ReplyDeleteInquiring minds want to know.
We should anticipate increased drone strikes, air strikes, arming the Kurds, etc. It is a fallacy that Obama has done little or nothing. Unfortunately it does not matter what the President does, he is wrong either way. There is foremost the bagger agenda to pursue.
ReplyDeleteWhoopee!!!
Absolutely ISIS , and other terrorist must be eradicated. However, for it to be a permanent fix the Arab states, their people, and other Muslim states must be the primary drivers. And, cutting the flow of billions upon billions of USA dollars glowing east via oil trade is crucial.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your suggestions? Other than KABOOM?

ReplyDeleteI'm tired of seeing and hearing the word bagger.
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteI'm with you on that, AOW. I would have jettisoned that comment if you had not responded to it.
ReplyDeleteI have warned certain other "contributors" that all references to "baggers," "gun loons," "Saint Ronnie Raygun" and the like will be eradicated.
In fact I remove dozens of mindless, witless, coarse, rudely denigratory posts nearly every week, even when I agree with their basic point of view, because we seem to have lost any sense of how to debate without descending to the level of a cockfight or a barroom brawl.
Aggressive insolence, sneering sarcasm and unrelieved contrariness are objectionable approaches to discourse too many who fancy themselves "Conservative" or "Libertarian" have picked up from the Left.
When we start to emulate our cultural and ideological enemies, we should know that as a sure sign their victory is imminent.
I generally avoid slang, buzzwords, stock news media terminology, popular clichés and vulgarity [unless I'm lampooning someone else's style or trying to make a point where no other terminology could serve as well, but I do try to keep these instances rare].
ReplyDeleteWell this is what we "libtards" read on conservative blogs every day:
"If you want to see what Communism looks like, acts and says, watch and listen to the Democratic Party.
The American People who are members of the Democratic, Liberal, Progressive Party march to the drum of Communism."
The term "bagger" is mild compared with labeling all Democrats, liberals, and progressives as Communists.
Every male in my family served his country in all the armed services: Navy, Air Force, Marines, Army. And they all voted for Democrats. The people who label those brave men or ANYONE "Communists" are worse, IMO, than people who label a political group "baggers." That term has nothing to do with a person's loyalty to the U.S.
BTW, Mr. Free Thinke, it is YOU who always reminds us that we shouldn't be offended by names and you've defended people, yourself included, who have used labels and name-calling -- of course only when it is a slur against political parties and people you dislike.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering why you're employing political correctness vis-a-vis "baggers."

ReplyDeleteNow, what should we do about ISIS or ISIL, or HAMAS, or AL QAIDA -- or any other of these perverse, demented, sadistic, utterly barbaric Arabs -- and their benighted Fellow Travelers in the West, namely disaffected Negroes, spoiled rich white kids with no proper goals or values, misfits, busybodies who think they know something and chronic malcontents?
ReplyDeleteI DON'T KNOW what we SHOULD DO, do YOU, Les?
Does ANYONE?
I can, however, tell you what we should NOT do.
We should not engage in yet-another half-assed, half-hearted military action bound only to cost us billions we don't have, and thousands of young American lives terminated prematurely or hideously maimed and destined to be a burden to themselves, their families and all of society till death mercifully claims them.
We've all heard and seen it repeated endlessly:
"Doing the same thing over and over again in the hope of obtaining a different result is a classic definition of insanity."
Serving the selfish, indubitably destructive interests of The Oligarchs [Ike famously called them The Military-Industrial Complex, but it's more complex than that. AIPAC is certainly involved for one, so are the International Bankers and Financiers and the Owners and Suppliers of Raw Materials] is the LAST thing we should even CONSIDER.
And yet ...
History seems to be repeating, itself, once again. The polarizing effects of "ENEMETICS" are pushing us, pulling us, and kicking us into yet another Korea, Vietnam, Iraq-style BOOBY TRAP.
What is the Ultimate Goal of The Oligarchs?
It's very simple. Obviously they work ceaselessly to play all ends against the middle, keep historic hatreds and bitter enmity alive while fomenting violent conflict. Their aim is to bankrupt the US, destroy our sovereignty and achieve World Domination.
"They" are so smart -- and so unbelievably wicked -- "they" have managed to keep factions of every description at each other's throats, while "THEY" rake in the profits and amass greater and greater POWER.
It's the old Golden Rule, everybody. As in "HE WHO HAS the MOST GOLD RULES."
The ANTIDOTE, of course, would be fervent devotion of the Holy Word of Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ, but that demands personal SACRIFICE, so, unfortunately, that seems to be the very LAST thing most want to hear.
Like Scarlett O'Hara, who "threw away happiness with both hands," because of her adolescent devotion to the insipid Ashley Wilkes, HUMANITY despises rejects and kicks aside it's One and Only Chance for Redemption, Fulfillment and Salvation.

