fate in his own hands. If all these enemies had anything on him, he wouldn't be in the Oval Office right now. His now well-established tirade against Priebus and Bannon was the first sign I've seen that he's beginning to realize they are not guiding him down a path of history he wants for his legacy. I was happy to see it. The way he gravitated to the Ryan healthcare plan regardless of complaints from his right-wing (like that pathetic Mike Lee who called for immediately throwing millions off their insurance plans indefinitely), knowing it will only be further moved to the left to make it through, shows me he's beginning to feel the weight of the office, and how to better balance popular and/or good ideas.

But with his tweets, his rather poor judgement of character, his hiding his taxes and blurring his family business interests... it really is just him. He is his own Sword of Damocles. All figures like him are like that. He's nothing new. It just seems that way to us. Next it will be President Winfrey. Something tells me she'd be more polished, though.

    5. Rob, I get the impression that you may still be getting your information and form your opinions on the strength of the poisonous concoctions dished out daily by our "Mainstream Media."

You, apparently, believe JUST what THEY work very hard to CONVINCE you to believe.

The ENEMEDIA is even more corrupt and vile than President Trump has openly said they were.

The president's GENIUS has been his uncanny ability to CIRCUMVENT the biased, heavily distorted filter through which the ENEMEDIA gives their twisted, demented picture of reality.

With his "Tweets" Donald Trump has been able to speak DIRECTLY to until MILLIONS. He speaks in the language of the Common Man –– something we are not used to from politicians and other public figures who ALWAYS engage in circumlocution, double talk and speaking in riddles using many words to say absolutely NOTHING. The late President Obama was a past master at this. So was Bill Clinton, and look what THEY did for us!

Donald Tru[m would NEVER have been able to win the el
action if had NOT "Tweeted' incessantly. I am very happy he is continuing the practice, and am rooting for him INE HUNDRED PERCENT, unless or until he proves himself to be just another hypocritical charlatan who is working only for HIMSELF –– which is what most of the bastards in D.C. do.

Right now, however, I see him as "The Last Best Hope for These United States to survive intact.

Only time will tell of course, but I have FAITH in Mr. Trump.. I believe hje says what he means and means what he says.

  6. Democrats are Apparently Reincarnated From Monkeys, they fling Poop around hopping that somehow it might stick. It’s called POOPAGANDA!
Frankly, I don't give a damn who authored the idea of the wire taps, it's a rotten, vicious technique that effectively brainwashes the ignorant , and makes them lie even more that they usually do.
For example just listen to the speech that Chuckie Schumuckie Schumer made yesterday.
"It's beneath the dignity of the presidency. It is something that really hurts people's view of government."
"On the other hand, if it's true, it's even worse for the president," Schumer said.
"Because that means that a federal judge, independently elected, has found probable cause that the president, or people on his staff, have probable cause to have broken the law or to have interacted with a foreign agent."

How low can anyone get? No Chuck, Democrats have always accused others of exactly what they are doing themselves. I smell desperation. The Democrats, and the Liberal liberal press collude in trying to take down an elected President because they are SO frightened of him. I think that Chuckie Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have finally lost it. Personally I think that Schumer, and Pelosi should be forced to resign because the two of them are so damned Stupid!

    1. So you TOO reflexively consider the D'Rats to be the biggest threat to President Trump's potential success?

Maybe, but frankly your nakedly partisan paean of hatred and resentment is every bit as childish and unproductive as the D'Rats' response to President Trump's electoral victory.

If you have nothing POSTIVE, THOUGHTFUL and CONSTRUCTIVE to add to the conversation, it would be better to say nothing at all.

This is not an arena designed to accommodate SPLEEN VENTING.

We want to see something much more helpful than that in the constant battle to restore and maintain our LIBERTY –– a God-given RIGHT under the Constitution, and a concept that we appear to be LOSING because stupid partisan bickering has replaced serious, thoughtful, contemplative, CIVIL debate over the pros and cons of what our legislators propose to do.

In other words we need more light and less heat in our exchanges if our Representative Republic is to survive.

  7. Wiz Bang Ting Yang and Jersey McJones actually hit the nail on its head. Donald Trump really is the greatest threat to his presidency. I wish it weren't so because I want America to continue to succeed and remain the beacon of freedom and democracy around the world.

President Trump is not stupid. But IMO he is insecure and has erected a wall of machismo around himself as his defense. As a result he is tone deaf to anything that might puncture the wall he has built around himself.

Until such time as he opens up and focuses on facts, truth, shows empathy and understanding, and becomes President 24/7 he really is, IMO, a primary threat to his own presidency.

Democrats are a secondary threat to Trump. Just as Republicans were a secondary threat to President Obama. A threat that failed.

I din't know whether this oft recurring brand of cant and rhetoric is sincere, or whether it is simply part of an agreed upon strategy to do everything possible to spoil and negate President Trump's victory, because the side you obviously cling to is sore as a boiled owl, and utterly outraged that you suffered a resounding DEFEAT in the last election.

I thank yu for writing in measured prose and avoiding the vulgarity and childish, spiteful invective we see too often in the blogosphere, but that does not stop you from being DEAD WRONG.

But don't worry, IF Mr. Trump turns out to be just another politician unsuccessful in any effort to change the course of the Ship of State and move it in a healthier, more constructive direction, I will be among the first to denounce him, and work t .defeat him four years from now.

One may notice that in the land of the free and home of the brave that certain topics of conversation are censored from the media, the MSM. Dare not identify or name the owners or controllers of the media itself, that is off the table, so to speak.

