Laws are for the
Little People

Steyn on America

October 19, 2016

As I've said for years –– on radio, TV and in print –– for me the overriding issue in American politics is the corruption. In the Obama era, we have seen the remorseless merging of the party and the state –– in the IRS, in the Justice Department and elsewhere. Whatever one feels about, say, Scandinavia, they at least come to their statism and socialism more or less honestly. Not so the United States.

It's bad enough that Democrats aren't agitated about this corruption –– but then it works to their advantage. Slightly more mysterious is why so many of my friends on the right aren't incensed by it. For months, conservative commentators assured us that, when it comes to straight arrows, no arrow is straighter than FBI honcho James Comey –– non-partisan, career public servant, will follow the evidence whereso'er it leads; why, "no one in law enforcement" is "more capable of navigating through a political maelstrom" and any attempts to politicize the outcome will ensure that "Comey will resign in protest, and other high-level FBI officials could follow him out the door”.

All bollocks. Bollocks on stilts. Like everything else the Clintons touch, Comey's FBI is hopelessly corrupted –– and certainly more corrupt than J Edgar Hoover's FBI, at least in the sense that Hoover was independent enough not to get rolled. The revelations of what happened reveal Comey to be a hack and a squish: he offered immunity to Hillary's aides not to facilitate his investigation but to obstruct any further investigation; he allowed witnesses to Hillary's crimes to serve as her "lawyers"; and he physically destroyed the evidence –– that is, the laptops. A 6' 8" gummi worm would be more of a straight arrow.

Now come the latest revelations.

Powerline's John Hinderaker writes:

In the first page, an unidentified FBI employee says he was "pressured" to change the classification of an email to render it unclassified. This pressure came from someone within the FBI, who said he had been contacted by Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy, who "had asked his assistance in altering the email's classification in exchange for a 'quid pro quo.'" The quid pro quo was that, if the FBI would say the email was unclassified, the State Department would allow the FBI to "place more Agents in countries where they are presently forbidden.”

So, to add to the corrupt revenue agency and the corrupt justice department, we now have a corrupt national law enforcement agency and a corrupt foreign ministry –– willing, indeed, to subordinate national security and its own diplomatic policy to the personal needs of Hillary Clinton.

Needless to say, if you get your news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, etc, etc, you will be entirely unaware of all this.

Which is the way they plan on operating for the next eight years.

A small but telling point: Wikileaks' Julian Assange has lived in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for over four years. But not until he leaked against Hillary was his Internet cut off. Hillary, out of office, has a swifter and more ruthless global reach than Hillary in office on the night of Benghazi. And, should she win, her view of her subjects is that we should have the same information access as Ecuadorian Embassy refugees.

John Hinderaker continues:

We have here a clear pattern of corruption that makes Watergate look like child's play. Hillary's aide, Patrick Kennedy, tried to bribe the FBI to change the classification of a Benghazi document so as to enable Hillary's false claim that she didn't send or receive classified information on her illegal home server. The FBI, to its credit, refused. (James Comey wasn't involved at that stage.)

Hillary's aide then asked whether the FBI would be saying anything publicly about the classification issue. Once assured that the FBI would be silent, Hillary took the stage and alleged publicly, and falsely, that she never used her illegal home server to send or receive classified information…

Donald Trump has his faults, but Hillary Clinton is far too corrupt to serve as President of the United States.

On that last point, I agree wholeheartedly. In any society, the chief magistrate's first duty is to uphold the law, and throughout human history his easiest temptation, once in office, has been to regard himself as above it. In this case, the American people would be electing someone who, not yet in office, is already above the law, and way beyond it. (Even her bodily fluids are above the law.) That would be an extraordinary act, and Hillary and her cronies would be entirely justified in treating such an electorate with utter contempt.

As for today's impotent and ineffectual Republican establishment, they'll look like rock-ribbed steel-spined titans compared to the husks that will remain after two Hillary terms.

The corruption might not seem directly relevant to the rise of Donald Trump, but it's there, implicitly. The present arrangements work for the political class, the permanent bureaucracy, their client groups, and the lawless. But not for millions of the law-abiding.

Consider illegal immigration, for example, which pre-Trump was entirely discussed in terms of the interests of the lawbreakers –– how to "bring them out of the shadows", how to give them "a path to citizenship", celebrate their "family values" and "work ethic" –– and never in terms of the law-abiding, whose wages they depress, whose communities they transform, and, in too many criminal cases, whose lives they wreck.

