Why do they allow these biased NBC moderators like Holt and Crowley to be in charge with ridiculous personal attacks on Trump that are hardly the most critical matters of the day, and of course not do the same towards Hillary? Plus his facts on the economy were so slanted and selective, plus his comment about cops shooting blacks was heavy propaganda. Why did he not ask about how scared black people are to go out in the streets or send their kids to school? Why is that not the issuE?

Trump could have brought up countless quotes from insiders how cruel and nasty Hillary was to her secret service men or body guards or hired help, but he did not.
Trump could have spoken of her wild eyed videos, her incapacity to even stand up on her own, her B.S. explanation for a 9 month coughing jag being pneumonia but he did not.
The media is totally in bed with the democrats and consequently this nation is way too focused on how Trump is being defensive than they are on what exactly was said last night about the most important national issues. They keep saying Trump does not deal in specifics ---- but Hillary does??? She is going to heal relations between blacks and cops and instill trust just by saying it? She is going to give free college education by saying it? She did not dare speak of the 20 trillion dollar debt as though that has no bearing.
Hillary is a democrat and liberal. Whether she is a criminal or a liar or witch does matter nearly as much as how badly liberal policies have ruined this nation and put us at risk to terrorists and the unimaginable trade deficit with China and other countries. Plus, morally and spiritually, this nation is in bed with the evil one. I do not care who wins, this nation will still end up the loser.
You're right about the ENEMEDIA, of course, but Mr.Trump should have known that his having to face such tactics was inevitable.

I agree with your moderate view of the proceedings. The ever-hateful Hillary DID appear better prepared, more polished, and definitely more aggressive than Mr. Trump, whose primary goal seemed to be to bely his image as a coarse, ill-mannered blowhard sedulously cultivated by the Left and the ENEMEDIA, who are, of course, one and the same.
DeleteI have always admired Mr. Holt's dignified, well-mannered style and his beautiful voice. I realize now, however, that the leftist bias in this event was one of OMISSION. Mr. Holt's questions were clearly calculated to do as much as possible to avoid embarrassing Her Heinous, and he did pretty much the opposite the opposite with Mr. Trump.
The approach of the moderator was almost embarrassingly lopsided. NEVERTHELESS, Mr. Trump SHOULD have been able to thwart the Leftist Agenda by inserting questions and factual assertions of his own that might have thrown the flint-hearted Hillary off balance. He had many good opportunities to do so, and he failed to take advantage of dos of them.
Mr. Trump's biggest flaw is his apparent compulsion to spend too much time DEFENDING himself against any and all charges no matter how trivial and obviously designed to discredit and embarrass him.
No matter what anyone says about the debate, including the expectations expressed by the media pundits and partisan organizations, it was pretty much Trump being Trump, interrupting, challenging, and dissembling; and Clinton being Clinton using progressive rhetoric, jabbing where appropriate, and using fact and figures to demonstrate her knowledge.

Hillary demonstrated physical stamina – but so did the great actor Yul Brenner in his last performance of the “King and I,” and immediately offstage was given oxygen and led away in a wheelchair. Hillary Clinton’s health issues still remain unexplored. Donald Trump continuously drank water during the debate whereas Hillary Clinton avoided any appearance of weakness.
The greatest stalemate was Trump being challenged about his tax returns, and responded by challenging Clinton to produced her deleted emails.
Funny, Trump attacked Hillary on her temperament while clearly demonstrating an aggressive demeanor.
Hillary Clinton ended the debate with a sexist attack on Trump and Trump did not fire back with anything about her husband being a sexual predator and protecting him by attacking women viciously.
Donald Trump was visibly unprepared for tonight's debate and it showed in terms of missed opportunities to attack Clinton as well as being unable to artfully sidestep issue landmines which Clinton threw in his path. Typical Trump -- believing he is "smart enough" to simply "wing it."
Some of the missed opportunities: Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, Pay-for-Play, Cybersecurity and securing her own email server, and Muslim immigration.
Nobody won the debate, but Americans lost – having to put up with these two seriously flawed candidates. Both spent more time talking about themselves and defending their actions rather than presenting a vision for America. Also, Trump was the ONLY one who walked through the "spin room" and spoke with reporters rather than simply putting surrogates out to tell your story.
Where Trump failed: Trump did not counter the birther charges by asking why President Obama's team spent millions in legal fees fending off any challenge that would have allowed a court-appointed grandmaster to examine the original documents and report back to the court. Including documents related to foreign travel and possible foreign scholarships. Likewise, he did not mention that Hillary Clinton had a history of personal and political scandals and apparently has been given a pass by law enforcement and the mainstream media.
Where Hillary failed: Clinton could have asked Trump if he would release his tax returns if the IRS granted him immunity.
The bias Moderator Lester Holt did not include some very pertinent questions that would have favored Donald Trump. Question that everyone was waiting for but never asked. But he did seem to ask Trump some zingers!

