Which
is the Real
Pamela Geller?

YESERDAY, amidst a lively discussion at Always On Watch, BAYSIDER gave a most balanced, thoughtful and benign commentary on the thorny, controversy Pamela Geller’s tactics regarding the now-infamous Cartoon Competition in Garland Texas have aroused.

BAYSIDER: "SF, I like what you said about civil rights and an appeal to shared religious and cultural values. But I don't agree in this sense: The jihadis are telling Americans to take our civil rights to the back of the bus and shut up. Look at what that ridiculous [London-based] cleric said on Hannity the other day –– that Geller deserves the death penalty. Un uh! ... [L]aws from some backward, illiterate, piratical pedophile DON'T apply here! In that sense, it's appropriate to compare Geller to Parks who would not give up her seat ..."

FT: I hope our friend, Silver Fiddle, understands that CEDING (i.e. giving up, abandoning) OUR Laws, Values, Customs, and Mores to favor or accommodate what-amounts-to an AGGRESSIVE, HOSTILE, INVADING FORCE determined to DISPLACE "us" –– and everything we've loved, lived by, and stood for –– with THEIR warped, brutal, demented, utterly barbaric notions of what constitutes Right and Wrong should be regarded by ALL of "us" here in the the West as TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

There can be NO COMPROMISE with EVIL. PERIOD! No one can play games with the Devil and hope to win.

Pam Geller in my opinion is making an honest effort to DRAW OUT the viciousness and brutal savagery INHERENT in the followers of ISLAM. In so doing, Ms. Geller is helping to bring AWARENESS of the clear and present DANGER the very presence of ISLAM means to what-we-used-proudly-to-call The American Way of Life.

Islam is a dire THREAT to CHRISTIANS, a dire THREAT to JEWS, a dire THREAT to our Constitution and to the principles espousing Maximum Freedom for the Individual on which this nation was founded. Most of "us" are far too complacent, too trusting, –– too LAZY –– or frankly too STUCK on prissy notions of LEGALISTIC, LITERALISTIC interpretations of basic Principles, and too HUNG UP on arid, theoretical notions of ETHICAL PROPRIETY to summon the wherewithal to DEFEND and SECURE OUR INTERESTS decisively and effectively

Ms. Geller is more than a ROSA PARKS figure, I would say she is much more like a latter-day PAUL REVERE.

I know "everyone" likes to regard FreeThinke as an immoderate, unrealistic "crank," because of his repeated statements advocating DIDADIN, and his insistence that Jews eventually must take full responsibility for the inroads and hideous depredations Marxian, atheistic Jewish Intellectuals have wrought in these United States –– and throughout the West –– and stop the reflexive, ritualistic dismissal of their honest critics as "vicious anti-Semites."

FreeThinke is SEVENTY-FOUR years old. This does not mean he is more intelligent than others, but it DOES mean he has lived long enough to be able PENETRATE the dense FOG –– the MIASMA –– with which the Enemedia-Entertainment Complex ... has confused us. We the People have been deliberately enshrouded in poisonous mist for so long now that younger members of our tribe, even though they may sense the injustice, absurdity and counter-productive nature of the policies under which we've been forced to labor, cannot see the Big Picture as we, who've experoenced better times, most certainly can.

"Once fully enslaved, no nation, state, city of this earth, ever afterward resumes its liberty."

~ Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

"The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools."

~ John Tyndall (1820-1893)

It would never be my pleasure to be able to say, “I told you so.”

FT: Your ideas are beautiful, SilverFiddle, but they verge on the Utopian in my opinion. You presuppose the existence of a great deal more intelligence, restrain, discretion and sound judgment on the part of the general public than I believe they have. ALSO, you seem to believe that Muslims are REASONABLE, EQUITABLE, basically BENIGN, and would APPRECIATE being "met halfway," as it were. Sorry, but in my view it's usually a great mistake to judge Others by one's own standards.

ALSO, when it comes to "Respect for the Law" we should remember that our Revolution was UNLAWFUL –- a criminal treasonous act of rebellion. The Trail of Tears and Wounded Knee, etc. were CERTAINLY acts of what-should-have-been-regarded-as CRIMINAL AGGRESSION against innocent people we just wanted to get rid of. LINCOLN'S WAR was ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. And remember the way we handled The BONUS MARCHERS post-WWI. Shocking! Disgraceful! Inhumane! Unjust!

