Hopeful Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton

Here’s a List of Hillary Clinton’s Accomplishments, So Please Quit Saying She Does’t Have Any

by Ryan Denson

There are many, many, many people who seem to think Hillary Clinton hasn’t accomplished anything. Apparently, being a First Lady, a Senator, as well as Secretary of State doesn’t count as accomplishments to her critics. But here is a very simple summary that encompasses Hillary Clinton and what she has accomplished throughout her life — Courtesy of a friend:
“First ever student commencement speaker at Wellesley College. Distinguished graduate of Yale Law School. Former Director of the Arkansas Legal Aid Clinic. Former civil litigation attorney. Former Law Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Former First Lady of Arkansas. Former First Lady of the United States, and the first FLOTUS in US History to hold a postgraduate degree. First ex-FLOTUS in US History to be elected to the United States Senate. Elected by the… State of New York to serve two terms in the United States Senate. Former US Secretary of State. GRAMMY Award Winner. Author. Self proclaimed Pantsuit Aficionado. Married to a man named Bill, who plays the saxophone.”

H. Rodham Clinton, champion of women and children ain't in no way tired.
You don’t have to like Hillary Clinton or her ideas. I get it. She’s a Democrat, a progressive (in most eyes), and conservatives don’t like that. However, you cannot say she does not have any accomplishments. Here are just a few:
Even though her major initiative, the Clinton healthcare plan, failed (due to Republican obstruction), you cannot deny that it laid ground for what we have today, the Affordable Healthcare Act, something Clinton supports and would continue.

She played a leading role in the development of State Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provides the much-needed state support for children whose parents cannot afford nor provide them with adequate healthcare coverage.

She was also instrumental in the creation of the Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Foster Care Independence Act.

Successfully fought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and asthma at the National Institute of Health (NIH).

She spearheaded investigations into mental illness plaguing veterans of the Gulf War; we now have a term for it – Gulf War Syndrome.

At the Department of Justice, she helped create the office on Violence Against Women.

She was instrumental in securing over $21 billion in funding for the World Trade Center redevelopment.

Took a leading role in the investigation of health consequences of first responders and drafted the first bill to compensate and offer the health services our first responders deserve (Clinton’s successor in the Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand, passed the bill).

Was instrumental in working out a bi-partisan compromise to address civil liberty abuses for the renewal of the U.S. Patriot Act.

Proposed a revival of the New Deal-era Home Owners’ Loan Corporation to help homeowners refinance their mortgages in the wake of the 2008 financial disaster.

Was a major proponent of sensible diplomacy which brought about a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and brokered human rights with Burma.

Oversaw free trade agreements with our allies such as Panama, Colombia, and South Korea.

The Clinton Foundation, founded by her and her husband, has improved the living conditions for nearly 400 million people in over 180 countries through its Initiative program.

These are not all of her accomplishments. Her activism on behalf of women a children across the world is renowned. Her activism for raising the minimum wage and combating climate change is stellar. You do not have to support what she does or stands for. But do not say she doesn’t have any accomplishments. The conservatives who say this are the ones who are pushing for Ted Cruz – who brought on a $24 billion shut down. That, to them, is an accomplishment.
Yes, Hillary Clinton has accomplishments. You don’t have to like them, but they do, in fact, exist.

Haven't you ignored the above published list of all her solid accomplishments in the field of public health and on behalf of hundreds millions of women and children all over the world?

Does that count for nothing in your biased view?

  5. So, she was a senator for seven years and she brought home the bacon. How does that distinguish her from any other senator?

She was SecDef who led Obama's JV Team full of amateur girl warlords and international firebugs in wrecking the muslim world even worse than Bush-Cheney did, resulting in the worst refugee crisis Europe has ever seen...

We've suffered through two successive failed presidencies. We cannot afford a third.

    1. thank you for a least attempting to address the subject of the post, but I had seriously hoped to see a discussion on the relative merits –– or lack thereof –– in EACH of the points cited as proof that H. Rodham Clinton has made worthwhile ACHIEVEMENTS since her tenure as our First Lady Cuckold.

From what i've been able to gather (admittedly not much!) her accomplishments seem of dubious value, largely rhetorical and symbolic.

The article posted was obviously written by a pro-leftist. The bias shows a mile, but that may not stop it from being factual –– as far as it goes.

The question I had hoped to address was "DOES it GO FAR ENOUGH?"

Which is why I discount them out of hand and don't waste time talking about them.

Her botch job as Sec State zeros that out, so Dr. Carson is as qualified to be president as she is, and he would make a much better and wiser one.

What the writer meant to say, was that the Clinton Crime Syndicate has improved the living conditions of Bill, Hillary, their dog-faced daughter and their cronies by squashing 400 million people and allowing Bill to molest young girls in over 180 countries.