When Trump mentioned how he is a fan of “Stop and Frisk” policies, Holt jumped in and INCORRECTLY STATED that “Stop and Frisk” was ruled unconstitutional.

Rudy went on to compare Lester Holt to the infamous Candy Crowley. In case you don’t remember her, she was the slob who moderated the final Romney vs. Obama debate.

Mentioning Mr. Obama's unwillingness to release his academic transcripts, and the fact of her "thesis" at Wellesley STILL being kept under lock and key wouldn't haves hurt Mr. Trump either.

Last evening's debate, like this entire 2016 election, was a disgustng shambles.

DeleteI was not particularly pleased with the results, but I thought the hour and half of uninterrupted, lightly moderated sparring went by very rapidly.
Usually these events are extremely tedious, because of intrusive attempts by blatantly biased moderators to micro-manage the event, thus stifling any semblance of spontaneity between the participants.
Sure, Mr. Holt went easy in HRC, and tried to interrupt Mr. Trump's semi-coherent ramblings too frequently, but in comparison to past events of this kind, Lester Holt seemed to me a model of good decorum and an an absolute ANGEL.
Maybe it failed to be what most of us had hoped for, but it was in no way a shambles.
Trump lost the debate.

No matter what anyone says about the debate, including the expectations expressed by the media pundits and partisan organizations, it was pretty much Trump being Trump, interrupting, challenging, and dissembling; and Clinton being Clinton using progressive rhetoric, jabbing where appropriate, and using fact and figures to demonstrate her knowledge.

Mr. Trump's clumsy, unsophisticated use of the language works against him. Also, he is woefully lacking in the the type of wit necessary to engage effectively in repartee. HOWEVER, –– and I am not proud to have to report this ––, these very deficiencies may be the reason he has connected so well with the Common People who work hard for low pay at dead end jobs. Despite his vast wealth, Mr. Trump appears to be one of them.

Mrs. Clinton may be more experienced, better rehearsed, more articulate and sharper when going on the offensive, but she appears overly calculating, heavily-scripted, her voice remains harsh and grating, her demeanor unbearably smug and supercilious.
Despite the untold thousands undoubtedly spent on her clothes, hairstyle, makeup and years of cosmetic dentistry, she looks more like a cold-hearted bird of prey than anyone a sensitive person could bring himself to trust in a crisis.
And yes, I admit to being prejudiced against HRC.
I do wish Mr. Trump had made a stronger showing, but in these United States polished prose, academic excellence and quick wit rarely get the lion's share of adulation –– a fact of life I never ease to lament.
Even so, I still believe in Folk Wisdom and pray thats Sincerity as opposed to Sophistry may yet prevail. There's nothing to do, but wait and see.