We never HAVE been a stable society run peaceably by The Rule of Law. When we look back at how many times the law has had to be changed to accommodate contemporary standards –– or the convenience of some Master Manipulators –– I, personally, can only conclude that The Law really IS an Ass. ;-) Needless to say I wish I could believe you were right. The world would be a better place if you were.

SF said: ”... [You may] stand up in a court of law for your religious freedom to ring that church bell. But you better be prepared to support the guy hollering from the tower as well.”

FT: I disagree absolutely. They can cut their wives and children up into little pieces and make a RAGOUT out of them in the PRIVACY of their OWN HOME, if that’s what their so-called “religion” dictates, but they should NEVER be given the privilege of DISTURBING the PEACE and OFFENDING the COMMUNITY STANDARDS held by the MAJORITY by asserting their “right” to make LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, utterly FOREIGN N-O-I-S-E on OUR public squares.

ISLAM is NOT a RELIGION, it is an INVASION.

    3. FROM WESERN HERO

SF asks: ”Ever heard of a famous Broadway play called The Book of Mormon?”

FT: No, but this is a good time to note that the Mormons were viciously attacked and violently persecuted here, which is the reason they moved out to barren, unsettled Utah to live essentially, by themselves.

Even then the persecution did not stop. Eventually the MAJORITY OPINION was backed up by the government, and quite literally forced the Mormons to ABANDON polygamy. And yet the MORMONS have NEVER been any threat to us anymore than HOMOSEXUALS are a threat to us, while ISLAM is a DEADLY DANGER to Life and Limb as well as LIBERTY and our Constitution, which THEY want to destroy and replace with SHARIA.

There is NO SUCH THING as “MODERATE ISLAM.” It’s DELUSIVE to think so.

SF said: ”People here are free to not only ignore your religion, but to mock it, thumb their noses at it, and say mean things about it and its adherents.”

FT: True –– unless you happen to be JEWISH. The anti-Antisemitism movement, which now has the full force of LAW behind it, is undoubtedly the origin of Political Correctness ––– surely a much greater threat to Liberty, Self-Determnation, and Freedom of Choice than Global Warming. ;-)

SF said: ”But I will support your request –– not your DEMAND –– for the cafeteria to serve halal food.”

FT: For Heaven’s sake why? I would support their being permitted to BRING their special food from HOME, but NOT to have something FOREIGN and UNDESIRABLE by American Standards bought, prepared and served at TAXPAYER’S expense.

    2. FreeThinke, you seem like a pretty educated guy, or at least obviously an autodidact. Try to remember something, sometimes small is beautiful.

When I write "Pam Geller is a douchebag," I really mean Pam Geller is a douchebag. That Pam Geller is a douchebag is all that really need be said about her. I can't think of anything else to say other than "Pam Geller is a douchebag." It surely seems that it need be said. I mean, if you saw a child reach into a bathroom garbage bag, pull out a douchebag and try to drink from it, you'd certainly stop that child. Well, when I see kiddies calling Pam Geller something other than a douchebag, I have to say something! I have a conscious, ya' know. So, I say, "Hey! Don't drink that! It's not Kool Aid! Pam Geller is a douchebag!"

Besides, Pam Geller is, in fact, a douchebag.

  3. As one who knows Pamela Geller, I can definitively state that she is more like the first graphic than the second.

She is indeed an in-your-face New Yorker. But she does have another side, too.

What is absolutely maddening to me in this post-Garland period: that so many are making the story about Pamela Geller. The story should be about Islam -- and exactly what in the Islamic texts promotes jihad.

At Infidel Bloggers Alliance, after watching the post-Garland media circus for a few days, I wrote a brief essay about what's driving me up the wall: 2015

    1. I undersand that very well, AOW, and I than you for your input.

The controversy about Ms. Geller, however, stems not from DENIAL of the correctness of her observations OR of her unalienable RIGHT to make them, but rather of the STYLE with which she presents her findings.

Is it WISE to present what-we-know-to-be-the-truth in such a strident, flamboyant, deliberately provocative fashion –– meaning is her strategy going to be EFFECTIVE, or is it most apt to BACKFIRE?

THAT is the question. I'm only asking by he way. I'm trying TODAY to maintain a position of neutrality to help advance the debate and no merely appeal o raw emotion. As you know, that is VERY hard to do when tempers run high.

