The Vanity of Liberalism

Actor Rob Lowe explained on Twitter why the revival of "Roseanne" worked.
"The secret to @therealroseanne massive ratings is that it celebrates people with huge political differences who are able to laugh and love together as they passionately disagree," Lowe tweeted.
The reaction from the left was stuffier than the attic in August.
"What our country is experiencing is an attack on our very democracy, not a difference of opinions. Trump is a genuine threat to the USA and the world. Normalizing him is dangerous. Not a laughing matter."
"I'm not able to laugh and love with anyone trying to destroy America, thanks."
"As a straight CIS rich person it’s easy for you to say this. You’ve never been the LGBT member of your family who has Trump supporters who say they love you but don’t because they support bigotry. Difference of opinion can happen but Roseanne isn’t the voice of reason."
And so forth, and so on. Twitchy did a thing on it.
Once again we see liberalism as a religion. The liberals' high opinion of themselves is amusing. I forget who said it first, but when you lose a sense your other senses become more intense; thus when you lose your sense of humor, your sense of self-importance grows.

Their elevated sense of morality shows that they have been indoctrinated, just as North Koreans have. The difference is the Norks don't eat as much but on the other hand, the Norks have not paid $100,000 in student loans for their indoctrination.
As for the "Roseanne" show, executive producer Bruce Helford told Politico, "We write it from the point of view that working-class people are the nobility of this country, and not that they’re rednecks or hillbillies."

Museum slammed after hiring white curator for African art exhibit
Kristen Windmuller-Luna Brooklyn Museum
The Brooklyn Museum has sparked outrage in the black community after tapping a white woman to curate its vast African art collection.
On Monday the museum appointed Kristen Windmuller-Luna, 31, who has a Ph.D. in African art history from Princeton University, lectures in Columbia University’s department of art history and archaeology, and once worked as an educator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was “responsible for adult and college gallery tours in the African galleries.”
Despite the stellar résumé, her hiring left some wondering why a qualified person of color did not get the post.
“Seriously, @brooklynmuseum? There goes the neighborhood for good,” opined Philadelphia journalist Ernest Owens on Twitter.
“People from the African Diaspora are frustrated w/white people being gatekeepers of our narrative,” tweeted Kimberly Seldon.
The museum defended its decision.
“Kristen is the perfect choice to build upon the Brooklyn Museum’s track record as an innovator in the collection and exhibition of the arts of Africa,” said Jennifer Chi, the museum’s chief curator, in a statement.
The museum said it was “committed to equity” but would not discuss the hiring process with The Post.
Following days of criticism on social media, the museum tweeted Thursday:
“We have been listening closely to the debate about our recent appointments to our curatorial team. We’re listening and we hear you. As we think about ways to engage in this conversation with the care it deserves, we want to assure you that you can count on us, as ever, to continue working deeply on equity within our institution and beyond.”
African-Americans make up just 4 percent of all “curators, conservators, educators, and leadership,” according to a Mellon Foundation demographic study in 2015. The same report said that people of color occupied 42 percent of “intellectual leadership” positions at the Brooklyn Museum.
What logically follows from this is that white people must be banned from getting university degrees in anything African. Only black people can get such degrees, only Hispanics can get Hispanic Studies degrees, only women and get Womens Studies degrees.
DeleteWhat you are saying is that BLACKS are bringing about a renascence of Jim Crow, Segregation and Apartheid.

ALL we managed to do was TREAD WATER, until Mr. Trump took office. THEN that market took off like a rocket.

ReplyDelete2,000 Years Too Late Facebook Bars Crucifixion As ‘Excessively Violent’
by ANDREW MALCOLM
Posted at 1:01 pm on April 3, 2018
Mark Zuckerberg is having an annus horribilus.
Now, as if Facebook didn’t have enough troubles, a Roman Catholic university in Ohio is charging that the social media behemoth rejected its Easter ad last weekend because the crucifixion it depicted was “shocking, sensational and excessively violent.”
Do ya think?
Isn’t the brutal violence of being nailed to a cross naked until dead part of what Christians have been observing lo these almost two millenia? Without the awful death for the sins of man, there is no resurrection. Perhaps someone in Silicon Valley knows that.
Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio (“We teach those who teach the faith”) sought to post a series of ads for its online theology programs last week. One of them included an image of the Crucifixion of Christ on the San Damiano Cross.
Soon, the ad was barred and the university received the following administrative notice:
“Your image, video thumbnail or video can’t contain shocking, sensational, or excessively violent content.”
Do you think anyone at Facebook has ever entered a Christian church at some point in the past 1,970 or so years and noticed the images of Christ’s Crucifixion witnessed by hundreds of millions of worshipers over all these years?
In a subsequent Tweet, Franciscan University announced:
An ad we placed was rejected by Facebook today for content that is “shocking, sensational, and excessively violent.” We must agree with them.
The tweet linked to a blog post containing numerous Biblical verses describing the barbarity of the Crucifixion:
The San Damiano Cross. Jesus in glory, reigning from his cruciform throne. This is what the monitors at Facebook consider excessively violent, sensational, and shocking.
And indeed, the Crucifixion of Christ was all of those things. It was the most sensational action in history: man executed his God.
The university’s post on Twitter attracted numerous statements of support and descriptions of other incidents of alleged Facebook censorship of Christian images, including a woman’s hands holding a rosary. Talk about offensive!
Maybe when Zuckerberg testifies before Congress this spring someone wants to ask him how all the Russian stuff got through so easily but a single Christian image couldn’t make it past Facebook’s screens.