ReplyDeleteDear, Miss Shaw, any attempt to deny that the Democratic Party has long ago been transformed into The American Marxist-Communist-Socialist-Fabian-Statist Party is patently absurd, for that is EXACTLY what you ARE.
ReplyDeleteA clear statement of absolute, verifiable fact hardly qualifies as "name-calling."
I am glad you regard "COMMUNIST" as a term of opprobrium, but if you ever put yourself through the rigors of an honest and thorough examination of the motivation behind the sentiments you vehemently espouse, and those you choose to deride, there is no other conclusion you could draw.
I have read both The Communist Manifesto AND Stalin's Constitution for the U.S.S.R. Their close resemblance to the Democratic Party Platform since the days of FDR should STUN while producing Shock, Awe and Heartbreak in the minds and hearts of every patriotic American.
The extent to which we have been flimflammed, duped, hornswoggled, euchered, bamboozled and checkmated by the incursions, depredations and sheer viciousness of Cultural Marxism's Long March Through the Culture is enough to stop your breath,
As AOW says in the margin of he blog, "THE TRUTH IS NOT HATE SPEECH."
And if you want to think I have just insulted you, I suggest you reexamine your order of priorities. Once tried, I assure you they WILL be found wanting, and if you have a shred of intellectual honesty left in your sadly misguided, thoroughly indoctrinated worldview, you would ADMIT how wrong you have been, repent and join those of us who still strive towards the light.
One of those deleted just asked why I jettison all the insulting comments directed towards Miss Shaw?
ReplyDeleteHere is your answer, which you would have noted had you taken the trouble to READ the COMMENTS before spewing your mindless vitriol:
"... I remove dozens of mindless, witless, coarse, rudely denigratory posts nearly every week, even when I agree with their basic point of view, because we seem to have lost any sense of how to debate without descending to the level of a cockfight or a barroom brawl.

"When we start to emulate our cultural and ideological enemies, we should know that as a sure sign their victory is imminent."
I hope that answers our question ONCE and for ALL.
All one has to do is witness how brutally the conservatives especially that Lump of Fat who hinds behind his microphone has treated Sandra Fluke to understand how a majority of women reject their ideology where it concerns their well-being and their issues. Change has to come in the GOP if they want women's votes. But it will be a difficult job as long as the GOP continues to elect the sort of men who believe a woman's place is in an apron with a mop in her hand.
ReplyDeleteI happen to LIKE Miss Shaw, personally.
ReplyDeleteThat does not mean, however, that I necessarily must agree with all her views, nor she with mine for us to remain friends. I hope she feels the same, but I dare not require it as a condition of friendship.
In MY view that is how it SHOULD be.
Mindless devotion to a country, cause, religion or ideology -- properly called CHAUVINISM -- is NEVER a good thing. We should constantly reexamine our priorities, and try always to understand WHY what we support what we believe to be right, and at the same time be willing to admit when we are wrong.
We should also pray to gain enough wisdom to know the difference. ;-)
"We can never be sure that the opinion we wish to stifle is a false opinion; and if we were sure, stifling it would be an evil still."
~ John Stuart Mill (1806-1873)
I agree, however I feel compelled to add that in all probability John Stuart Mill was never confronted with Islamic Barbarism.
He never knew Communism or Naziism either.

"...any attempt to deny that the Democratic Party has long ago been transformed into The American Marxist-Communist-Socialist-Fabian-Statist Party is patently absurd, for that is EXACTLY what you ARE."
ReplyDeleteSorry. No one defines me and tells me what I am, least of all someone who many people see as being rigid and reactionary on social and political issues.
If you and your friends wish to label me a Communist, that's your choice, but it's wrong. In this country that label is tantamount to calling me a traitor and supporter of murderous regimes, words have meanings and consequences. I should think someone who knows how to use language would be more careful.
As to the trolls who are attracted to this site and continue to direct slurs and epithets at me, I'm reminded of what Margaret Thatcher once said about this:
“I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.”
PS. I just noticed the troll "The Progressive Queen" has copied and pasted text from my blog. She/he/it has to be the dumbest of the dumb spreading my opinions all over conservative blogs, so that I get more people to read them. Positively weird.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what her/his/its purpose in doing this is, other than, of course, making a fool of him/her/itself.
Miss Shaw may wish to make fun of El Rushbo, but El Rushbo has more knowledge about whats going on in America then Miss Shaw and her Messiah all rolled up in a big Fat ball..
ReplyDeleteWell, excuse me for presenting the conservative side of a discussion. I merely stated the facts as they are, not as they are miss-interpreted by Miss Shaw and the rest of the Lefty Moon-bats. For this, I was insulted and called names, on her blog. Shame on all of you, including you so-called know it all leftist imbicles. I'll go now and turn myself into the thought police for my heinous crimes.
ReplyDeleteFYI, the troll who calls himself "Fast Freddie" has NEVER left a comment on my blog. Until today, I've never seen his name.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with these people who can't write anything that isn't a lie?
Sheesh.

