THE LAND of COTTON
(dedicated to the memory of OKJimm)

Oh, I wish I lived where young Tom Cotton
Ran the show, and D’Rats rotten
Stayed away! Stayed away!
From destroying our Land.

In the lovely land where I was born in
Early on a bright spring mornin’
We held sway! We held sway!
O’er the fate of our land

Oh I wish that young Tom Cotton
Held sway! Held sway!
Then I’d go to bed and rest my head
And not feel misbegotten.

No way! No way!
Should that damned fool Obama
Run anything bigger than a shoe shine stand
Reject, Barack Obama!

~  FreeThinke

(To be sung to the tune of Dixie, in case you hadn’t figured that out for yourself.)

Is the best that you can do to call those with whom you disagree "morons"? Surely, surely, you're more intelligent than that!

"Senator" Cotton' as well as the other 46 signatories of the Dear Tehran letter broke over 200 years of diplomatic protocol and tradition, undermined the Constitutional authority of the President, put the credibility of the USA government in question, and essentially acted a band of renegade insurgents.

Cotton and his accomplices no longer deserve the trust and respect of the American people. They were not thinking, but we all know what their real motivation was.

    4. Dictocrats when devoid of creative ideas, sensible sentiments or cogent arguments invariably resort to filling the air with insults, libel, slander, unfounded accusations and crude invective. That's simply SOP with them.

Unfortunately "we" have been doing too much of that, ourselves, lately -- a deadly disease I would insist "we" have caught from "them." In my own small way I am trying to combat these witless exchanges of boring boilerplate and tedious invective by having some fun with occasional bits of whimsy and satirical verse -- a time-honored tradition by the way.

    5. TPS, we know nothing of the kind, and neither do you. We have a renegade president, –– either an absolute fool or a fiend, I can never be sure which –– drunk with power –– who has chosen to ignore the constitutional strictures that limit what he is permitted to do on his own.

Now you may surmise all you like in an attempt to vilify the motives of a brave young American like Tom Cotton and those good, stalwart souls who followed his initiative. You may also make feeble tu quoque arguments in an attempt to justify our president's outrageous, I think possibly treasonous, conduct all you like, but the fact remains that Mr. Obama has flouted the law, virtually thumbed his nose at congress, and played the role a spoiled, overly pampered child in consistently acting against the will of the people as expressed in the last two congressional elections. Lest we forget, those elections produced a sizable Republican Majority in congress –– presumably in the hope of UNDOING a least some of the tremendous HARM the bullying, dictatorial Democratic majority led by Pelosi and Reid in conjunction with this miserable excuse for a president managed to FOIST on the American Public clearly against their will.

We are SUPPOSED to be governed by THREE CO-EQUAL BRANCHES of government. The president does NOT have the power to make foreign policy alone. He MUST consult congress and proceed with he "Advice and Consent" of the SENATE.

If you don't accept that, you are NOT an American. Instead, you are a more like a VIPER we have nursed in our national bosom. Sadly your name these days appears to be LEGION.

One thing's for sure it will never be performed on Saturday Night Live or any of those Late Night Talk Shows. I doubt if even Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity would touch it, because both of them have such terrible musical taste. It's just not crass enough for them.

But who knows what will and won't catch on -- or why? Authors and producers of plays and musical shows have been trying to figure that out for a very long time, and even he best of them have never figured out how to score a bullseye every single time.

D'Rats forever wave high the banner of DUPLICITY, and noisily champion flagrant use of The Double Standard in virtually ALL their transactions.

UNFORTUNATELY, the Republican Establishment clearly does not want to ACCEPT the clear and compelling MANDATE given by the electorate, and act accordingly.

Thank GOD for brave young upstarts like Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, possibly Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal –– and now the young veteran Tom Cotton –– who have taken it upon themselves to BUCK the accursed GOP Establishment, and a least TRY to move the Ludicrous Liberal LOG JAMB that now characterizes and paralyzes our pathetic congress –– several hundred men and women who cannot seem to summon the will to OPPOSE in any effective, meaningful way this rotten excuse for a national leader, who seems bent on DESTROYING the country he was elected to lead.

      Lead WHERE, I ask you?

"DOWNSTREAM and over the FALLS" appears to be the correct answer.

MODERATE Republicans are worse by far than LIBERAL Democrats.

  6. To those who try to play games of YOU DID IT TOO in attempting to excuse our illustrious president's outrageous abuse of power I would remind all of the machinations of Texas Democrat JIM WRIGHT, a longtime congress creature and Speaker of the House from 1987-1989, who was forced to resign and return home with his tail between his legs after an ethics investigation found him guilty on several counts of official misconduct.

WIKI tried to bury this in a lengthy quasi-encomium to the miscreant, but here it is for your perusal. Please notice WIKI's flagrant attempt to characterize the congressional action against Wright as mere "political persecution" by then-Republican Speaker Newt Gingrich clearly implying that Gingrich was at fault in so doing:

”In 1988 Wright became the target of an inquiry by the House Ethics Committee. Their report in early 1989 implied that he had used bulk purchases of his book, Reflections of a Public Man, to earn speaking fees in excess of the allowed maximum, and that his wife, Betty, was given a job and perks to avoid the limit on gifts. ... Wright tendered his resignation as Speaker on May 31, 1989, the resignation to become effective on the selection of a successor. [Wright] was the first Speaker to resign because of a scandal. On June 6, the Democratic Caucus brought Wright's speakership to an end by selecting his replacement, Tom Foley of Washington...

