FT,
ReplyDeleteYou might enjoy the last two graphics in this post, which satirizes the contrast between Putin and Obama.
Oh yes, AOW! Life without humor is no life at all. Satire is a powerful weapon in our internal war against Depression, Anxiety and Dread.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite bits of gallows humor goes like this:
Overheard between two Jewish men, part of a group being herded toward the Crematorium:
One says, "My God! This is terrible. It is wrong that we should meekly submit to treatment like this. Why doesn't someone object, protest, REVOLT?"
"SHUT UP!," says his companion. "What are you trying to do -- make TROUBLE?
Bad taste, of course, but it is ALWAYS better to laugh than to cry -- even on your way to the gallows.
Everything is better on a Ritz...
ReplyDeleteI don't care who you are, that's funny!
ReplyDeletePersonally I'd like to see Russia deliver on restoring the elected President back to his position.
ReplyDeleteIt's appearing more and more like it was a Neo-Nazi putsch delivered by the American State Department (or its appointed representatives).
Maybe Putin will deliver a ham sandwich to "Yats"
So much for control freaks.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad, FT, RN doesn't let any of my comments post at his "moderated" board.
I agree Waylon.
ReplyDeleteBut since the Crimea is 70% Russian speaking why not hold elections and let the people of Crimea decide if they want to be part of Russia or the Ukraine (Putin)?
Nevermind. I know the answer to the question already
POWER.
You are right Thersites, when your comments resemble those a cockroach might make.
ReplyDeleteYou mean "turning the light" on a cockroach, don't you?
ReplyDeleteYou can't have your "good friends" who so rudely impersonate others exposed as "hypocrites" now, can you?
Especially when it's "On topic" for the thread!
ReplyDeleteRN isn't really RN anymore. His identity has been taken over by a Succubus -- or is it anIncubus? -- I'm never sure which s which.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate when a comment strikes me as "off," I usually get rid of it -- if I even bother to read the comments that is. The exercise becomes more onerous and less fruitful every day.
I don't feel "bad," Thersites, -- jus disgusted. There is a difference.
ReplyDeleteRN isn't really RN anymore.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. I used to sympathize with the original. Why do you still link to him?
@RN: I know the answer to the question already.
ReplyDeleteI thought there was a sitting President. He was apparently elected. Who were the cockroaches that decided to replace him and why?
He fled to the Crimea. Now Russia and Putin are involved.
Somehow the media here omits mentioning anything about the people a d countries involved in the putsch to change the leader for "Yats", the chosen one.
Facist brow beating?
ReplyDeleteThe horror!....
Whatever Thersites.
ReplyDeleteCarry on....