Victor Davis Hanson writes:

Something has gone terribly wrong with the Republican party, and it has nothing to do with the flaws of Donald Trump. Something like his tone and message would have to be invented if he did not exist. None of the other 16 primary candidates — the great majority of whom had far greater political expertise, more even temperaments, and more knowledge of issues than did Trump — shared Trump's sense of outrage — or his ability to convey it — over what was wrong: The lives and concerns of the Republican establishment in the media and government no longer resembled those of half their supporters.

That's exactly right. This time last year, to prevent Trump all you had to do was convey that same sense of outrage.

As I wrote on July 10th 2015 - a mere month after Trump entered the race:

Trump, like other philosophically erratic politicians from Denmark to Greece, has tapped into a very basic strain of cultural conservatism: the question of how far First World peoples are willing to go in order to extinguish their futures on the altar of “diversity".

As Ann Coulter's new book Adios, America! lays out in remorseless detail, Kate Steinle is dead because the entire Democratic Party, two-thirds of the Republican Party and 100 per cent of the diseased federal-state-municipal bureaucracy prioritizes myths over reality. Yes, it's distressing to persons of taste and discrimination that the only person willing to address that reality is Donald Trump. But that's because he's not the reality-show freak here. The fake-o lame-o reality freakshow is the political pseudo-campaign being waged within the restraints demanded by the media and Macy's.

So, if Donald Trump is the only guy willing to bust beyond those bounds, we owe him a debt of gratitude. If, as Karl Rove proposes, other candidates are able to talk about the subject in a more "inclusive" way, so be it. But, if "inclusive" is code for not addressing it at all, nuts to that.

I think we now know that "inclusive" is code for not addressing it at all, and that, if Trump loses next month, that's what the GOP establishment will go right back to doing.

Will he lose? Given that he's running against both the Democrats and half the Republican Party, he remains tenaciously just about competitive.

But Victor explains where the math comes up short:

What has always been missing to end the long public career of Hillary Clinton is a four- or five-percentage-point boost from a mélange of the so-called Never Trump Republicans, as well as women and suburban, college-educated independents. Winning back some of these critics could translate into a one- or two-point lead over Clinton in critical swing states.

Many of those openly supporting Hillary among the right-of-center pundit class are people I have known and worked with over the years –– from Dorothy Rabinowitz to Max Boot to (he's considering it) Glenn Beck. I don't quite get this.

As Victor puts it:

In this low-bar presidential race, why do conservative establishmentarians and past foreign-policy officials feel a need to publish their support for the Democratic candidate, when their liberal counterparts feel no such urge to distance themselves from their own nominee? Is what Clinton actually did, in leaving Iraq abruptly, or lying about Benghazi, or violating federal security laws, so much less alarming than what Trump might do in shaking up NATO or "bombing the hell out of ISIS”?

Just so. Trump is an unknown. But, to channel Donald Rumsfeld, Hillary is the most known known in the history of knowns. And what we know of her is that she's stinkingly corrupt, above the law, and able to suborn entire government agencies in the cause of her corruption. Where do you think we're gonna be after eight years of that?

Oh, and it will be eight years. The NeverTrumpers are saying, "Don't worry. We'll get it right in 2020", just like after 2012 they said, "Don't worry. We'll get it right in 2016", and after 2008 they said, "Don't worry. We'll get it right in 2012."

Next time never comes. There are no tomorrows for the Republican Party, because, unlike the GOP, the Democrats use their victories very effectively.

Victor Davis Hanson lives on a small family farm in rural California, at the sharp end of the artificial and lawless demographic transformation of a once Golden State. With respect to my former colleagues in the New York and Washington commentariat, I don't think they have any idea of how bleak life is in many parts of this country. And I don't mean Jimmy Carter-like "malaise" –– a brief blip after three decades of post-war prosperity –– but bleakness as a permanent feature of life.

Perhaps I'm touchy about the corruption because I'm a foreigner and I've lived in countries with clean government. Perhaps I'm sensitive to the contempt in which a put-upon middle-class is held because I've spent much of the last year in wealthy first-world countries (France, Sweden, Germany) that are on the verge of implosion over their delusional immigration policies. But the indifference from influential conservatives to both the despair and the naked corruption is deeply disturbing.

