KID
Whose Determination to Keep His Gaze Fixed Firmly on the Stars Has Helped All His Readers Gain a Better Sense of Perspective about Our Own Rightful Place in the Universe.
Great Music like The Planets
Should Help Us Do the Same.
We All Need to Focus on Things Greater Than Ourselves, if We Hope to Keep Our Sanity.
We hope the wonder and glory of this awe-inspiring suite of symphonic tone poems helps you to focus more on Eternity than petty grievances, the blindness and stupidity of politicians and the ever present challenges
of day-to-day living.
of day-to-day living.
Thanks Much FT, and I'm glad you enjoy the stuff.
ReplyDeleteI do, Kid, and I was hoping that you –– and others –– would enjoy Holst's music, and feel how incredibly well it relates to the vastness, mystery, and awe-inspiring wonder of Outer Space.
DeleteI finally got around to listening to it. Love it.
DeleteIt's not a work of science at all, Kid, –– just the creation of a unique imagination, –– but I swear it gives an incredibly accurate feeling of what it must be like IN Outer Space.
DeleteYou know ALL our greatest achievements as a species began in someone's IMAGINATION.

Astrology or astronomy? I'm more into the latter... ;)
DeleteWhoops! You're right. ASTRONOMY is the correct term, but ASTROLOGY is to my ear is more euphonious.
DeleteASTRONOMY sounds too much like PASTRAMI to me, and I can't stand garlic pickles with my morning coffee. (:-o
"I'll have Asreonomy on Rye, but please hold the pickles."

ReplyDeleteIF I understand you rightly, –– which is very hard to say –– I have to agree that the bitter, nicest, and idonoclas, in twentieth-century "French Thought" has had a dispiriting, disparagimg, disorienting, disintegrating effect on Western Civilization.
DeleteIs wonderful to hear appreciation of beautiful music