" ... The incident, itself, was controversial ... a part of the increasing partisan infighting that has plagued the Congress ever since. The original charges were filed by Newt Gingrich in 1988 and their effect propelled Gingrich's own career ... to the Speaker's chair ...

"Michael Parenti, critic of the national security state, attributed Wright's forced resignation to the critical questions he was raising in the late 1980s with regard to CIA covert actions in Nicaragua.

Wright had not only criticized Reagan's policy, but taken the extremely unusual step of entering into negotiations with the Nicaraguan government as speaker [by HIMSELF, it should be noted].

I am FINISHED allowing these lousy stinking leftist creeps try to browbeat, bully, intimidate or otherwise stop me from being as impertinent and "offensive" as I choose. I wish you would take the pledge and join me.

I isn't that I wish to hurt anyone, –– a mistaken, self-serving assumption on the part of the leftists and some craven compatriots –– but I am personally offended at the presumption of a "RIGHT to RULE" assumed by anyone who CLAIMS to be offended, when what he's REALLY doing is trying to put a gag order on ME and braces on my brain while exercising a non-existent "right" to maim, cripple and effectively bowdlerize our precious language -- the greatest treasure we've inherited from the past.

I must add that the same rebellious, uncooperative streak would arise in me if we were suddenly forced once again to live under the Puritanical standards of the former Massachusetts Bay Colony, or the absurdly pretentious hypocritical restraints of the Victorian Era.

  12. Of Senator Cotton some disapprove, his disregard for protocol absurd.

His lack of respect for the Office of the
    Presidency most disconcerting.

Does he (and his compatriots) not realize they open all future presidents to the same?

Some fear a loss of credibility for the USA among other nations. Can we be trusted?

Don't know if this comment is viewed as a "evil smelling turd" or not. Nor does it concern me. But there are many conservatives who view the 47 this way.

Is it possible anymore to have an open honest discussion, absent platitudes or hyperbole, over serious issues? It really appears not.

    1. All you have given us are the standard Progressive-Statist Talking Points on this issue, Les. (Yes, I know it's you, you cannot hide from my All-Knowing Mind and All Seeing Eye :-)

As far as so-called "Conservatives" rejecting Tom Cotton's approach is concerned, allow me to say these are the lily-livered RINO's like John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Orrin Hatch, the Bush Family, the Northeastern Faux-Republicans, limp-wristed fake conservative commentators like Bill Kristol and other Establishment types who zealously keep the GOP impotent, ineffectual and virtually moribund, because they offer no meaningful opposition at all to the vile Democratic initiatives threatening to sink the good ship America and send her to the bottom once and for all.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, so NO, I am NOT willing to give those I regard as inimical to the best interests of our country an even break or cut them any slack at all.

RON PAUL was the ONLY candidate who told the truth and stood up for sound fiscal policy, a more enlightened foreign policy, and a saner more workable approach o domestic social problems during the last series of presidential debates. Of COURSE, he had no more chance of prevailing in that stilted pageantry than proverbial snowball in hell has of survival, but AT LEAST he managed to find a way to stand up before the American Public and tell them the TRUTH -- something usually prohibited, chastised, mocked, scorned or severely punished in the dominant media culture that all0but completely controls American Politics. With the possible exception of Rudolf Guiliani, Ron Paul was the ONLY potential candidate with Vision and the courage of his Convictions.

This country was FOUNDED on the colossal, notably "unseemly" effrontery of brilliant, passionate men of vision and great courage who were willing to risk EVERYTHING for a set of abstract IDEALS and PRINCIPLES in which they fervently believed.

There was no room among the Founding Fathers for mealy-mouthed moderation and pusillanimous conformity to a status quo regarded as abhorrent by the authors of our REBELLION against the tyranny of King George III.

Open REBELLION against powerful figures regarded as vile is as American as Motherhood and Apple Pie USED to be before lunching on Quiche Lorraine or chowing down on Tapas or Dim Sum, and drinking mocha latté at Starbucks became the new standard for a typical businessman's lunch. PHEW!

Yes, and now we have degenerates that have taken the founders enlightened liberal brilliance and packaged it as conservative ideals while finding new ways to bastardize the ideals they claim to cherish.

  13. Earlier this week, there was an outrage from the Left about 47 Republican Senators sending an open letter informing the leaders of Iran that any nuclear deal with the United States that failed to be approved by the Senate would likely expire in 2017, once President Barack Obama’s term ended.
The letter enraged the Democrats, the Liberals, and the Progressives, who immediately began accusing the Republican Senators of treason for having the audacity to publish basic constitutional facts about how treaties work. However, these Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives seem to be a bit forgetful of the “treasonous” things that their own party was guilty of.
And if you folks are forgetful of the facts I’m reffering to, let me remind you.

So if the Congressmen that sent that to Iran that you found to be SO treasonous what do you call this?
Senator Obama who was “The Democratic Candidate of president in 2008 Sent U.S. Secret Emissary To Iran Telling Them NOT TO NEGOTIATE WITH GEORGE BUSH – But To Wait For Him To Be Elected….

The Swimmer also known as Ted Kennedy Secretly Asked The Soviets To Intervene In The 1984 Elections. Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.” So, Did Ted Kennedy seek the Soviets help in effort to defeat Ronald Reagan? You can bet your bippy he did. Kind of like left wing Watergate, huh?
So whenever the name Ted Kennedy comes up... all I can think of is " GOD BLESS YOU MARY JO KOPECHNE... you kept Ted Kennedy out of the White House".

So please tell us again about these Senator’s who are Fools and idiots, Disgraceful and Irresponsible!
