His bright and witty presence in the blogosphere has been sorely missed. We hope he is well and merely resting from his labors, but would love to know for sure. Any information you might have regarding his fate would be most gratefully received.
I hope that somebody has some information about the Bard of Murdock. I miss his presence on the web!

ReplyDeletere: Justice O’Connor laments 'alarming degree of public ignorance'
“Alarming public ignorance.”
I’m shocked, I’m hurt, appalled.
How could a former justice speak
Such words, for us uncalled?
How dare she call us ignorant,
When we by habit send
The best and brightest to DC,
Our country’s ills to mend!
If we but give them extra time,
They cannot help but find
A way to cure our present ills,
And give us piece of mind.
The best and brightest, after all,
Have promised that and more,
They promised to reduce the debt,
And keep us out of war.
And though our debit is on the rise
And war around the bend,
Our confidence is absolute;
On them we can depend.
Oh Madam Justice calm your tongue!
We have things well in hand!
Prosperity and peace are nigh
For all throughout the land!

___ On Sandra Day O'Connor ___
She wasn't much help anyway,
As I seem to recall.
All she did was swing and sway,
While others took the fall.
By being noncommittal she
Did set herself apart,
But all she did was whittle wee
What we had from the start.
As neither fish nor fowl she
Gave Decency no help.
As voters crying "Foul!" we
Can't do a thing but yelp.

And that, dear readers, is the very last contact anyone has had with The Bard of Murdock as far as I know. His blog virtually died on September 10 without a word of farewell or explanation. Apparently, a shy individual, the Bard provided no email address or any other means to contact him personally. He just went “POOF!” Disquieting to say the least.
Sorry, I've no information to offer. :(
ReplyDeleteSad that no in seems to have taken much-if-any notice of this talented man!
ReplyDeleteDespite a significant facility for writing satiric verse, he always seemed to be a highly private individual with a shy and retiring nature.
The last thing he would do, however, is indulge in self-promotion -- shameless or otherwise --, and he rarely-if-ever chose to comment on anyone else's blog.
Still, I enjoyed his work after AOW first pointed me in his direction. You may have noticed I tried to share his talents HERE a few times coupled with verse of my own -- always with his permission, of course, -- but it never seemed to catch on, and he never came here to thank me for the effort, so ...
All we can do is try. I just hope he is still among the living? Something dreadful must have happened. It's downright EERIE when someone just drops out of sight like that without a single word of explanation.
His blog is still there , if you want to consult the archives. I've pasted the link in the WANTED poster.
Funny isn't it, FT, how people who have noticeable talent most often are either mocked or ignored?
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, I've dropped by the bard's blog, and found it entertaining and much to the point. I'm not much good at praying, but I hope he is all right, and stopped just because he got tired of being ignored.
I'm sorry now I never commented. As you must know, I'm better at telling people off than checking people under the chin. A bit late to change now.
Keep on championing the good stuff, FT. I appreciate it. I'm sure others do to.

FT,
ReplyDeleteI second Katharine's compliments as to the content of your blog.
