All Hallows Eve

Trick or treating, barren branches claw
On rooftops ‘gainst the biting Autumn air.
Jack O’Lantern flickers. Would he gnaw
An arm away, or set aflame the hair ––
Conspicuously real above the masks ––
Kindling Kindergartners at the door?
Only Satan’s own perform such tasks,
Leering, lisping, limping as to war.
Awake! All Hallows Eve lets loose the ghosts.
No one escapes the Grave for long. Be wise.
The Jack O’Lanterns flicker on the posts ––
Each one a sentry for the Lord of Flies.
Run home to mother lest the Evil One
Nabs you, while you think you’re having fun.

Verdict on Last Night’s Debate

REPUBLICANS - 100%
MODERATORS - 0%
There was not one Republican candidate on the stage last night who would not make a better president than anything the Democrats have dredged up from the cesspits in the last hundred years.

EDITORIAL ADDENDUM

The sneering, condescending, contemptuous attitude of conceited leftists and the sheer, unmitigated nastiness of leftists in general was amply demonstrated by the panel of so-called moderators who attempted to stage an Inquisition at last Wednesday night’s debate. The unprincipled tactics and badgering, presumptuous tone of these leftist operatives do more to make the case for Conservative-Libertarians than any straightforward, carefully considered presentation of pro-Conservative-Libertarian ideas and values possibly could.

A prime example of this arrogant, frankly vicious attitude occurring throughout the last Wednesday's debate on CNBC dominated the proceedings.

Carl Quintanilla, Becky Quick, and John Harwood who led the pack were obviously set up not to moderate the proceedings, but to act as Inquistors in a virtual Kangaroo Court, instead. Their flagrantly biased performance as leftist-activists posing as “journalists” was as disgraceful and inappropriate as it was obnoxious.

BECKY QUICK:

[NOTE: http://www.thejewishweek.com/features/matchmaker/how-mark-met-becky The astonishing American correspondent recently working as a co-anchor for CNBC’s show Squawk Box Becky Quick was born on July 18, 1972 was named Rebecca Quick by birth. She belongs to American nationality and Jewish ethnicity. She was born and raised by her proud parents in Indiana, Texas. Her father was a geologist ...  She ... has three younger brothers. The family ultimately settled in Medford, New Jersey. –– See more at: http://myhowbook.com/biography/becky-quick-bio.html#sthash.ECJ48tMc.dpuf-http://myhowbook.com/biography/becky-quick-bio.html ]

I KNEW la QUICK was Jewish right away. It was written all over her. I looked it up just to be sure, and of course I was correct. Now HOW could I POSSIBLY have KNOWN that? WHAT gave it away?

[To be fair to Ms. Quick, FOX NEWS’s own Megyn Kelly , an outspoken Catholic girl of Irish-Italian ancestry has been every bit as obnoxiously aggressive in her, apparently,  self-generated feud with Donald Trump as Ms Quick was last Wednesday night. Maybe it's a just Woman thing?]

CARL QUINTANILLA

Though born in Michigan, Qjintanilla is obviously of Hispanic origin. There’s nothing like an “educated” member of a troubled, supposedly downtrodden  minority to make a first-rate LEFTIST ATTACK DOG journalist.

JOHN HARWOOD

His father was a prominent journalist in Louisville, Kentucky. Unfortunately journalists are by nature a dissident, muckraking, generally nettlesome lot. If that were not so, why would both Lincoln and Woodrow Wilson have had them (illegally) MUZZLED? Harwood has obviously been conditioned from birth to be a leftist.

JOHN HARWOOD on ERIC CANTOR’S DEFEAT:

Discussing House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s surprising primary loss, on Friday’s Washington Week on PBS, John Harwood, chief Washington correspondent for CNBC, a regular on NBC and MSNBC, and a political writer for the New York Times, blamed hostility to Jews in Cantor’s “very rural conservative southern district.”

