Springtime for Obama
In Cairo and in Tripoli,
In Yemen and Amman,
Our Foreign Service diplomats
Are mobbed and set upon.
At embassies and consulates
In London and Kuwait,
The mobs that burn the Stars and Stripes
Spew venom, rage and hate.
From Europe to the Middle East
The street has gone berserk,
Infecting Asians, Africans,
The Arab and the Turk.
To which the Foggy Bottom crowd
Expresses its remorse;
They find the safest thing to blame:
America, of course.
And with the rising body count,
And chaos from the crowd,
The White House gives a firm response:
“We couldn’t be more proud.”
I love the Bard of Murdock!
ReplyDeleteThe word for the day, boys and girls, is Doggerel.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Canardo, for exhibiting once again your gracious, diplomatic approach to blog commentary.
ReplyDeleteIf Dale Carnegie had only had the inestimable privilege of knowing you, I'm sure he would have been very proud to use you as THE Perfect Example of how NOT to win friends and influence people.

The Bard is a pithy man, and Ducky is a pissy man.
ReplyDeleteWill Rogers obviously never met Ducky.
Aw let's be sweet for a change, and say he's more PRISSY than PISSY, Silver.
ReplyDeleteOur Canardo really does have any number of fine qualities. It's just that he takes such great pains to HIDE them most of the time.
Well, we all get snarky from time to time, don't we?
I certainly am no exception. (:-s
Anyway, The Bard of Murdock is both clever and admirably industrious. As an admirer and writer of verse of all kind, myself, I was more than pleased to find a colleague in cyberspace able employing an unusual form of political commentary (these days!) I appreciate and enjoy so much, myself.

And thanks again, AOW, for putting me in touch with The bard of Murdock.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great, too often unsung, facilitator in the art of intercommunication among disparate sources.

Here's your October Surprise!..
ReplyDeleteObama Administration Knew Libya Attack Was Terrorism
Sources confirm to Fox News that the Obama administration knew from Day One that the deadly attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was an act of terror. White House officials, including President Obama, have held to the explanation that the attack was a 'spontaneous action.
Is anyone surprised at the massive Obamedia cover up?
Obama’s lies begin to crumble
Lets just hope at Romney runs with it!
"Lets just hope at Romney runs with it!"
ReplyDeleteYes, sir, but we all know he won't. If anything, he'll run FROM it, because he thinks it's too "impolite" and "unseemly" to "insult" a sitting president.
We NEEDED a man like New Gingrich to run against Obooboo, but The Reblicans never tire of playing the role of The Stupid Party, so they nominated Bob Dole, George H W Bush, Dubya," John McCain, and now Mitt Romney.
Talk about being STUCK on STUPID.
We pubbies sho is dat, pappy. We SHO is DAT!

ReplyDeleteEnlightenment I failed to find
However hope remains
For rational mankind
Les,
ReplyDeleteI do agree with thee,
However I can see
While rationality
May spell superiority
Of it unfortunately,
There is a paucity.
Alas! David Hume appears to be correct. "Reason is but the Slave of Passion."

Said the Scottish philosopher Hume,
As he plunged into womb after womb,
"Egad! it is smashin'
This surfeit of Passion --
A sure cure for boredom and gloom."
