There has been controversy in recent years concerning Mother Teresa, much of it stirred up by Christopher Hitchens, who literally played Devil's Advocate at the hearings concerning her canonization.
ReplyDeleteThose who would accuse her of being pompous, overbearing, publicity-seeking, whatever, misunderstand what a saint is. She had a singular mission: Serving poor people, and if making herself a secular star and leveraging that brought in more money to that cause, then so be it.
If we all did what we can, with what we have, where we are, the world would be a better place
