Yesterday’s Red Herring
Still Stinks Out Loud

What was the gist of that post?

We received some intelligent responses, but all of them missed
the point we were trying to make.

Poor reading comprehension on the part of readers?

 –– OR––

Poor communication skills on the part of the editor?

Let’s try it again.

WHAT WAS I DRIVING AT?
What Was the Red Herring?

A. To stir up hatred against Islam?

B. To promote homosexuality?

C. To denigrate Marxism?

D. To condemn all religion?

E. To indicate how relatively trivial matters dominate the discourse and distract us from issues of genuine concern?

F. To trap readers into exposing their fundamentally destructive, pointedly negative orientation?

G. All of the above? If so why?

H. None of the above? If so why?

Please discuss ...

  1. E. Is discussion needed, possible, important, relevant, too time consuming.

    Time for bed.

  2. The post was rendered devoid of comments, because the topic was not adequately addressed.

Better to have NO COMMENTS whatsoever than irrelevant stray remarks.

Yes, Les, "E" is the closest to a "correct" answer among those listed. Ducky got it too. Unfortunately, his remark got scrubbed with myriad others that served only as an embarrassment to their authors.

Comments that fail to address the topic of the day will be automatically removed from now on -- even when made politely by friends of longstanding.

IT HAS PROVED UNWISE TO ALLOW COMMENTS DIRECTED AT OTHER POSTERS AT ALL.

Unsolicited criticism of the blog administrators or those who post here, and of the way the affairs of this blog are conducted will be scrubbed.

Late to the party as usual.

The really important issues of the day are being swept under the rug while we are so busy arguing over unimportant, or not very important things.

    Important issues, to me are:

    IMPEACHING OBUMMER

    Loss of freedoms

    Creeping Islamist radicalism

    Illegal immigration

  4. Yes, AA, that's right, although I believe Obama, himself, is a "red herring" -- meaning he is just a puppet. It is the people BEHIND Obama -- the shadowy power players behind the scenes who put him in office using the media they own and operate -- who are responsible for the bulk of what's wrong in government.

They are much harder to get at, since their identity is largely unknown and their activities unaccountable.

But yes, issues like "gay marriage," abortion," "right to die," and even the immigration situation you mention are largely DISTRACTIONS from the economic malfeasance and the deliberate sacrifice of sovereignty that's pulling the rug out from underneath our feet as it dissolves the purchasing power of our net worth.

Compared to that the "Gay Marriage" issue is downright farcical, yet it sells a helluvalotta soap, if you know what i mean?
