The Case FOR Chemical Weapons
Apparently, it’s AOK
To mow ‘em down with bullets,
But don’t dare try to kill ‘em off
By poisoning their pullets.
It’s all right too when bombs
Rain from aloft or on the level,
But when you kill with poison gas,
You’re in league with the Devil.
Lock ‘em in a building,
Then burn it to the ground.
By judges at The Hague
You’ll not be guilty found.
Go drag ‘em from their cells
Into a courtyard to be shot.
The World Court will not chide you,
Nor tell you “Thou shalt not.”
Take mothers, babies, toddlers ––
Grandmas –– anyone who thrives,
Then hack them with machetes
And bayonets to end their lives
Rape and loot and strangle,
Garotte or stab at will ––
Of you The World Community,
I promise, won’t think ill.
Set ‘em loose in wood or field,
Then hunt ‘em down like game;
Let half-dead bodies lie unhealed.
You won’t lose your good name.
Rob and cripple, maim at will ––
Dislocate their joints.
Multiculturalists will know
You must have your good points.
Gouge their eyes out, slit each tongue.
Sodomize, impale their young.
Club ‘em down, then crush with tractors.
Brussels won’t call you bad actors.
BUT, urinate upon the corpse
Who tortured your best buddy,
And you’ll be tossed in the stockade
With nose broken and bloody.
And should you dare to wipe yourself
With leaves from the the Koran,
‘Tis YOU The World Community
Will call BARBARIAN!

A fine outing, sir!
ReplyDeleteOuting as in PICNIC or would it be EXPOSURE?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by -- whoever you may be. ;-)
The 'Rules of War' has a bit of an oxymoronic tone, no?
ReplyDeleteI guess there is a right way and a wrong way to kill.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, BB, and that is what the verse really attempts to illustrate.
ReplyDeleteSame to you, Jerry.
No one could hate war more than I, believe me, but IF you must have a war, give it everything you've got right from the start. Don't hold back. Be as brutal as possible, and it's apt to be over and done with a lot sooner than trying to kill people using something like The Marquis of Queensbury Rules.
War is not a tennis match or a game of bridge.
"Moderation in war is imbecility."
~ Lord Acton
Hey! Thank you both for visiting. A pleasant surprise. Take care.
So every war should be a nuclear war? That's giving everything you've got right from the start.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Jerry. No I didn't mean that, of course. I was thinking of more traditional kinds of warfare.
ReplyDeleteI'm against the half-assed wars we've been waging ever since Korea. There's been no real justification for any of them. Nothing's been gained and there's been terrible loss of life, a big waste of money, and a lot of ill will. What good is that?
What I was thinking, however, is that if anyone should attack us and do serious damage -- more serious than 911 -- we should not hesitate to do whatever it takes to stamp them out as quickly as possible.
Aggressors deserve to be neutralized. That would include us too, if we were anywhere near as bad as many like to think nowadays.
Nuclear war is not really an option for reasons all of us have known all too well all our lives. Certainly a Last Resort only, but then the boomerang effect would be hell.
The poem is supposed to be an example of black humor -- gallows humor -- satire, but it does make the point -- I hope -- that dead is dead no matter how you get there.
Yes, dead is dead. Yet, many seem to make the method more important than the result.
ReplyDeleteA bomb is just another kind of chemical weapon.
ReplyDeleteYes, dead is dead.
ReplyDeleteThat people express outrage according to the means has never made any sense to me.
The last stanza speaks to how askew the world's moral compass has become.
I'm glad that I'm as old as I am!
Wasn't it FDR who said that there are 'no accidents in history'?
ReplyDeleteHe should know. Therefore speaking of half-assed efforts in war may have been no accident, but rather a deliberate attempt to undermine the moral authority that should have been in the hands of America, if the country had remained true to its founding ideals.
The enemies from within have seized power generations ago with the ultimate goal of dragging the once shining example of a free country to the dustbin of history, I believe.
Waylon, when was this country a shining example of freedom?
ReplyDeleteManifest destiny and the native American genocide
Slavery
The robber barons
The great depression
McCarthyism
The publication of Atlas Shrugged
... let us know
Your opinion stands in stark contrast to those that risked their lives, fortunes and honour to establish the United States of America, Ducky. But then its founding occurred before the advent of your hero Karl Marx, and the contribution of his hate filled sewage to the inflamed minds of his followers.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how you relate McCarthyism and slavery, but including them on the same list is warped thinking, no? McCarthy sought to expose the inroads that communism had made into the life, thought and politics of the country. Communism itself is the ultimate form of slavery, as any half-witted comrade, such as yourself, should know, Ducky.
Are implying that Atlas Shrugged wasn't wasn't written to expose the ideas, philosophy and policies of the first half of the 20th Century leading to the current expanding statist malaise? You must have read a Marxist interpretation of the book.
Mr FreeThinke, sir,
ReplyDeletePlease check your spam folder. I left a poetical missive to Ducky.
Critical Theory - aka "The NEW McCarthyism"
ReplyDeleteThe publication of Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States"
The Obama Depression
The passing of Obamacare and the stealing of 1/8th of the American economy without a single Republican vote...
Nope, "freedom" is NOT the direction in which America is now headed. "Progress" is evidently, a "totalitarian".
Canardo is a proud, unapologetic Marxist who nevertheless refuses to own up to the title.
ReplyDeleteCall him a Zinnian if you like.
The Left's abominable penchant for looking longingly, zealously and EXCLUSIVELY on the Dark Side is the reason why "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder."
Marxists today are still Master of Deception. The remarkable thing about it, however, is their infinite capacity to deceive THEMSELVES.
They truly BELIEVE their foul-minded worldview to be the whole truth.
btw - NOTHING shouts freedom like the emergence of a new "class" of Robber Barons.... unless, of course, they all appear to "ring" the nation's capital instead of emerging from regional power centers.
ReplyDeleteDuck,
ReplyDeleteSome of the robber barons did "give back," however. Historic Williamburg is but one example. You know more examples, I'm sure.
Is America a shining example of freedom? Compared to many other countries, yes.
I await your response as to at least one example of a nation that is a shining example of freedom.
I await your response as to at least one example of a nation that is a shining example of freedom.
ReplyDelete----
AOW, waiting for Ducky when he's called out and all that we hear are crickets chirping.
Not one thing said about GOYA and the Death's Head?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are part of the presentation, you know -- not merely extraneous "decoration."
Sometimes we spend more time searching for suitable illustrations than we do in actual writing.
Robber Barons had nothing whatsoever to do with my purpose in presenting this bit of verse, although if by NEW CLASS of Robber Barons you mean The Oiigarachs (Soros, the 83-year-old, cradle-robbing Bridegroom, is one of them, of course) then the remark makes sense, because of course THEY design and implement the policies that now threaten to ruin OUR country and OUR lives.