“Eric Cantor is a Jewish Republican,” wrote Harwood. “This is a very rural conservative southern district where that is not a -- you don’t have a lot of Jewish members of Congress from the South.” ... Harwood first forwarded his theory on Wednesday morning’s Squawk Box on CNBC, where he cited Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report: “He said he thought the fact that Eric Cantor is Jewish played a role in this very conservative district.” - See more at: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brent-baker/2014/06/14/cnbcnyt-s-harwood-blames-anti-semitism-cantor-s-defeat#sthash.SOtOWWcF.dpuf

Don't you see how the left almost ritually issues charges of "anti-Semitism" whenever and wherever possible in order to smear and discredit anyone who opposes the LEFTIST agenda?

That the vast majority of Jews are in fact unabashed, loudly outspoken advocates of LEFTIST policies quite naturally makes Conservatives ripe for charges of "anti-Semitism."  These charges, THEMSELVES, are probably more responsible for generating suspicion and resentment of Jews in general than anything else. In this regard lamenting, loudmouthed, forever ACCUSATORY Jewish "intellectuals" are their tribes' worst enemies.

Afternoon Tea with Margaret Easton

When I was a little lad my mother took me to visit Margaret Easton, a friend of hers who happened to be a deaf-mute. Mother suffered from severe hearing loss, herself, and the two shared the same otolaryngologist, a renowned specialist whose office was located in a lovely old Brownstone a block away from Central Park in the Sixties on New York’s Upper East Side.

The two kept bumping into each other in the waiting room, and struck up an odd, but congenial friendship that lasted until Margaret died some twenty years later. Mother actually learned how to use fingerspelling well enough to share her thoughts, while her friend wrote notes on a small pad of paper. Often they'd amuse themselves simply by pointing to items in one of the office magazines.

After a while we received a formal invitation in the mail to take tea at this woman’s beautiful waterfront home in Larchmont, Westchester County.

I had just learned to read, but was not really comfortable with Mrs. Easton. The woman, who’d married well and raised two children of her own, was very understanding, and did her best to put me at my ease.

Soon after tea was served by a uniformed maid in front of a large bay window overlooking the garden beyond which lay a view of Long Island Sound Mrs. Easton, handed me a little note on which she’d written P.I.S.S. S.H.I.T.

I was still too young to be shocked, but I was definitely perplexed, and handed the note to my mother to see if she could help decipher it. I’ll never forget the look on Mother’s face as she read it.

Well, after the mild furor died down it turned out that mother’s friend Margaret was far too well bred to have any idea why anyone would be upset with her attempt to communicate with me. All she was trying to say was “Put in some sugar, see how it tastes.”

Road Rage Detector to Hit Market

CNBC.com

Call it a car seat that helps reduce road rage.
Automotive parts manufacturer Faurecia is developing an Active Wellness seat to monitor emotions of drivers. The seat detects stress and fatigue via built in seat sensors, and then offers a customized treatment to the driver.
"If you're stressed out, your heart rate increases and your respiration increases," Faurecia's Vice President of Innovation, Rob Huber, told CNBC's Closing Bell. "If you press 'stress detected,' it'll give you a soothing massage and a warming sensation that will calm you down."

Likewise, the seat works if the driver is fatigued. If the sensor detects a lower heart rate, the Active Wellness seat will offer a lower back massage and a cooling sensation to the driver to wake them up.
"This car is about connectivity and understanding more about the individual person," Huber told CNBC.
According to the privately operated website dmv.org, emotional driving — like being stressed or having road rage — can be just as dangerous as talking on a cellphone while driving. While this new technology does not prevent outside distractions, Huber says it looks out for the overall wellbeing of the driver.
Former General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz is skeptical there is demand for this type of technology in the automotive industry. Lutz told CNBC, "Sadly, my take on this is that it's the answer to a question that nobody asked."
While no partnerships have been announced, Huber claims there is interest from many automotive companies. As for cost of the smart seat, Huber says this technology will be a common solution in a premium vehicle initially, and then could migrate into a larger volume segment. Huber anticipates this product to be on the road in 2018 or 2019.

HILLARY EMERGES
CLEAR WINNER
Rehabilitates Her Image
through the expert, polished application of
poised, good-humored
BRAZEN EFFRONTERY

She has perfected her act, was able to sweep aside all negative assertions as to her character and motivation, and was given much support by her closest, supposedly fiercest rival Bernie Sanders.

And we must admit
SHE LOOKED ATTRACTIVE.

