Mirror, mirror in my hand
Who's the vilest in our land?
The mirror didn't say a word
But thought, "The question's too absurd
The country's run by knaves and fools
For citizens who act like ghouls
Sucking on each pus-filled sore
Destroying their esprit de corps
By taking a perverse delight
In cursing Dark while loathing Light

See One of the Vilest of the Vile Self-Destructs on TV, Because He Insults One of His Own Who Happens to be The Vilest of Them All.
I Swear these Filthy Swine would have no Compunctions about Devouring their Young, If they thought it Expedient.
TO THIS WE’VE COME!
What is your fixation on Her Thighness?
ReplyDeleteI like Bill Maher. He gets in the faces of the PC police
In the faces of the PC Police? He IS the PC Police!
ReplyDeleteANYONE who bad-talks "others" is a PC enforcer. And Bill Maher bad-talks EVERYONE (but mostly Republicans and religious conservatives).
ReplyDeleteIt's just as I said:
ReplyDeleteThe Vile acting Vile toward The Vilest of the Vile.
What could be viler? ;-)
Bile Maher is a sworn enemy of Jesus Christ, and must, therefore, be counted as a Disciple of Satan.
The irony of anyone of his wretched ilk attacking Madam HILLARY is so thick it could be cut with a knife.
This would all carry more weight, FT, if you mocked a conservative yahoo now and again.
ReplyDeleteHow about something on the Vulgar Pigboy, O'Really, (m)Ann Coulter or any of those incoherent banshees?
Pot to Kettle...
ReplyDeleteHillary looked into the magic mirror and this exchange ensued.
ReplyDelete“Mirror, mirror in my hand,
Who's the fairest in the land?”
The mirror sighed,
And then replied,
"The men have got you beat hands down,
You wretched, braying, rump-sprung clown."

Ducky,
ReplyDeleteI've made my extreme distaste for Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity well known for over ten years. The former is an obnoxious, hypocritical, overbearing blowhard, the latter an equally rude, gratingly vociferous wannabe with the IQ of a bouquet of dried stinkweed.
Ann Coulter, a great favorite of mine, is another matter, and I won't hear a word against her.
HOWEVER, love 'em or hate 'em, none of these people is in a position of authority -- none has the power to affect my financial security, the quality of my medical care, the price I must pay for goods and services, the kind of food I may eat, or any of a million other things that make life the tedious debilitating thing it tends to be whenever progressives take hold of the levers of power. The :eft drives up costs, reduces quality, limits freedom of choice and freedom of association as it rewards failure and punishes success.
Columnists, TV pundits and radio talk show hosts have no such power.
By the way, you above all ought to know that I do not get my ideas from Rush Limbaugh. HE gets HIS from ME -- and millions of others like me. };-)>
ReplyDeleteWhen I need a moron to make a judgement call about who is more Vile Bile Maher or Ann Coulter,....I'll be sure to call on you.
Call on whom, TPC? Surely not the owner of this blog who happens to have one of the cleverest, most discerning minds in the blogging community.

Bill Maher got fired again? Where did these guys get that tag from?
ReplyDeleteI like Bill Maher. I prefer Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but I'd put Maher right with them. Very smart and clever man. The Righties just hate him because they don't have talent like that on their side.

Give it up, Jersey. They have (m)Ann Coulter.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think FT is indirectly lampooning the rather vulgar national dialog and how far the fringe right has moved from Bill Buckley who was at least civil even if he didn't do much except throw sand around in the libertarian sandbox.
Then he pipes up about his admiration for (m)Ann. Either he's playing some deep inside baseball or I just don't get it.
It is a little schizzy.

And there, Laydeeze and Gennimun, you have just been presented with two primary examples of the grotesque Reaction Formation ninety-plus years of insidious attack on manners morals and mores has produced.
ReplyDeleteCole Porter saw it, and defined it brilliantly in Anything Goes -- way back in the 1934, the year after my parents were married:
... The world’s gone mad today
Good’s bad today
Black’s white today
Day’s night today
Most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos. ...
Little did he know how right he was, and how utterly debased and degenerate the culture would become just a little more than thirty years down the line.
Of course we must give credit also to P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse, and one other whose name I can’t recall, who wrote the book and contributed to the lyrics as well.
What astonishes today is how charmingly, wittily, and elegantly these Prophets of Doom presented their case. Everyone just thought it was Great Entertainment at the time -- and it certainly was that -- but Alas! also a great deal more as we have learned to our sorrow in latter years.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, been having these discussions throughout the ages at least as far back as Socrates.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. In more ways than the obvious.
We keep having 'these discussion," because -- as my high school Civics teacher so aptly put it -- "The Lesson we Learn from History is that we learn NOTHING from History."
ReplyDeleteEternal recurrence. If we have ANY "lessons from history", it's because we always try and capture, through misrecognition, a "name of the father" event name/ metaphor (point de capiton) to remember it by, so that we can recognize it later and/or MAKE it recur in a slightly altered (but more successful) form at a later date (ie -Caesar/ Kaiser/ Czar)(see 192-193)

ReplyDeleteMy young son asks me: Must I learn mathematics?
What is the use, I feel like saying. That two pieces Of bread are more than one's about all you'll end up with.
My young son asks me: Must I learn French?
What is the use, I feel like saying. This State's collapsing. And if you just rub your belly with your hand and Groan, you'll be understood with little trouble.
My young son asks me: Must I learn history?
What is the use, I feel like saying. Learn to stick Your head in the earth, and maybe you'll still survive.
Yes, learn mathematics, I tell him. Learn your French, learn your history!