I'm okay with Trump's style. I believe he's got the goods on the previous fudge packing occupant of the White House and the absolut fraud that Obama has perpetrated on the nation in close cooperation with many others who must not be named since they would all seem to be part of a larger pedphile and pederast ashington and global network.

    1. Since the beginning of human existence, Waylon, I'm sure that a sizable percentage of those who emerged as leaders of whatever form society has taken have been motivated by venality implemented by deceit, corruption, and treachery of one kind or another.

It is, as we used to say, "the nature of the beast."

Of course you are right in your understanding that certain very clever, very determined, absolutely ruthless and unprincipled elements have sought to profit by exploiting human weakness –– often on the pretense of wanting "help" the less fortunate.

I'm very much afraid that intrigue of this sort will always be with us, because –– as you rightly observe –– present standards of decency will not permit us to name, single out, and prosecute these "enemies within," and so too often they gain advantage and win by default the games they devise and virtually force the rest of us to play.

I doubt if anyone could ever live long enough to see how these dynamics play out when The End finally arrives.

  11. We would seem to be experiencing a pretty close duplicate of the almost fifty-year-old scandal that rocked the world and brought down President Nixon. But this time the Washington Post is trying to cover up the scandal, not bring it to light.

This might be a good moment to remind our young readers it was precisely this behavior, an administration in power spying on an opposing presidential campaign, and then trying to cover it up, that led to President Nixon’s removal from office. This was precisely what “Watergate” was all about. There are of course notable differences. This time the insurgent campaign won, the spying was done by administration agencies using the highest tech means, and papers like the Washington Post and New York Times are themselves complicit in the cover up rather than unmasking it.

    1. That sounds right to me, CI, although I have always maintained that Mr. Nixon was far more sinned against than sinning.. I believe he was naive, and had no idea how devious, dangerous and determined to "get him" the mainstream media of his day really were –– namely Katharine Meyer Graham and Ben Bradlee the Washington Post, of course.. Woodward and Bernstein merely after as their willing tools.

One of the great ironies of that sad affair was that Mr. Nixon was a very LIBERAL president by today's standards –– pro-union, pro-Labor, pro the Recognition of Red China, and pr-Environmentalism.

Back then, of course, the liberals were more moderate, and conservatives hardly existed. We were a very Middle of the Road country during the Eisenhower years –– much more moderate, and far less polarized than we are today. I know this for a fact, because I was there, though only a boy in elementary school the year IKE was elected.

Richard Nixon, was, however, a militant, and highly effective anti-Communist. So, because, –– as I believe we have discovered in recent years ––, the mainstream press has had Communist sympathies and a fierce anti-Conservative bias since the Progressive Era, Mr. Nixon HAD to go.

I believe President Nixon was certainly the victim of a journalistic coup d'etat. I think that may have been the first time anything like that had happened in our history.

The ENEMEDIA, as I insist on calling them, have been eager to repeat their triumph ever since. At least that is what I believe from long, increasingly unhappy observation.

    2. "Our young readers" have not likely heard of Ben Stein who happened to be part of the Nixon (speech writer, I think) but he appeared on CNN recently discussing the "similarities" between the Trump and Nixon administrations. Because of the publicity of Watergate nobody recalls anything favorable about Richard Nixon. And Ben Stein strongly asserts that Nixon did more good than evil during his terms as President.

Citing his opening of relation with China, beginning a peace process with the Soviets, ending the Viet Nam war were huge accomplishments in Stein's view. I think he's more right than wrong Watergate coverup notwithstanding.

Perhaps the CNN host interviewer didn't realize the nature of the expertise of her guest:

Globalists of all ilks are Trump's enemies, and that designation applies to all of the groups listed in the body of the blog post.

    1. I'd say that Judge Napolitano know what he's talking about, AOW.

Since Donald Trump came out with the bold claim that he had been wire tapped, after the initial shock the media have really gone deeply into denial. Almost all who speak about it assert that Obama could not order this on Trump. Judge shows good insight into this as he says that is not so and a request to the Atty. Gen. Holder is all he would have to do.

The media has been lying for so long to its audience that it is only becoming more bold faced over time and almost everything it says in defence of Obama is a lie.

Another interview which I will link below Judge Napolitano states that every key stroke on every computer key board and cell phone can be and is monitored. He's seen a FISA request for a request to monitor all of Verizon's customers.

And we can watch the media simply pretend this never happened. And that's after the years of lying to get HRC elected.

"he judge said Obama had the power to legally order a wiretap, saying it's directly in the FISA statute that "the president of the United States on his own may conduct surveillance or order surveillance of any person in the United States upon the filing of a certification with the attorney general."

However, he said he thinks Obama allegedly listening in on Donald Trump's phone calls and in-person conversations is "immoral, profoundly unconstitutional and utterly wrong."

"The last thing in the world the intelligence community wants is an investigation by the Congress which will expose how truly pervasive spying is," Napolitano said."

  14. Obama has been messing around with the wrong guy. Obama thinks he's all that and then some, struttin' his crap and using (abusing) his power to go after his political enemies for 8 years. Now it's his turn to be on the receiving end. Payback's a bitch, ain't it
Was Obama even aware North Korea was even a threat, or at the very least pursing to create a nuclear missile that could reach the United States? Was he even aware that the deal he made with Iran was not only dangerous, but insane? Apparently the previous administration hasn't done much of anything about it, as North Korea remains unphased by the United States In its pursuits of intercontinental nuclear capability.
But apparently it's OK if Obama, and company accuse Trump of conspiring with the Russians to “fix” the election.!