O’MALLEY acted as a tall, dignified, well-spoken PROP in a pageant-like showcase designed to glorify Mrs. Clinton

Only Jim Webb, rudely treated by moderator, Anderson Cooper, as though Webb were a party crasher, and Lincoln Chaffee, a pleasant-but-fatuous-looking individual who appeared foolish by continually reminding us that he has never been associated with even a hint of scandal in his career seemed mildly at odds with the

... ADDENDUM ...
Race as Paul Ryan’s Nascent Campaign
Falls Apart on the Runway
Paul Ryan is discovering that House Representatives
with far better Conservative voting records

than he want the Speakership.

WARNING

Paul Ryan is Not a Real Conservative

by Jane Aitken
August 13, 2012

There is much abuzz over Mitt Romney's announcement naming Congressman Paul Ryan from Wisconsin as his vice presidential running mate.
But many see it as unimpressive, and even premature and just another indication of a desperate move to distract from the idea that the "presumptive nominee" has in truth, been fighting for his political life.
A nominee has yet to be chosen at the RNC Convention in Tampa later this month. And some say recent attempts by the Romney campaign to rule-break and manipulate the caucuses in order to steal delegates from other candidates is a glaring indication that Romney himself isn't all that confident.
One noted liberty activist even suggested that Romney had chosen an "imitation Ron Paul".
There are at least two, if not more, factions of tea partiers who will be swelling the ranks of the convention and at separate tea party rallies, and none of them want Romney as the nominee.
Add to that, a new group of social conservatives who have jumped on the 'Dump Romney' bandwagon urging delegates not to vote for Mitt Romney at the convention, even if they're bound to him. (RNC rules say NO delegates are bound) So it looks like Romney recognizes that he will be bracing for a fight.
Asked if the choice of Paul Ryan would make any difference to conservatives, constitutionalists, and tea party types as to whether it would help them come around to get in the Romney camp, most who are familiar with Ryan's record say "not a chance".
Here's why: An evaluation of Ryan's record by the Republican Liberty Caucus in 2008 stated actions that likely would not sit well with small government conservatives. It stated "It appears that when Paul Ryan’s party is doing the spending, raising debt limits, and acting unconstitutionally… Ryan goes with the flow. Congressman Ryan’s actual record leaves much to be desired. The issue Ryan is most known for is his interest in cutting the deficit and balancing the budget. But why did the Congressman vote to bail out the auto industry, to pass the Medicare package to the tune of $400 billion, and to nationalize education via No Child Left Behind?"
Paul Ryan on Bailouts and Government Stimuli
Voted YES on TARP (2008)
Voted YES on Economic Stimulus HR 5140 (2008)
Voted YES on $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler. (Dec 2008)
Voted YES on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending. (Jul 2009)

Paul Ryan on Entitlement Programs
Voted YES on limited prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients. (Nov 2003)
Voted YES on providing $70 million for Section 8 Housing vouchers. (Jun 2006)
Voted YES on extending unemployment benefits from 39 weeks to 59 weeks. (Oct 2008)
Voted YES on Head Start Act (2007)

Paul Ryan on Education
Rep. Ryan went along with the Bush Administration in supporting more federal involvement in education. This is contrary to the traditional Republican position, which included support for abolition of the Department of Education and decreasing federal involvement in education.
Voted YES on No Child Left Behind Act (2001)

Paul Ryan on Civil Liberties
Voted YES on federalizing rules for driver licenses to hinder terrorists. (Feb 2005)
Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent. (Dec 2005)
Voted YES on allowing electronic surveillance without a warrant. (Sep 2006)

Paul Ryan on War and Intervention Abroad
Voted YES on authorizing military force in Iraq. (Oct 2002)
Voted YES on emergency $78B for war in Iraq & Afghanistan. (Apr 2003)
Voted YES on declaring Iraq part of War on Terror with no exit date. (Jun 2006)
Voted NO on redeploying US troops out of Iraq starting in 90 days. (May 2007)

