Is THIS the REAL JAMES COMEY?

'Twould Seem So.
But, what are YOUR thoughts
on the subject?

~ § ~

FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY IS UNFIT FOR PUBLIC SERVICE

NEWSWEEK - 11/7/16

James Comey should not simply be fired as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He must be barred forever from any form of public service.

In the last 10 days, Comey has whipsawed the election for president of the United States. Now we know he did it for no reason. When his agents found information that suggested there were emails on a laptop that might have relevance to the investigation of Hillary Clinton and her email servers, Comey did not wait until he knew even a scintilla of information before announcing it to the world. Reasonably, lots of voters assumed there must be a there there—who could imagine a person with the power of the FBI director would turn the election on its head for no particular reason, on the basis of nothing?

Then, Sunday, Comey handed down another missive from on high: Never mind. His agents had looked through the emails and decided they were piffle. His majesty, the FBI director, has not yet deigned to officially inform his subjects—the American people—whether the emails related to the Clinton case or what they were. (However, people involved in the case tell Newsweek that almost all of them were duplicates of what the bureau already had or were personal.) He just said “nothing to see here” and waived us on our way.

Well, forget it, Jim. We’re not moving on. America has just witnessed one of the most—if not the most—egregious abuses of power in the service of one man’s ego in its history. Joseph McCarthy and A. Mitchell Palmer at least believed they were fighting a Communist threat. Richard Nixon, in Watergate, at least had the motive of retaining power and covering up wrongdoing. But Comey—who I do not believe did this for partisan reasons—has no such motive. This was about him, about preserving his now forever-destroyed reputation, about preening with his self-satisfied standing as a maverick who acts based on what he thinks is right, regardless of others’ opinion. But there is a very thin line between being independent and being reckless. And Comey has demonstrated he does not know the difference.

Before launching into a full Comey tear-down, a few facts must be understood. The FBI is an investigative arm of the Department of Justice. Nothing more, nothing less. An extremely small minority are lawyers, or even have basic legal training. They do not—thank God—decide who gets indicted and who doesn’t. Prosecutors run criminal cases and direct the agents. As many prosecutors have told me over the years, there is almost never an instance where agents who have been investigating a case for months do not recommend for prosecution. Tunnel vision is one reason; the fact that agents rise in the ranks by delivering cases that lead to prosecution is another. That is why prosecutors—and through them, grand juries—make the decision to charge or not. They both serve as a backstop to agents who don’t know the law and have no ability to objectively review their own evidence.

(This is why all this nonsense pushed by the Fox Newses of the world has been so deceptive: Screaming “the agents wanted to indict” is on par with “the fish wants to swim.” More important—if any agents really did say these things—they are unfit for the bureau; they must be found and fired immediately for this separate abuse of power.)

What that means is, if the FBI does not even conclude it has enough evidence to write a memo recommending prosecution to the Justice Department, there is simply nothing there. Assuming someone committed a crime when the FBI concludes the evidence obtained in the investigation is not worth turning over to prosecutors is like assuming it must be raining when the skies are clear.

The FBI is never supposed to comment on ongoing investigations and, except in exceptional circumstances, never disclose whether it has or has not recommended prosecution. Instead, on indictment, prosecutors stand up at a press conference, announce the charges, then thank the agents and offices of the FBI who conducted the investigation. If the bureau does not develop enough evidence to merit even a recommendation for prosecution, in those exceptional circumstances where it says anything, those are the words officials use: We have not developed evidence that merits a recommendation for prosecution.

In the last few months, unfortunately, Comey has demonstrated he understands none of this. …

  2. Purple-faced, perpetually enraged leftwing Democrats infest a rotten house of hate and intolerance, built upon a foundation of willful fantasies and outright lies.

When Comey produces no silver bullet with which to take down President Trump, the howls of indignation, tortuous screams and ear drum-rending shrieking from the hooting leftwing loonies will be unbearable.

Donald Trump is hell-bent for leather to drain the swamp and fulfill his campaign promises. The entire DC Demican-Republicrat-Infotainment News Media-Intelligence-Police State Complex is against him.

I give him a 50/50 shot of making it to reelection.

The left has been sapping our foundations for a hundred years, and the foundation started crumbling in the 60's.

Throw in dingbat CIA crimes around the globe, useless wars we serially-lost, failure to control who comes into the country, declining education standards, a DC Establishment ripping our rights and liberties from us in nibbles, bites and snarks while is spends us into penury...

We were ripe in 2001. Osama bin Laden won.

  3. Well, we now know it was Obama himself who ordered any information about the Russian cyber-sabotage investigations silenced, much to the dismay of Democrats and Clinton, and causing confusion in the agencies as they tried to evade questions that were long since looming. Had Comey revealed that there were investigations and for what and involving whom, Trump very well might not be President right now. Now we know Comey did have dirt on people in the Trump campaign, and apparently there may be more than that.

Don't shoot the messenger, especially the silenced one.

    Speaking of...