Think of what the last eight years have wrought –– Obamacare, a weaponized IRS, six-figure fines for homophobic bakeries –– and then pitch America forward to 2024. Picture the most absurd scenario you can concoct –– say, a federal transgender-bathroom regime. Oh, no, wait, we've already got that.

The left is serious about power, and they don't waste time. The idea that the most personally corrupt candidate in modern American history will govern as some sort of benign moderate centrist placeholder until the wankers who thought Jeb Bush was a superstar shoo-in come up with their next inspiration is utterly preposterous.

Her spectre looms large, doesn't it?

  1. Yes, it's distressing, and depressing that the only person willing to address the reality of what is really going on in America, the real shape that our country is in both economical and military is Donald Trump. But that's because he's not the reality-show freak like Hillary portrayed him at the last debate. The real lame reality freakshow is the political campaign being waged by the DMC, Hillary's Csmp, and the leftist media that she seems to have in her pocket....Baught and Paid for!

So, if Donald Trump is the only guy willing to bust beyond those bounds, and who is not afraid to tell it like it is, to NO MATTER WHO, and about NO MATTER WHO, we owe him a debt of gratitude. Because no other candidates will. NO, no other candidate will , be them Democratic, or Deplorable Republican, no one has the GUTS that Donald Trump has. And perhaps that is what is hurting him now, but he dosent see it that way, and even if he did, it wouldn't stop him.

I think we now know by now, that if Trump loses next month, that it will be a great part of the GOP establishments fault.

Will he lose? Given that he's running against both the Democrats and half the Republican Party, he remains tenaciously just about competitive.
But win or lose, we owe him a great deal of our gratitude for putting up a great fight, and saying what we ALL have felt for the past. 8 horrible years.

Thank you for brightening my day. Your lopsided, hopelessly partisan, belligerently bigoted approach to political discourse is so grotesquely SILLY it sounds like self-parody.

NOW HEAR THIS: If Mr. Trump had done anything ILLEGAL with his taxes, do you honestly believe that the criminally corrupt, morally depraved, viciously partisan, avowedly left-leaning IRS would not have railroaded him into jail by now?

There's no "there" there in Mr. Trump's tax forms. It's a Red Herring, babycakes –– a CANARD –– a RUSE –– you and your stupid, seditious kind are trying to use to DISTRACT and DIVERT public attention from the HUGE and constantly growing amount of PROOF that your dear Hillary is not only a BITCH, a LIAR and a pious FRAUD, she is also a career CRIMINAL whose incompetence, and downright traitorous behavior would have put any other miscreant in Leavenworth for many many years.

Our Dear Lesder Barack Hussein Obama may not have the guts, or the Balls, or even the will to call the Islamic Radical Muslims exactly what they are, a Pack of Vicious Animals, who doesn't even desk to be called part of the Human Race. Or perhaps, he may be afraid of offending his brother Islamic Maniacs. And perhaps if he speak the truth about his Jihadist and ISIS brothers he may be thrown out of the "Brotherhood" or even perhaps he doesn’t see anything wrong with their practices?

However, I am under no such obligation, to this pack of Animals, and I offer my apologies to the Animals.

I am amazed at the hypocrisy of the Left who defends Islam, and our dear leader. I am not surprised by it but I find it amazing that these supposedly "peaceful" Muslims can stand idly by as a herd of Islamic TERRORISTS do what they do in the name of their religion, and they are given a pass by the other Religious Groups of the World.
I have to seriously question this *Religion of Peace* thing, you see, I am convinced that their *religion* is nothing more than a sick and Wacked-Out murderous cult that hasn’t progressed since the 7th century. and doses not belong in the sane society as the rest of us do.

  7. Hillary Clinton loves attacking Donald Trump using fear tactics that harken back to the presidential campaigns of Lyndon Johnson and Barry Goldwater. You may recall that Johnson attacked Goldwater with one of the most famous political ads of all time, the “daisy” TV spot that convinced many voters that Goldwater was a reckless politician who might be irresponsible with our nation’s nuclear weapons.

However, in her efforts to drum up fear among the populace, the former secretary of state appears to have revealed sensitive information about United States national security, specifically timeframes involved in the launch of nuclear weapons.

When attacking Donald Trump at the last presidential debate over whether he should be trusted with nation’s nuclear codes, Clinton did what she’s become notorious for doing — exposing sensitive or even potentially classified government information to people who shouldn’t have access to it.

She will continue the same failing policies of Obama and even worse and this country cannot survive that. We cannot allow her to be elected president. We need Donald Trump.