DeletePlease try to stop personalizing everything, Miss Shaw. I was not trying to describe YOU -- unless you consider yourself totally synonymous with your party platform -- I WAS giving my views on the philosophical orientation of that platform. That was ALL.
ReplyDeleteI dislike these little skirmishes over who's who and who's a troll or a fake and whatnot, because, personally, I don't care.
You should appreciate my steadfast determination to DELETE remarks purely insulting to you -- and others too.
I don't allow anyone to define ME either, Ma'am, and if someone wants to regard me as "rigid and reactionary" socially, politically or any other way, it proves only how very little they know about me.
And by the way labelling someone a "Reactionary" qualifies more as "name calling" than referring to someone a Democrat, a Republican a Socialist, a Communist a Protestant, a Catholic, or a Muslim.
"Name-calling" is when you refer to another as a moron, an idiot, an imbecile, a dirty son-of-a-bitch, a louse, a heel, a bum, a pig, a slob, a piece of filth, a POS, a drunk, a nigger, a gook, a wog, a sheeny, a mockie, a kike, a spic, a shithead, etc.
I try to do it as little as possible, but Alas! I am not perfect.
HOWEVER, none of tha really matters, though we've become overfond of insisting that it does.
Just remember we could call a rose a turd, but it would still smell like a rose and vice versa.
That's all we mortals need to know, and all we can know. ;-)

ReplyDeleteBreaking News!: Wearing his an ugly Panama Jack suit Obama ordered air strikes on Islamic State forces in Iraq.. The strikes destroyed an Islamic State armed vehicle, an Islamic State elderly lady, and significantly damaged an Islamic State tooth brush manufacturing building.
Obama’s golf outing after Foley beheading was a huge mistake
ReplyDeleteBy Michael Goodwin
Most important, it makes threats against America, saying, “We will drown all of you in blood.” It vows to raise its black flag over the White House and threatened Chicago and other cities.
All of this, especially the beheading of Foley and the threat to kill another American journalist it holds, are aimed at stopping even modest US support for the Iraqi army.
Yet the president, after giving a perfunctory speech about the horror of it all, shrugged his shoulders. Later, his attorney general said a criminal investigation had been opened, as if the beheading was just a crime.
It is hard to fathom what Obama is doing or thinking. No explanation comes close to being satisfactory.
With fellow Democrats faulting him, and with threats to America multiplying, it is impossible to excuse his conduct on the grounds of ignorance. If he only knows what the public sees, that would be more than enough to develop a strategy.
Indeed, it’s possible his military advisers are going public with terrifying claims about the terrorist group because they, too, are alarmed by his passivity. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, normally low-key, said of the Islamic State: “This is beyond anything that we’ve seen. So we must prepare for everything.”
Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called it “an organization that has an apocalyptic, end-of-days strategic vision that will eventually have to be defeated.”
His use of the word “defeated” was in contrast to Obama, who talked only of “containing” the Islamic State when he approved limited airstrikes.
There was, of course, another response from the president last week. After the storm started over the golf outing, White House officials confirmed there had been a secret raid to free Foley and others in July, but it failed.
Leftwing progs blather on about "baggers,' but a president who publicly announces he has no policy is the real danger.