    2. I think you about have it right, Mr. Rackley. Brazen effrontery, an uncanny ability to lie with a straight face ("I did not have sex with that woman ..." and "The death of our ambassador to Libya was caused by an amateur video," etc.) and a monstrous kind of inner strength that enables them NEVER, EVER to ACCEPT BLAME, ADMIT GUILT, or SHOULDER RESPONSIBILITY for Policy Failure, Shady Dealings, Moral Opprobrium, or Poor Judgment characterizes the Clintons very well, I would say.

According to the Clintons the smoke that continually surrounds them ALWAYS comes from Someone ELSE'S Fire –– a position aided, abetted and loudly supported by their lackeys who dominate the ubiquitous enemedia.

More funds for research relating to rostate cancer? Typically, it is best left untreated, particularly if prostate cancer appears after a certain age. This has been widespread medical knowledge since at least 1985.

    1. Not exactly accurate. Over 70 or in poor health are generally classified in the 'treatment optional' category and may find aggressive treatment difficult. For anyone in otherwise good health and those under 70, however, early detection and treatment is a major benefit.

    2. Ed,
      From your helpful link:

Choosing among treatment options is complicated even further by the explosion of newer types of surgery (laparoscopic prostatectomy and robotic-assisted prostatectomy) and radiation therapy (intensity-modulated radiation therapy, proton beam radiation, etc.) in recent years. Many of these seem very promising, but there is very little long-term data on them, which means comparing their effectiveness and possible side effects is very difficult, if not impossible.

    3. I would also add that, although the American Cancer Society is a wonderful organization, it does have a penchant for promoting that patients serve as guinea pigs. Just sayin'.

    4. Cancer, as most should know, is an umbrella term. It is not just ONE disease; instead it is a highly complex GROUP of afflictions with certain similarities that bind them together. All forms are undesirable, of course, but some are severe and virtually untreatable, Others like certain skin cancers are milder and eminently more treatable than others.

There is more than one kind of prostate cancer. At least one strain is known for being highly aggressive. It can metastasize and kill very quickly if not treated. Most of the time it kills anyway, despite treatment.

It has long been my personal position that those afflicted with increasingly painful, highly debilitating, horrifyingly expensive diseases should be equipped with a SUICIDE KIT that would deliver death instantly and painlessly.

This KIT could –– and should –– be used whenever and wherever the PATIENT decides he has suffered long enough.

In these dire cases close personal friends, family members and whatever medical personnel may be in attendance should be empowered to administer instant, painless DEATH without fear of reprisal whenever it seems a better alternative to a tortured existence.

  19. She was pretty good at State. No big signature achievements, but in life sometimes that happens. Remember, like Obama, she walked into a real mess. By the time she left, though much of the mess remained, the US remained in a solid position, and we were not embroiled in any new messes of our creation. The Right is, let's face it, a little dumb. They want simple answers to their simple questions, but in a complex world, such answers are rarely forthcoming and such questions are just not important at all. She did a good job, overall.

Jim Webb and Martin O'Malley are in the race, but they can't even rise above the noise floor.

      Delete
    5. Jersey, I applaud you for taking a moderate, reasonable tone, even though I don't think Mrs. Clinton achieved anything worthwhile during her tenure at State. In the upcoming "debates," it looks as though H. Rodham Clinton will be in the peculiar position of debating only an out-of-the-closet SOCIALIST and two cyphers who cannot seem to gain enough traction to justify continuing their candidacies.

What might your idea of a "stupid question" be? Anything that might tend to cast doubt on the woman's integrity, sincerity, soundness of judgment, and true motivation for wanting to be president, suppose. isn't that about it? ;-)

      Delete
    6. Well, anything about Bernie being a "socialist" would be stupid. More than one or two questions about "emails" should be enough, but beyond that would be stupid. Anything about "Benghazi" would be stupid. Anything about Trump would be stupid. Demanding a list of "accomplishments" would be redundant, and stupid, as Clinton will surely regale us all on her greatness and not-stiffness.

But I'm sure there are plenty of other stupid questions we haven't even heard yet, so there's something to look forward to. :|

If you deem off topic we ask your kind indulgence nevertheless. We thank you in advance for your consideration.

Reading through the comments it is clearly obvious that most folks are more interested in agendas pushed in 30 second sound bites by various candidates and the talking heads working in the various cable networks. Substantive though and earnest discussion is further from most folks minds than is the distance to Alpha Centauri. Which is of course approximately 4.22 light years away and is the nearest star to our own.

Unfortunate as it is this nation is really not interested in the important issues or preserving the republic our forefathers entrusted all future generations with. Time changes and with changing times adaptation is necessary if we are to become among the survivors. Thus far we have survived. It remains to be seen for how much longer.

Thanks for your consideration. Enjoy the moment. There may not be all that many left.

PS: Talk with each other, not at each other with contemp.