A deranged anti-Semite, who also just can't stand the thought of liberal bias in the media, tried to kill Eichenwald (the writer of this article from last year) recently with an animated email intentionally design to send him into an epileptic fit that could kill him, and almost did. Ironically, Eichenwald's dad is Jewish but he is not nor ever was.

I think we're getting too crazy over this sort of stuff these days.

Oh, and NOW we know the Russian's only liked Trump because they they think he's a pliable businessman, but we ALSO now know the Russians preferred Republicans in general, and aimed fake-news bot attacks at democrats in general, mostly in the primaries, to incite party turmoil. That part of the plan didn't work very well, but the heavy bot attacks on Clinton certainly played a role in riling up the more narrowly anti-Clinton vote. But it is very interesting that the Russians are suddenly infatuated with GOP. Lord knows, conservatives and Republicans have had a man-crush on Putin for years. He's a manly man, ya' know! LOL!

Interesting. I wonder how it was determined to be an anti-Semite that couldn't "stand the thought of liberal-bias in the media"? Was that your interpretation JMJ?

Personally, for someone to know about a personal medical condition, and to be so psychologically manipulative I'd first suspect something way more nefarious—like, say the CIA. For a guy who claims to be above or beneath or beside grubby politics
in America, FBI chief James Comey sure does manage to insert himself
into the seamiest corners of politics and seize the spotlight at the most
    fraught moments possible.

In this past election, Jim Comey was the “Where’s Waldo?” of
American politics. First he condemns Lady Dragon Hillary with
the most damning exoneration in the history of public prosecutions.
Then he slays her in public with just weeks to go before the election —

His being caught in grotesque grimace like the one posted here today is mos unusual I don't know whether he was just about to sneeze and got caught by the camera, or wheter this most unattractive expression is a sign that his "mask" slipped for a second or two thus betraying who he REALLY is.

Professional photographers snap literally hundreds of pictures in rapid succession at events they cover you know, so they're bound to catch a VIP in an unflattering pose sooner or later. I know I would hate to be photographed unawares.

The thing that concerns me about him is the extreme inconsistencies in the positions he takes. As others have said, "Comey is all over the map." He seems o switch sides perioducally wihout ever admitting that he's ever TAKEN sides.

The guy sees to take satisfaction in CONFOUNDING everyone within eyeshot.

I .mean HE (Gorsuch) is SO controlled it just HAS to be a deliberately cultivated ATTITUDE.

I doubt if ANYONE could be THAT much of a straight arrow and still be HUMAN.

I'm not sure he can betrusted to back up President Trump if push comes to shove. People who are THAT principled rarely make good allies in a knock-down-drag-out-fight.

    8. Sorry for butting in with AOW and you. You must be watching the confirmation hearings too. As we know, you don't get much from those but a little feeling for the candidates personality, sometimes their class distinction (he clearly defines himself as a likeable Blue Blood), contemporaneous thinking proficiency, etc. Of course, that last observation can tell you a lot.

I've had a little more time now to do some reading on Gorsuch, I realized he's very good at not standing out in the middle of big decisions. He very rarely wrote additional opinions, and his decisions were boilerplate Republican.

He says his "childhood hero" was Byron White, a hilarious way to say it, but he meant he's going to be more favorable to more aggressive policing and national security.

His rulings in class actions and and the Hobby Lobby case show a propensity for going out of his way to rule in favor of religious or corporate interests.

He reminds me of Roberts, but I think Roberts is a little more substantial a thinker. I get the feeling Gorsuch gets by with his good looks and sociability quite a bit.

PS: Did you hear the news that just came out about Nunes briefing Trump on those reports! LOL! omg... (sigh...)

I get the feeling Gorsuch gets by with his good looks and sociability quite a bit.

Could be. Anyone as fine looking as he is often does that kind of thing.

I'm not convinced that Chief Justice Roberts is a deep thinker. Then again, I don't have time to read the SCOTUS decisions.

As for Nunes, some are reporting that what he said today has vindicated Trump.

      Delete
    10. Oh, there are stories, alright (I wouldn't call it "reporting")...

Nunes ran to the White House with leaked documents of uncertain origin regarding foreign intercepts (SOP) with certain people around Trump. Russia is not involved, and neither is Trump personally. No crimes are indicated in any of this except the leaking American names which would have been later added by the relevant agencies (when?). What Nunes did was so sleazy and inept he pretty much guaranteed that his oversight committee is about to be pushed aside by the Senate, and the likelihood of a special prosecutor or select committee now just increased exponentially, and they'll be culling through everything.

Nunes is not competent enough for his job.

      JMJ

    11. JMJ,
That's one way of looking at the Nunes matter.

Another way: the POTUS should know if snooping and dangerous leaks were or are afoot -- particularly within agencies which are part of the executive branch. Also, what Nunes said at least implies that Comey was less than honest during his recent testimony on Capitol Hill.

How one reacts to the Nunes matter depends on one's political alignment.