He will stop the aggression with Russia that is mounting because our liberal leaders are failing miserably and only making it worse. He will also turn this economy around.

An adulterer, an authoritarian, the nations biggest liar, a sexual predator, a man void of moral character, an extreme narcissist who is psychological unfit for office, a man totally clueless of national and world affairs AND reality in general, a man who has shown time and time again he is a threat to democracy and our democratic republic.

Is Hillary a poor candidate? YES. Is she by far better than Donald? ABSOLUTELY. Every single American's civil liberties, religious liberties, an opportunity for just treatment will be more secure under a Clinton presidency.

It is smarter to look to 2020 and hopefully a true classical liberal with a real understanding of our Constitution AND respect for laws and institutions. Donald J. Trump has most definitely demonstrated he has neither.

  18. Laws are for the little people...

from the Jowett Introduction to Plato's "Laws" 'Those are excellent words.' Yes; but may I tell you the effect which the preceding discourse has had upon me? I will express my meaning in an address to the lawgiver:—O lawgiver, if you know what we ought to do and say, you can surely tell us;—you are not like the poet, who, as you were just now saying, does not know the effect of his own words. And the poet may reply, that when he sits down on the tripod of the Muses he is not in his right mind, and that being a mere imitator he may be allowed to say all sorts of opposite things, and cannot tell which of them is true. But this licence cannot be allowed to the lawgiver. For example, there are three kinds of funerals; one of them is excessive, another mean, a third moderate, and you say that the last is right. Now if I had a rich wife, and she told me to bury her, and I were to sing of her burial, I should praise the extravagant kind; a poor man would commend a funeral of the meaner sort, and a man of moderate means would prefer a moderate funeral. But you, as legislator, would have to say exactly what you meant by 'moderate.' 'Very true.' And is our lawgiver to have no preamble or interpretation of his laws, never offering a word of advice to his subjects, after the manner of some doctors? For of doctors are there not two kinds? The one gentle and the other rough, doctors who are freemen and learn themselves and teach their pupils scientifically, and doctor's assistants who get their knowledge empirically by attending on their masters? 'Of course there are.' And did you ever observe that the gentlemen doctors practise upon freemen, and that slave doctors confine themselves to slaves? The latter go about the country or wait for the slaves at the dispensaries. They hold no parley with their patients about their diseases or the remedies of them; they practise by the rule of thumb, and give their decrees in the most arbitrary manner. When they have doctored one patient they run off to another, whom they treat with equal assurance, their duty being to relieve the master of the care of his sick slaves. But the other doctor, who practises on freemen, proceeds in quite a different way. He takes counsel with his patient and learns from him, and never does anything until he has persuaded him of what he is doing. He trusts to influence rather than force. Now is not the use of both methods far better than the use of either alone? And both together may be advantageously employed by us in legislation.

We may illustrate our proposal by an example. The laws relating to marriage naturally come first, and therefore we may begin with them. The simple law would be as follows:—A man shall marry between the ages of thirty and thirty-five; if he do not, he shall be fined or deprived of certain privileges. The double law would add the reason why: Forasmuch as man desires immortality, which he attains by the procreation of children, no one should deprive himself of his share in this good. He who obeys the law is blameless, but he who disobeys must not be a gainer by his celibacy; and therefore he shall pay a yearly fine, and shall not be allowed to receive honour from the young. That is an example of what I call the double law, which may enable us to judge how far the addition of persuasion to threats is desirable. 'Lacedaemonians in general, Stranger, are in favour of brevity; in this case, however, I prefer length. But Cleinias is the real lawgiver, and he ought to be first consulted.' 'Thank you, Megillus.' Whether words are to be many or few, is a foolish question:—the best and not the shortest forms are always to be approved. And legislators have never thought of the advantages which they might gain by using persuasion as well as force, but trust to force only. And I have something else to say about the matter. Here have we been from early dawn until noon, discoursing about laws, and all that we have been saying is only the preamble of the laws which we are about to give. I tell you this, because I want you to observe that songs and strains have all of them preludes, but that laws, though called by the same name (nomoi), have never any prelude. Now I am disposed to give preludes to laws, dividing them into two parts—one containing the despotic command, which I described under the image of the slave doctor—the other the persuasive part, which I term the preamble. The legislator should give preludes or preambles to his laws. 'That shall be the way in my colony.' I am glad that you agree with me; this is a matter which it is important to remember. A preamble is not always necessary to a law: the lawgiver must determine when it is needed, as the musician determines when there is to be a prelude to a song. 'Most true: and now, having a preamble, let us recommence our discourse.' Enough has been said of Gods and parents, and we may proceed to consider what relates to the citizens—their souls, bodies, properties,—their occupations and amusements; and so arrive at the nature of education.

Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Trump, Trump, like some ghastly, grotesque operatic overture. Trump, Trump, Trump, the boys are marching; marching like the boot heels of goose stepping Trump Troopers trampling respect, compassion, freedom, truth and the fabric of decency - the remains of Democracy.

I no longer take my second cup of coffee and watch the news and weather in the morning. It's nothing but Trump today as it was Trump yesterday and the day before. Three days of conjecture about the upcoming debate. Three weeks until it's over, How long until he starts taking prisoners, rounding up undesirables, sending them somewhere.

Heil Trump, he'll make Deutschland America great again - soon - after we remove those elements rotting our greatness. It was a disaster, remember, a Disaster. Mexicans groping your wife, you daughter, your mother, remember?

It alleges then-U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton conspired with Naglaa Mahmoud, the wife of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, to incite domestic insurrections to oust Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. El-Sisi is the Egyptian general who has been commander in chief of the Egyptian armed forces, as well as minister of defense, since Aug. 12, 2012. The charges stem from Hillary’s involvement in the disastrous “Arab Spring.”

There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton is one of the worst things to ever happen to America. She is quite literally a one-woman wrecking crew. As the absolute worst secretary of state that we’ve ever had – and that’s saying even comparing her to the current clown serving as Secretary of State – John Kerry. 26. The nation would no longer be ruled by the people and their elected representatives, but by unelected, unaccountable, activist judges who would dictate from the bench about whatever they were pleased to decree. And there would be nothing in our system of government that anyone could do to stop them.

That is why this election is not just about Hillary Clinton. It is about defeating the far left liberal agenda that any Democratic nominee would champion. Liberal Democrats are now within one Supreme Court justice of their highest goal: gaining permanent control of the nation with a five vote majority on the Supreme Court, and then relentlessly imposing every liberal policy on the nation not through winning elections but through a relentless parade of one Supreme Court decision after another.
On abortion, a liberal court would probably find the ban on partial-birth abortion to be unconstitutional (it was upheld by only a 5-4 majority in Gonzalez v. Carhart, 2007). In addition, the court could find an absolute “right to abortion” in the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and then sweep away with one decision most or all of the restrictions on abortion that pro-life advocates worked for tirelessly over the last 43 years, including ultrasound requirements, waiting periods, parental consent requirements, and prohibitions on non-doctors performing abortions.

Voters should not doubt the power of the Supreme Court to abolish all these laws restricting abortions. Think of the power of the Obergefell v. Hodges 5-4 decision in June, 2015. It instantly nullified all the work that thousands of Christians had done over many years in persuading the citizens of 31 states to pass constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. But no one is campaigning for such laws or amendments anymore, because it would be futile. The Supreme Court has spoken, and therefore the issue is settled in the political system of the United States. We lost – not at the ballot box, but because we had a liberal Supreme Court that nullified the democratic process regarding the definition of marriage.

So it would certainly be with any efforts to place legal limitations on abortion. Nobody would campaign any more for laws to limit abortions, because any such laws would be unconstitutional. The legislative lobbying work of pro-life advocacy groups would be totally and utterly defeated. Millions of unborn children would continue to die.

    Religious liberty

The current liberal agenda often includes suppressing Christian opposition to its views. So a liberal court would increasingly nullify rights of conscience with respect to forced participation in same-sex marriage ceremonies or expressing moral objections to homosexual conduct. Already Christians are being pushed out of many occupations. Florists, bakers, and professional photographers have had their businesses destroyed by large fines for refusal to contribute their artistic talents to a specific event, a same-sex wedding ceremony to which they had moral objections.

Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran in Atlanta was removed from his job because of self-publishing a religious book that briefly mentioned the Bible’s teachings regarding non-marital sexual conduct, including homosexuality, amidst a host of other topics. His situation holds ominous implications for any Christians who hold public sector jobs. In our military services, many high-ranking officers have quietly been forced to resign because they were unwilling to give support to the homosexual agenda.