There would have been backfire, anyway. Jihadists, once committed in their hearts, will try to carry out attacks. Fortunately, the AFDI art exhibit was well protected -- something that Geller and Spencer made sure of and paid for from their own pockets.

I think that there wouldn't be so much stridency among us counter-jihadists if our government were making an attempt to be "the strong man." For 1400 years, Islam has respected the strong man -- and not much else.

Suppose you have an aunt, a fine woman, but she is fat and ugly.

Do you announce out loud that she is fat and ugly?

That would be truthful, but it would also be hateful.

    3. Ramalama,

Your brand of logic only goes so far. What you say is perfectly true, but it would NOT apply if by some remote possibility the ugliness of his aunt had a direct bearing in our national security. In that case all the normal rules no longer apply, the gloves come off, and –– from my point of view –– we (should) do whatever needs to be done to separate the creature permenently from the breathing population.

Do WE not have the right not to be offended, when we see our fellow Americans be BEHEADED on the internet? Does the freedom of speech count when it involves the possibility of criticism and ridicule of what Pamela Gella did in Garland, Texas?

Have we already forgotten what happened on September 11, 2001 when three thousand of our totally innocent Americans were murdered by a cowardly attack on the Twin Towers in New York and at the Pentagon in Washington? Well who did it? Were we offended when that happened?

Or are we going to say, as Hillary Clinton said, “'What difference does it make at this point?” Did that attack and so many others after it just become ancient history?
Is it going to take another 9/11 to wake us up again?

Pamela Geller who leads the American Freedom Defense Initiative hasn’t forgotten. But as I read in so many blogs and other places, not to many of us stand behind her! I personally believe that Pamela Geller should be applauded, praised, and supported. for her guts to do what she did, not to be ostracized and ridiculed.
And lets not allow Pamela Geller to become another Salman Rushdie. So please, stand up for your right of Free Speech, and your right to insult if you wish to.

  14. I wonder, what would be the equivalent of the attack on our World Trade center where 3,000 innocent lives were lost by the Murdering Muslims, and Pamela Geller’s Muhammad cartoon drawing contest in Garland, Texas?
I for one believe that Pamela Geller should be praised, for showing America and the rest of the world that we Americans are not going to be intimidated by these Radical bullies. Are we going to change our way of life and throw our Freedom of Speech out the window because we are afraid of offending these Religious Fanatics, this so called Religion of Piece? the liberal ideal of tolerance.
If we live in fear, then the terrorists have won. Don't be fooled; it is not about cartoons, this is about our criticism of Islam. Did they think that way when they crashed those Airplanes into the World Trade center killing 3,000 people or what they did in Washington to the Pentagon? I don’t think so!
When are we Americans going to realize that the Islamist Radicals of the world don’t need any provocation? When are we going to stand up on our own two feet and shout that we are Not Going To Take It Anymore?
The left is taking the argument that Pam Geller was wrong to provoke them. Seriously? I say Pam Geller has the absolute right to draw any cartoon she wants to, be it of the of the Prophet Muhammad or of anyone else. Be it of hateful cartoons about any religious figure she so chooses, including the Prophet Muhammad or about the president of the United States. That’s what Free Speech is all about. I’m sorry but I defend the "right to hate". Do the Muslims have the right to Kill? Does the left support people murdering others? You either have Freedom of Speech of you don't.

  20. Well Professor Maxine Beardella, PhD,who seems to be so negative.
Please let me defend ”that woman”, who’s name incidentally happens to be Pamela Geller, (as if you didn’t know) who in my opinion happens to be a very brave, and courageous woman who really should not have to be defended by any American!
A women who has spoken up for lots of Americans who would have the equivalent to equivalent courage, to do what she did. Throughout the past 10 or so years since 9-11 years, she has stood up not only against the Anti-Semitism and worse shown by the radical Islamist towards her race the Jews but also against the coming genocide aimed at Christians and for that matter anyone who refuses to give into to radical Islam. The facts are clear as to this yet she is vilified and worse for not only standing her ground against theses savages but for having the temerity to actually challenge those who feel she and others have no right to question them.

