A Succinct Appreciation of Existentialism
As Represented in French Cinema

Dedicated to our favorite antagonist, Monsieur Canard.

  1. Love that film. There are two others in that series but this one, #2, is the best, captures the genre to perfection. Thanks for posting it.

  2. Don't you love the aura exhausted ennui, self-pitying cynicism and spineless resignation to a life of hopelessness and perpetual dissatisfaction?

The background music is superb for the occasion.

  3. And Ayn Rand identified the malady in human existence so clearly demonstrated in collectivism. Sadly few listened or observed.

    Sigh...

  4. The white idiot begging for cheeseburgers must have been Ayn's representative in the clip.

  5. I love the Henri videos!

A former student, who is now a pipe organist, sent me an Henri video a while back -- this video, I think.

    Great stuff!

  6. Henri: "I'm surrounded by morons."

I can relate to that one on many levels!

  7. Duck,
I've had only one cat that really loved music. She grew up in the household of a professional piano concert artist. Charmer used to get up on the piano bench and "sing" whenever I played.

Charmer also walked on a leash.

Sadly, she was off her leash one day and tried to cross the busy road in front of my house. The end. **sigh**

  8. Perhaps you should make a video of Amber, AOW.

You could call it "The Kitten Who Conquered CaMIAOW." ;-)