Mozilla/Firefox CEO Brendan Eich was pushed out from his own company merely because he had donated money to Proposition 8 in California, supporting marriage between one man and one woman. This event has troubling implications for Christians in any corporate executive role who dare to support a political position contrary to the liberal agenda.

We now learn the wife of Comey's #2 at the FBI ( Andrew McCabe) ran for political office in Virginia as a Democrat, and accepted over half-a-million from Clinton-connected organizations. DC is an overgrown junkyard, and all the roots are intertwined.

  30. Here’s my question to those taking what they consider to be the "Moral High Ground… because Trump used the word "Pussy"!

Do you really believe that by not voting for Donald Trump, you are not helping Hillary get elected? Well you are! You certainly are!

And while we’re on the topic of moral high ground…I have to ask you do you really believe that a 3rd party or write-in candidate can win this election... If not, they you are really voting for Hillary Clinton.

Exactly what moral high ground are you occupying when your morals dictate that your actions will allow the ilk of another Obamaesque or yet another Clinton, occupy the Oval Office?
And while we are talking about Moral high ground, is allowing Hillary to win, to sooth your conscience is taking the moral high ground?
With whom do your morals and consciences more closely align on the whole of foreign policy?

With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on the most important domestic policies?

With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align with job creation? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on our overall economy? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on Obamacare? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on the IRS, the EPA and the Education Department?

With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on taxes, on trade, on energy and on welfare?
With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align when it aby-7comes to the balance of the Supreme Court? Because the next president will be making appointments not only to that court but to all federal courts whose ramifications will be in full effect not just for the next 4 years, but for the next 40 years or more.

A Hillary Presidency means the completion of Obama’s desire to fundamentally transform America. It means non-stop government intrusion into our private lives, the shredding of the Bill of Rights with the 2nd Amendment being the first to go…it means being mandated to accept TENS of THOUSANDS of unvetted Islamic “refugees” and it means that our nation’s borders will be erased. It means that the welfare rolls will grow unchecked, that the jobs creators will be regulated out of existence and that success, the pinnacle of the American Dream will be GONE!.

On the foreign policy side of things…our allies will never trust us again, and our enemies will never have another reason to fear us.
That’s what the Moral High Ground voters are going to do for us!…

He decided to ignore the orders form Obama administration and did what millions of Americans expected from him – started to investigate Hillary so that finally she will end up where she belongs – jail!

Multiple FBI investigations have been launched into possible corruption charges against the Clinton Foundation as requested in a letter written by House Republicans on July 15th.

We already reported that the several government organizations have been sequestered to investigate the Clinton Foundation on corruption charges. A letter written and signed by 64 House Republicans states that “recently discovered information about the Clinton Foundation portrays a lawless enterprise.” The letter formally asks that the IRS, the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission begin looking into the allegations.

However, James Comey has already been stopped by the Department of Justice once in an attempt to prosecute Clinton. This time however, he has sought legal assistance from outside of the DOJ and he will not be hindered again by Loretta Lynch.

I have watched Mr. Trump very closely for the past eight or ten months, and my opinion of him has continually changed for the better, because of what I’ve seen. He has grown tremendously through the experience of campaigning.

There would be no point for an individual of his extraordsinarily high degree of wealth and solid accomplishment to put himself and his family through the ordeal of campaigning and putting up with the torrents of abuse he’s taken from the Enemedia and the Clinton Campaign (co-equal partners in the effort to get HRC elected at all costs) if he were not sincere in thinking he might be able to help our country, which is certainly in desperate shape after the depredations visited upon us by EVERY administration since Ronald Reagan left office.

You and I can’t see eye to eye on politics, because we each have an entirely different view of what course the country needs to follow. You may never be able to admit it, even to yourself, but your political orientation is almost wholly derived from the teachings of Karl Marx.

I on the other had believe fervently in the profoundly libertarian vision the Founders set forth in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

That means I put LIBERTY above Justice, LIBERTY above Safety, LIBERTY above Fairness, and LIBERTY above Convenience.

t also means that I am dead set against using EXPEDIENCY to solve economic and social problems.

In case you haven’t checked the definition of expediency lately it means "the quality of being convenient and practical despite possibly being improper, illegal, or immoral. In my personal definition it means abandoning basic principles in order to achieve a temporary degree of relative comfort, ease and safety.

As for saying nasty things during campaigns it has always been part of the Aerican political process from its earliest days. Just look at what Jefferson and Adams had to say about each other in the press of their day. And THEY were best friends during the Founding of our country.