Radical Muslims are not only beheading Americans, but killing Jews and Christians alike by the thousands. And why? Just because they weren’t Muslims! They have openly stated their intent of not only wiping Israel off the face of the earth but also any religion or people that do not follow their Sick and Psychotic religious policies. And who do you think they will want to murder after the Israeli’s? Us Americans, that’s who!!!
Of course, our dear leader in the White house, Mr. Obama acts more like a tribal king than a democratic leader and one who sympathizes most with those whose animals. And not only that but he doesn’t have the balls to stand up to or worse is in full sympathy with the very one of these savages that are intent on destroying this country and killing us. So of course, when a woman in fact has the cajones to stand up and comment, she must be slammed down by the Liberal scum who kiss his boots and bow down to him as if he were a member of the royalty or monarchy.

Pam Geller has been correct in everything she has said, including the fact that this President and his party as well as the rest of the cowardly morons who call it hate speech or worse are willing to take away our basic rights in order to force their views on the rest of us! Rather than call her these awful names, and to chastise her as you do,we need to listen to her and more than that we need to offer her our support. After all she is on the side of freedom, and free speech, our side.
Some think that she was wrong to incite the terrorists, I say since when does this Country worry about offending the same people who want to kill us, and who has killed us?

Let’s take a look at exactly what she did that was “so wrong” let’s start with the and the draw Mohammed contest that brought about the latest “outrage” in this country. Did you don't see any Hate Speech in what she did? I didn’t! Don’t you think that she has the right to say and think what she wants to? Please note Professor Maxine Beardella, PhD, from my perspective the scum balls that were gunned down got exactly what they deserved!
As I say above, I think that Pam Geller is a brave woman and a hero. I am proud to stand with Pamela Geller and I find it to be disheartening that many of us American’‘s out there are willing to give up Free Speech or worse and in fact stand with an evil bunch of savages that rivals Hitler and maybe even worse! When are Americans going to realize that the Islamists are out to not only murder us, but to slaughter us, as they did to Ambassador Stevens, the Ambassador in Benghazi who was was raped and murdered during the attack on the U.S. Consulate.
So I have to ask YOU Professor Maxine Beardella, PhD why are YOU so against what Ms. Geller has done. And why aren’t YOU with are the rest of us, who admire what she has done?

  23. It's not about me?

The centerpiece of this post is you scolding me.

Then, not satisfied with that, you serve up bloody chunks of red meat comments from where you went to Western Hero and scolded me some more.

Anyway, I'm glad I could pitch in a lend a hand.

    1. I see that Lucianne Goldberg's hard and fast rule of NEVER permitting posters at her site to refer to each other by name may be the best policy after all. It took me years to understand why. Now i know.

I was not "scolding" you. That's an absurd accusation. I was expressing a difference of opinion that frankly supported the position taken by a well-liked mutual friend of ours. It was not so much AGAINST you as FOR her.

No hard feelings, old pal. We're pulling the wagon in the same direction, even the harnesses get tangled every now and then.

  25. Yes Free, we all have an opinion, on my blog, mine is the one that counts and I’m sure that you feel that way about yours as well. As for Pam Geller. I feel very strongly about what she did and how she feels about these RADICAL MUSLIM MURDERING PIGS.
And if we don’t stand behind someone like her, then we are nothing more than a bunch of winning cowardly sheep. And we don’t stand up to a damned thing, She did what she did knowing that the s**t was going hit the fan, and that didn’t stop her.

As for the wimps who are against what she did (because as they say, she put others in danger) if we sit idly by and say nothing, then we are going to the slaughter house like the rest of those victims of those psychotic bastards. .. We’re all entitled to free speech, I don’t give a damn what those Progressive brain-dead morons say, but Don’t tell me what I can, can’t or shouldn’t say.
Bottom line; I am damned tired of those Obama ass kissers and telling me I am wrong, and that I shouldn’t say what I think! Please extend me that courtesy, as a fellow American and Conservative. And I repeat, Liberals are fascists.

    1. Your opinions are welcome here PoliChic –– as long as they pertain to the topic of the day, but I am very serious about putting a stop to NAME-CALLING and these nasty little grudge matches that flare up too often and spoil good conversation.

I think you would agree that it's childish to indulge in these practices, and it doesn't produce anything of value.

I know it gives a momentary relief from tension and feels sorta good to say what you'd never quite dare say to anyone's face, BUT I think it's counter-productive.

Please try to cooperate in future.

      Thanks.