In Defense of Barack Obama’s Tan Suit
Obama Says ‘We Don’t Have a Strategy Yet’ for Fighting ISIS, well DUH, why tell the whole world that?
We all know that Female politicians have been criticized for what they wear since they first began running for office. Hair too long, skirt too short, too much or too little makeup: any and all of it can derail an interview and focus attention on style over substance. It almost doesn’t matter what you say if you don’t look good doing it.
What else can I say except, that I guess that he gets this stupidity, and BAD taste from his wife.
Obama looked ridiculous in that Tan Suit, where is Heidi Klum, or Tim Gunn when you need them?
Their are supposedly hundreds of ISIL members with US and European Passport. Why do they need to go through the US\Mexican border? It's a lot easier to simply fly on a plane and then buy what you need the some of that money they have, correct?
ReplyDeleteThe border is not wide open, harder to cross then it's ever been. However it can't ever be shut down. We don't have the money for that. Fantasyland stuff to thing we could.
A: ISIS did not want authority's knowing who they are and when they entered the country. For what I have been reading and hearing in places they intend to use unconventional weapons when they do attack us.
B: They are trained to wear disguises how to blend in and not get stopped by law enforcement and to not communicate on devices.
C. The government can shut down the boarder right now and we already paid for it to be shut down several times over. It way to late they are clearly here and are going to hit us.
D: ISIS does not hold the same value to 9/11 that the older terrorist organizations do. When they hit us they will hit the British at the same time. That will not be in weeks it will be in days.
E: ISIS knows the U.N. can not be an effective fighting force, right now ISIS is just wiping the floor up with them and are planning on making sure they are unable to operate in the region forever.

Suitgate?
ReplyDeleteIs that a joke or have our media sunk even lower?
I've been blogging since 2005. Every election year (midterm and national), the blogosphere gets exceptionally nasty.
ReplyDeleteIt's ugly.
However, I'm not sure that it really means much.

__________ OBAMA as JAY GATSBY __________
ReplyDelete_____ Or the Great Ice Cream Suit Caper _____
It's that Ol' Darktown Strutter's Ball Effect that bothers Representative Peter King, R, New York. You who think making a fuss over the president’s new Jazzbo wardrobe may be unaware of symbolism and insensitive to the subtle influences Design has on the way audiences receive theatrical presentations, but I assure you wearing what-we-always-called an Ice Cream Suit during a public presentation after the horrendous events we've experienced this summer constitutes a not-so-subtle mental thumbing of Obama's nose at all of us.
How would you have felt if he had made his speech wearing his golfing attire -- or in a bathing suit? The "Ice Cream Suit" -- something I've never seen him wear before -- is not very far from either.
For people who know and care about such things light elegant attire of this sort is meant to be worn at cocktails on the verandas of exclusive country clubs during summer getaways from the serious business of the world.
Even in this careless age of Anything Goes, anything still does NOT go when it comes to the behavior of heads of state. The Ice Cream Suit was a deliberate slap in the face of Propriety.
Obama as Jay Gatsby doesn't cut it anymore than Jay Gatsby, himself, did when trying to impress favorably the careless, cruel members of the Upper Echelons of New York's High Society.
BBBZZZZZTTTT ... Yes, that's Beulah the Buzzer telling FT he's wrong.
ReplyDeleteAn "an ice cream suit" is generally white. Tan does not constitute such a suit.
An Ice Cream Suit isn't necessarily white.
ReplyDeleteFrom this source:
ReplyDeleteFor a fortnight, while he played golf on holiday in Martha’s Vineyard, the world clamoured for President Obama to return to Washington DC and speak up on a slew of international crises.
So when he did make it to the podium, there was an immediate outpouring of passionate reaction — to his beige suit.
It is true, that Mr Obama once told Vanity Fair: “I wear only grey or blue suits,” so the sudden switch was notable.
That Tan suit makes him look like a white man with a Miami Florida tan!
ReplyDeleteWhat a “a fashion statement”!
My deepest Apology to all you white men with Miami Florida tans, out there!
It certainly is a tell tale sign when certain people find nothing bettet to do than critiicize the President's suit color.
ReplyDeleteThe hatred for the man indeed runs deep in some circles.
Unfortunately Shaw, but when Regan wore that suit pictured on “YOUR” blog, it was 25 years ago.. Fashions have changed a bit since then... and Obama is NOT the Statesman that Regan was, by no means what so ever.
ReplyDeleteBesides Tan Suits are very popular these days, in Haiti, or the Congo!