ReplyDeleteI am a former 3rd grade teacher. And I would like to express ehat I witnessed on the night of the presidential "debate". What I saw was a candidate so completely unprepared that her presence in that forum was downright insulting, both to Mr. Trump and to the audience of millions. It was obvious from the start that Mrs. Clinton had made no effort to tell the truth, but to say whatever it took to win over some much needed votes. Teachers like myself can spot that sort of thing pretty easily. Lester Holt made the debate very easy for her in spite of her uninformed material. Mr. Trump was far more informed of the topics that the Moderator brought to the table. Also Mrs. Clinton may even have done a bit of cheating. I'd rather not have the leader of the United States lying her way in international summits or meetings with heads of state. Maybe it's just an educator's bias, but I much prefer the student who actually takes her classes seriously, prepares by completing her homework, and is able to participate intelligently in class discussion. Mrs. Clintons lack of ongormation, and snotty behavior during the program, and the utter disregard and disrespect for those who watched the "debate" last night was deplorable. Such behavior in my classrooms have warranted serious social skills instruction and behavior management implementation.
I'm no businessperson. I even cringed a bit selling Girl Scout cookies. But I thought about what I saw of you last night and imagined you in my world. I would not want you to be my child's teacher - sarcasm, lack of preparation, disrespect have no place in education. I would not want you to be my principal, for the very same reasons. You think you can just bluff your way through a faculty meeting? Hardly. You think you can just "wing it" as the year progresses and expect your school to achieve great scores in end-of-year standardized tests and produce exemplary students? Nope. I would not want to have you serve as president of our PTA. What kind of productive coalition could possibly come about as a result of your incredibly self-serving focus and bombastic behavior?
I look at Mrs Clinton like I have looked at my students. And my third grade students could teach you important lessons about things that seem foreign to you. Accountability. Responsibility. Apologizing when appropriate. Humility. Encouraging others to succeed. Building others up. Kindness. Cooperation. Admitting when you've made a mistake.
My students learned those things in my classroom, Mrs Inton Somehow, those important life skills passed you by. I want students of all ages to be able to look upon their presidents' behavior, manner of speech, and embrace of scholarship and see excellent role models.
No, Hillary is not a role model for my students. And if I were to give her a grade for last night's "debate", it would be an "F". You failed. All by yourself. You can pass the buck - you're pretty practiced at that - and blame whomever you wish to blame, such as the moderator, the microphone. But it is you, Hillary who failed yourself, who failed your campaign, and who failed to meet the high expectations of the forum known as The Presidential Debate.

He uses any dirty trick including discrimination and thinks that's just fine, because the fine (if he gets caught) would be cheaper than paying a fair wage. I can't think of a more un-American business attitude. He dosn't even pay the "little people" that work for him!

He claims Lester Holt was biased towards him and some see truth in that, because Mr. Holt never asked Clinton about Benghazi, or emails, or Libya, etc.. Maybe Trump will get his way when Chris Wallace is moderator.

A Trump presidency would be scary. It's scary enough to think he will get over 50 million votes.

I call those folks well-meaning morons. Leave them be. The brilliant and ever-congenial Newt Gingrich tried to warn stupid Sean Hannity about this the past two nights. Hannity, whose skull is impenetrably thick, did not appear to understand and accept Mr. Gingrich's superior wisdom.
Sadly, Hillary, who as NOTHING of her own to tout, is doing her best to drag Mr. Trump int the gutter –– the place where both Hill and Bill seem most at home.
Hillary is ALL MOUTH and little else. What important buildings has she constructed? What scientific advances has she made? How many jobs has she created? How much success has she enjoyed battling bureaucracies and getting projects of lasting significance fulfilled?
Mr. Trump will not help himself or the Conservative Cause by engaging in a pissing contest with La Clinton. His best bet is to try constantly to confront her on the ISSUES, and to emphasize the differences between BIG GOVERNMENT and SMALL GOVERNMENT. And to remind her over and over of her FAILURES as Secretary of State and her MEAGER ACHIEVEMENTS as a a senator from New York –– and of all the LIES she's told, and all the promises she's broken.
D'Rats love to make much of trivialities. Mr. Trump should not ALLOW them to get away with it.
