“HELL BEGINS” When humans cease to be truthful about the facts that be in their own back yard!
First of all, the POTUS (Barrack Obama) is NOT the person in the nation's highest office, he's actually the North American Globalist Errand Boy's office, which, in the grand scheme of things, equates to about a mid-level, regional managers job for the REAL powers that be.
The American Liberal media has managed to l ignore the lies told by Barack Obama, and there were plenty of them to ignore! And in some cases, both the President and his former Secretary of State, Hillary "the high priestess of evil” Clinton, totally kept their mouths clamped shut about the killing, or should I say the “Murdering” of a U.S. ambassador and three security personnel in Benghazi, Libya. It has also managed to ignore the corruption of the Internal Revenue Service by politicizing it into an instrument to deter Tea Party, Israeli organizations, and Conservative patriot groups from being granted the same non-profit status that liberal groups routinely receive. Along with other scandals such as Fast and Furious where guns were provided to Mexican drug cartels, with the Blessing of our Attorney General where were used to kill an American Border Patrol agent and countless Mexicans along the way.
It seems that the commenter above ( Rational Nation USA) has completely ignored these facts as well. .
How is your narrow-minded, agenda-driven drivel any different than the anti-Obama poster?
Are you really so small-minded as to accept the atheistic twaddled that faith and reason are incompatible?
You cling to the silly idea that science and the divine are mutually exclusive?
Can you thinking really be so impoverished?
As for group-think and collectivists, you seem to enjoy basking in the plaudits and head pats of the progressive collectivists at your blog.
I'm afraid you too have missed the point of FreeThinke's post, butting in with your narrow-minded agenda instead of taking it for the secular message it is. Apparently, you have no idea what a metaphor is.
That citation may or may not be true. If one constantly second guesses oneself with "I coulda, Ishoulda, I woulda" it should be apparent to the most casual observer no iota of happiness could be found at the end of that road, even if one sets out optimistically on the sunny side of the road of life.
It may even conflict with another pearl of wisdom: "God grant me the courage to change the things that I can change, the the serenity to accept the things I can't change and the wisdom to tell the difference".
Does this by any chance remind you of anyone -- or a particular series of "anyones" -- among your circle of acquaintances?
He preached upon “breadth” till it argued him narrow,— The broad are too broad to define: And of “truth” until it proclaimed him a liar,— The truth never flaunted a sign.
Simplicity fled from his counterfeit presence As gold the pyrites would shun. What confusion would cover the innocent Jesus To meet so enabled a man!
~ Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)
And why do you suppose no one yet has even mentioned Gian Carlo Menotti, a remarkable man whose prodigious achievements, splendid powers of creativity, compassionate insight into the human condition, and dynamic personality had (albeit for too short a time) a transformative, vigorously positive effect on the quality of American cultural life, or expressed the faintest degree of curiosity as to why a protean figure who lived The Life Triumphant, if anyone ever has, would make such a statement? It sounds very much as if he thought, despite his tremendous success, that it applied to himself.
'Tis not about me. Tis not about you. It is about "we." The rest is doo doo. 'Tis not about cold. 'Tis not about hot. 'Tis not about not, but more like Woo Hoo! Now that I've done part, it's all up to you.
I will point out again that "Rational" Nation made the absurd assertion that faith and reason are incompatible, as well as foolishly claiming that science and a belief in the divine are mutually exclusive.
All those millions of Christian doctors and scientists down through the ages and all their discoveries and contributions to mankind. How stupid they all are when compared to the most "Rational" nation and the ghost of an atheistic chain smoker!
Perhaps if you were not so oblique and instead were a plain-spoken man, much misunderstandings could be avoided.
I respect your right to ignore anything except that which slaps you in the face, but please do not bore us with sermons about science, logic and reason, at least until you can report back to us that you have read and comprehended Thomas Aquinas, for starters.
He was not give to turgid prose and cardboard cutouts with tape recorders hidden behind him like Ayn Rand (God bless her, she was indeed so right about free markets), but his logic was much tighter than the cigarette-wielding harridan.
As we grow older (65 years and over) and become senior citizens, we tend to slow down our productivity, and explore life as a retired person. It is during this time that we contemplate our accomplishments and are able to develop integrity if we see ourselves as leading a successful life.
Erik Erikson believed if we see our lives as unproductive, feel guilt about our pasts, or feel that we did not accomplish our life goals, we become dissatisfied with life and develop despair, often leading to depression and hopelessness.
Success in this stage will lead to the virtue of wisdom. Wisdom enables a person to look back on their life with a sense of closure and completeness, and also accept death without fear.
Did Menotti say the same thing in a different and better way?
Please, RN, isn't it a bit hypocritical to complain of being deleted, when you regularly censor your own blog in a much more arbitrary and capricious manner?
Try to get it it through your head that this blog is not YOUR property, and is not about YOU. I do not appreciate the little feuds you persistently indulge in with respondents here who find your remarks irritating or repellent. Usually I'm too polite to say that I agree with them, but your behavior in these occasions is decidedly trollish. In fact you make of yourself a bloody nuisance.
Your refusal to accept negative criticism or outright rejection without persistent attempts to retaliate while pretending to be entirely virtuous and far above everyone else is frankly obnoxious, and supplies evidence of emotional immaturity in your part..
You frequently talk ABOUT being "rational." "objective," and entirely "factual." Your remarks, however, bely your flamboyant claims of moral and intellectual superiority.
No one regrets more than I that you have virtually forced me to become acrimonious.
IF you find the contents of this comment section sorely lacking, try to think how I must feel. Most of it is abysmal, but you certainly have been no help in elevating the tine and content.
Why don't you make an effort to try to understand what MENOTTI might have been thinking, and how HE must have felt when moved to make that observation? Why are you so damnably INCURIOUS about the thoughts and feelings of OTHERS?
Now please just CUT IT OUT. We welcome honest differences of opinion, but not "lectures" on matters that have at best the most tangential relation to the subject at hand.
We welcome conversation But without vituperation. If you come for vilification –– Other forms of alienation –– Or too much self-justification –– We WILL use Comment Moderation.
I'd prefer to have NO COMMENTS at ALL rather than the nettlesome, toxic irrelevancy, pompous pontification, and rebarbative badinage we suffered with today. We are, therefore, most regrettably we are back on Comment Moderation, and may decide to block ALL comments if too much garbage gets dumped into our inbox.
IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING, YOU DON'T BELONG HERE, SO KINDLY GET OUT AND STAY OUT.

Why do so many avoid their best goals
ReplyDeleteBy choosing, instead, to swallow live coals?
What is more dismal than worthy endeavour?
Why carping and harping, and bitching forever!
Why consume precious time others reviling,
When you might, instead, make yourself more beguiling?
Self-immolation is good for your soul,
But captiousness ruins your chance to be whole.
Swallow live coals, and cause yourself grief.
'Tis from your own store that you play the thief.
The passing parade exhibits much folly.
Don't add to it, Bub, instead try acting jolly.
Hell was listening to today's White House centric feminist blather!

From the Erickson Psychostages:
ReplyDelete8. Ego Integrity vs. Despair
As we grow older (65 years and over) and become senior citizens, we tend to slow down our productivity, and explore life as a retired person. It is during this time that we contemplate our accomplishments and are able to develop integrity if we see ourselves as leading a successful life.