What seems to be your problem or are you just an agitator?
This thread has turned into a thread about obama's failed policies and priorities. And his looking stupid in that “Tan Suit” of his..Do you have anything to add to it Mr. Rational Nation USA?
ReplyDeleteThis is what the Liberal and Progressive party does, they turn, twist and change the subject. It’s no wonder that they have been reduced to throwing “foul” and “temper tantrums”!
They have no power, and no credibility left, and the people in this country sees them as they are, a joke, so they scream foul at the internet hoping to get a blogger who “May” give them a drop of sympathy and compassion
BG, if I may call you that. I have nothing more to add. I said my piece and am quite satisfied having done so.
DeleteI posted on the stylish Tan Suite at my site. If you are interested in what I have to add to the suit sweepstakes you may visit my blog.
This sick’o doesn't need to be "understood." He doesn’t have to be ridiculed about his wearing that ridiculous tan suite either. There are plenty of actual events and illegal actions that this man has committed to be arrested for war crimes and sent to the gallows for the slaughter of thousands of innocent men, women and children in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen and now Syria.
ReplyDeleteAnd one more thing: Soon after becoming president, and before he had actually done anything, Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize. This has given him carte blanche to attack people. The people that put this inept president into office are as much to blame as he is for his irrational actions.
As for Obama's tan suit along with his telling reporters "we don't have a strategy yet" on U.S. military action in Syria against the Islamic State, Perhaps the tan suit took precedence because he ware in speaking shortly before he returned to the Golf Course.
Tyf, you may have hit on something. Personally I never believed Obama had anything to be jealous of, still don't. But those critical of a suit color may very well be coveting what the President has.

ReplyDelete"FYI, the troll who calls himself "Fast Freddie" has NEVER left a comment on my blog. Until today, I've never seen his name."
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's true, Miss Shaw, but he may have tried to post under one of a dozen -- or a hundred -- different names. One never knows here on the net who's who.
I know you think that;s outrageous, reprehensible and ought to be controlled by an authoritarian monitoring system, or regulated out of existence altogether, but to me -- the vehement libertarian -- all this game playing is part of the charm of internet communication.
I hate to repeat myself, but once again the analogy holds true.
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," as a fart by any other name would still stink out loud.
It reminds me of the "scholars" who love to cast doubts on the authorship of Shakespeare.
I happen to think that's rather silly, because what matters about "Shakespeare" is the almost uniformly magnificent quality of the plays and poetry. But it's easier to quibble about whether the man called Shakespeare -- or Chacksbur, as Ripley insisted he and others sometimes referred to his august self -- actually wrote the material, and to speculate ad nauseam about who the "real" author might have been, than to produce intelligent discourse regarding the character, content, language, and subtle shades of meaning in the plays, themselves. themselves.
"Sidetracking" discussion has always been a "speciality" of the Left. It embarrasses and depresses me to see fellow conservative-libertarians indulge in similar practices.
Seems to me that being driven into a frothing rage by the controlled media of today, especially these gruesome details of ISIS and their activities, is one thing that unites most people across the political spectrum everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this group the same one that was recently being backed by the United states of America in its attempt to oust Assad from Syria. Being as well-backed financially as they are reported to be, should we conclude that they likely are still supported covertly by those same up-standing folks out to impose a one world government on this planet?
Looks like it's more a fear mongering scheme to allow imposing greater "security" that will gladly be provided . Any bets that it's leading to another false flag terrorist attack to advance the cause in Western Europe and North America?
"This thread has turned into a thread about obama's failed policies and priorities. And his looking stupid in that 'Tan Suit' of his ...

Yes, Ben Gazi, I couldn't agree more. This started with a tingue-in-cheek cartoon aimed at the extreme violence and brute savagery of ISIS -- the crise du jour in the Middle East, and look where we are now after quibbling and sniping with puffed up indignation over petty partisan trifles was injected into the conversation.
It would be downright comical, if it weren't so sad.
Far too many are engaged in the lamentably unprofitable business of "straining out gnats, while swallowing camels," or taking personal umbrage at accusations never directed at them, personally.
I think too many have become ADDICTED to ANGER and endless RECRIMINATIONS. It's a great way to avoid confronting the substance of the grim realities threatening peace and prosperity everywhere we turn.
To ut it crudely but clearly:
We now search earnestly for the hole in every doughnut, fly in every jar of ointment, the worm in every apple, the cobwebs in every corner, the pimple on every face, etc.
We've become a nation of "Nattering Nabobs of Negativism" spouting "Ferocious Fusillades of Fatuity."
In short we are "Full of Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing."
In busily dwelling solely on flaws we MISS the BEAUTY, the WONDER, the GLORY of the WHOLE -- and all the FUN we might still have, if only we worked to see the HUMOR in things.
PITIFUL, I calls it.
Thank you WAYLON. That's exactly what I feel and have already said, albeit in my own orotund fashion, when I inveighed against being duped yet again into serving the interests of The Oligarchs, which are -- and always have been -- contrary to the best interests of American citizens and most others as well.