Congressman Ryan supports the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, federal bailouts, increased federal involvement in education, unconstitutional and undeclared wars, Medicare Part D (a multi-trillion dollar unfunded liability), stimulus spending, and foreign aid.
According to Michelle Malkin in 2009, “[Paul Ryan]"... "hyped as a conservative rock-star" .... "gave one of the most hysterical speeches in the rush to pass TARP last fall; voted for the auto bailout; and voted with the Barney Frank-Nancy Pelosi AIG bonus-bashing stampede." Milwaukee blogger Nick Schweitzer wrote: ‘He ought to be apologizing for his previous votes, not pretending he was being responsible the entire time, but I don’t see one bit of regret for what he did previously. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to let him get away with it’.”
In this attached YouTube video of Congressman Ron Paul speaking to Neil Cavuto, Paul stated he thought Paul Ryan's budget plan "doesn't cut anything of substance". Paul is the only other candidate whose name will appear on the ballot at the RNC Convention and who is seen by many as a breath of fresh air for daring to tell the truth about many issues. Cavuto admitted that Ryan's budget, compared to Paul's, was "mild".
So when it comes to Paul Ryan, I guess you could sum it up this way: "the more things change, the more they stay the same".

Hopeful Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton

Here’s a List of Hillary Clinton’s Accomplishments, So Please Quit Saying She Does’t Have Any

by Ryan Denson
April 13, 2015 1:52 AM

There are many, many, many people who seem to think Hillary Clinton hasn’t accomplished anything. Apparently, being a First Lady, a Senator, as well as Secretary of State doesn’t count as accomplishments to her critics. But here is a very simple summary that encompasses Hillary Clinton and what she has accomplished throughout her life — Courtesy of a friend:
“First ever student commencement speaker at Wellesley College. Distinguished graduate of Yale Law School. Former Director of the Arkansas Legal Aid Clinic. Former civil litigation attorney. Former Law Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Former First Lady of Arkansas. Former First Lady of the United States, and the first FLOTUS in US History to hold a postgraduate degree. First ex-FLOTUS in US History to be elected to the United States Senate. Elected by the… State of New York to serve two terms in the United States Senate. Former US Secretary of State. GRAMMY Award Winner. Author. Self proclaimed Pantsuit Aficionado. Married to a man named Bill, who plays the saxophone.”

H. Rodham Clinton, champion of women and children ain't in no way tired.
You don’t have to like Hillary Clinton or her ideas. I get it. She’s a Democrat, a progressive (in most eyes), and conservatives don’t like that. However, you cannot say she does not have any accomplishments. Here are just a few:
Even though her major initiative, the Clinton healthcare plan, failed (due to Republican obstruction), you cannot deny that it laid ground for what we have today, the Affordable Healthcare Act, something Clinton supports and would continue.

She played a leading role in the development of State Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provides the much-needed state support for children whose parents cannot afford nor provide them with adequate healthcare coverage.

She was also instrumental in the creation of the Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Foster Care Independence Act.

Successfully fought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and asthma at the National Institute of Health (NIH).

She spearheaded investigations into mental illness plaguing veterans of the Gulf War; we now have a term for it – Gulf War Syndrome.

At the Department of Justice, she helped create the office on Violence Against Women.

She was instrumental in securing over $21 billion in funding for the World Trade Center redevelopment.

Took a leading role in the investigation of health consequences of first responders and drafted the first bill to compensate and offer the health services our first responders deserve (Clinton’s successor in the Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand, passed the bill).

Was instrumental in working out a bi-partisan compromise to address civil liberty abuses for the renewal of the U.S. Patriot Act.

Proposed a revival of the New Deal-era Home Owners’ Loan Corporation to help homeowners refinance their mortgages in the wake of the 2008 financial disaster.

Was a major proponent of sensible diplomacy which brought about a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and brokered human rights with Burma.

Oversaw free trade agreements with our allies such as Panama, Colombia, and South Korea.

The Clinton Foundation, founded by her and her husband, has improved the living conditions for nearly 400 million people in over 180 countries through its Initiative program.

These are not all of her accomplishments. Her activism on behalf of women a children across the world is renowned. Her activism for raising the minimum wage and combating climate change is stellar. You do not have to support what she does or stands for. But do not say she doesn’t have any accomplishments. The conservatives who say this are the ones who are pushing for Ted Cruz – who brought on a $24 billion shut down. That, to them, is an accomplishment.
Yes, Hillary Clinton has accomplishments. You don’t have to like them, but they do, in fact, exist.
