The Nativity- Fra Angelico, c. 1440 |
On Christmas Day
On Christmas Day the King of Kings is born
New each year since first appeared the Star.
Children breathlessly await the morn,
Hope for gifts, not knowing that they are
Royally endowed with rich rewards
Internally, because our God above
Sent His Son, the tiny Lord of Lords
To demonstrate the power of His Love.
Mammon calls, and parents feel they must
Afford material delights that glow
Seductively inflaming vicious lust,
Denying Mind and Spirit’s need to grow.
A trough not fit for kin that nourished kine
Yields again the King of Love Divine.

"There is no life, truth intelligence or substance in matter
ReplyDeleteAll is Infinite Mind and it's infinite manifestation,
For God is All-in-All.
Spirit is immortal Truth.
Matter is mortal error.
Spirit is God, and Man is His image and likeness,
Therefore, Man is not material, he is spiritual."
~ Mary Baker Eddy, discoverer and founder of Christian Science
As a man of faith, though I may often doubt, it is never my business to bolster or spread doubt, but rather to do my best to affirm faith in God by acts of Charity motivated by Love and good Conscience.
~ FreeThinke, who wishes you, everyone you love, and everyone who concerns you a very Merry Christmas.
With God all things are possible. Without Him nothing is possible but confusion, destruction, unending hostility, grief and despair. We can of our own selves do nothing but cause trouble.
"He who troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind."
~ Proverbs, 11:29