And we all know that Obama knows his Lenin. And that is no lie!
Lenin, Stalin, Obama, Eric Holder Bill and Hillary Clinton. “What Difference Does It make”!
This president's past history is totally based on lies. Right from day one when he had sealed his papers so no one can learn the truth about his background,or see his Birth Certificate. At this point it doesn’t make any difference if the Certificate was true or Fake. The point is that this president went through a lot of trouble trying to hide it. And that’s NO lie. .
We all know that once someone lies, especially someone that we should be trusting above anyone else, they then find it much easier to lie again a second time and then a third time, and again and again until it becomes habitual; he or she tells lies without thinking about it. And soon without anyone in the world believing it.
Hillary Clinton called it "Miss Speaking"! Oops, I Misspoke About That Bosnia Experience ... when she spoke about her and her crew landing in Bosnia “under sniper fire." When it was CLEAR and proved by Video footage that there was NO visible threat from “sniper fire” at all. In fact the video showed her and her daughter Chelsea at a greeting ceremony on the tarmac. They were greeted by a little Bosnian girl reading them a poem. Hillary and Chelsea even paused to take pictures.
When this falsehood of the tongue was questioned by the press and Chelsea was asked about what happened, she said, "I support what my Mother said," and backed up Hillary’s LIE!
Which brings us back to President Obama’s now famous lying and repeating it several times to secure support for the Affordable Care Act –“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan”!
Obama said in a campaign speech that his father served in World War 2. Oh Yeah Right! The communist Kenyan was 9 years old when that war ended., so he must have been the YOUNGEST soldier who ever served. And how about “I Promises to Close Guantanamo Bay” Still waiting!

Obama has mounted monuments of lies. And the Mother of ALL Lies, and the most blatant lie was prior to the 2012 elections, when he claimed that the Sept. 11 attack that killed our Ambassador to Libya and three Seals acting as security personnel was a “spontaneous demonstration” based on a video regarding Mohammed.
Yes, they were Brutally Killed after they repeatedly ask for more help and security, and the rescue never came
As we know, that was a blatant lie, but in her testimony before a congressional committee then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously asked “What difference does it make?”

Obama’s lies go all the back to his Oath of Office in January of 2009, when he said,
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
The constant lies that sets the Obama administration above anyone else continued throughout his 2nd term in office, lets not forget Lois Lerner, on leave from the Internal Revenue Service and likely subject to a contempt of Congress citation after it has become obvious that she was a key player in the deliberate effort to deny tax exempt status to “Conservatives”, “The Tea Party”, Israeli Organizations, and other Conservative organizations that need it to raise funds.

Also let us remember that the Attorney General has already been slapped with a contempt of Congress citation after refusing to give up documents regarding the “Fast and Furious” program that put guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. all lead back to Our Dear Leader, the Liar in Chief Barack Obama.
But our dear friends, the Liberals always defend Obama by bringing up “Bush Lied”

Hillary lost Bernie Sanders supporters because the DNC had stacked the deck against Bernie, and once again stabbed ole Bernie in his back, so hard that he didn’t even swark . So were was FBI Director James Comey then, why didn’t they investigate the DNC or Interfering in a Presidential Election?? Or aren’t the Liberal’s concerned about that? Huh all you Lil Eisenstein's!

  14. What is the Liberal’s/ Progressive’s/ Democrat’s goal in attacking President Trump?
What do Democrats think they will accomplish?
Do they think there is some magical solution that would replace President Trump With Hillary?
They want to hold up Gorsuch confirmation. Do they really think that if President Trump is impeached that Hillary will replace him (GOD FORBID!?
Seems to me the democrats are proving they are the real obstructionists in DC. They care more about themselves then they do about us.
Every time President Trump speaks, the left-wing snowflakes fall to pieces and scream that he is "lying". And ever time he has been vindicated in the end.
And can someone, anyone explain this ? Where was the when the Black Panthers were intimidating the Voters at the polling sites ? Did the Russians mess with electronic ballots. where they having secret Russian meetings convincing obama supporters to vote for Hillary ? What specifically did they do to throw our election. They did less ( IF ANYTHING) then the Black Panthers did!
And If the public ( the Voters) had known that CNN colluded with the Democrats to give Hillary the debate questions before the debate it might have made an even bigger difference, and perhaps Hillary would have lost by a larger margin.

  15. Trump Was Right. Obama Did Monitor and Disseminate Surveillance of Trump Transition!
During the press conference House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes revealed that the identity of Trump transition officials had been "unmasked" which is directly contradictory to the law protecting the identity of Americans in "incidental" collection of intelligence. That is a violation of law.

In a response to this bombshell by Democrat Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, his concern wasn't for the clear violation of law highlighted by Chairman Nunes but a disappointment that this gets in the way of the Democrat's transparent attempt to create a scandal where none exists in regard to Trump's Russia ties.

Trump was right about Obama surveillance. How far it went and how many laws were broken remain to be seen. But one thing we know: Democrats will do whatever they can to obfuscate the issue and protect whoever broke the law in service to their partisan political plans! Shocking I tell ya!

"Russian collusion" Nice Try! It turns out that Trump was correct, again!

    1. To unmask, one would require an investigation. It looks like a lot of Trumps pals were regularly communicating with some pretty shifty characters abroad. It's a shame you don't care about that.
