I’m know that you as well as the folks that come here are as SICK and TIRED of hearing and reading this crap from these Leftist idiots as I am, these cowards just can’t seem to stay away from Republican-Conservative blogs. They say that good triumphs over evil, however there will be a lot of evil done by this Presidency before good prevails. Everyday I must turn to conservative talk radio and my conservative blogging brothers and sisters to get the straight scoop otherwise, I would not get to hear it or see in in print. But beleive me it is getting harder and harder to take. Ever since day one when Obama was elected and Rush Limbaugh stated that he wanted Obama’s policies to fail he has been attacked by the mainstream press, leftist bloggers, and other entities such as MoveOn.org – for saying that the famous libe “I want Obama to fail” . It has been portrayed as an un-American sentiment by those great patriots on the Left. I actually agree with Limbaugh wholeheartedly. I also want Obama to fail, abjectly, miserably, and completely. I may even pray for it.Anyone on the Left who takes issue with this is either ignorant, stupid, or a liar and probably a hypocrite as well. I will explain. To say it's always unpatriotic to hope for the failure of your leader is illogical. It presupposes that a leader's success is synonymous with his nation's success, but this simply cannot be true in all cases. After all, different leaders have different ideologies, and ideologies run the spectrum from the sublime to the ridiculous, from the ethereal to the evil. Thus, in the cases of leaders with fatally flawed ideologies, their nations' success may rest on their failure am an American. I Am A Bad American, I believe in God.I ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles and believe in American products.I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way! I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer,it makes you a smart American. I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it! I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and Ronald Reagan.I don't hate the rich, and I don't pity the poor. And I would rather be Rich than poor any day! I know wrestling is fake, but I like it anyway. and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.I've never owned a slave, nor did my Father or his Father! I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! Shut up already. I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! If you were born here and don't like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you. I want to know exactly at which church the Reverend Jesse Jackson, or Al Sarpton preaches, and where they gets their money, and why they always part of the problem and not the solution. I think the police have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license,in fact I think it's good. I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money.I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. Get a Job and do your part! I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents, and Man and a Women. There I said it! Sue me! I believe illegal is illegal no matter what the lawyers or the "Progressives" think. I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA! If you are so proud of your old country, feel free to return (and take that flag with you). If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American. I'm just stating the obvious.. Would we have called a German who wished for Hitler's failure in 1934 unwise and unpatriotic? What about Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot, Idi Amin and Saddam Hussein? Would it have been wrong to curse them with failure? On the contrary, even wishing that God would promptly liberate such people from the bounds of this material fold would be quite justifiable. What I have just explained isn't really that hard to figure out. And this is the reason why I said that those on the Left who seize upon Limbaugh's comment are either just playing political games or are supremely ignorant. And now we come to the reason why they also may be hypocrites. I am a Conservative Republican and because of that the lefties will tell you that I have severe mental issues, and that I’m a racist. The Left absolutely hated George W. Bush. Their contempt for him was so profound and palpable that it was even given a name by psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer: Bush Derangement Syndrome. Now, most of the millions of leftists who despised the ex-president absolutely wanted him to fail; in fact, while they're loath to admit it, they felt this way even when his success was synonymous with our nation's (this even included the failure of the Iraq war). And "felt" is the operative word; they were governed by emotion and hated the man with a burning passion.
Thus, they were more than miserably happy to wish for a descending tide that lowered all boats if it meant the U.S.S. George W. Bush would be sunk. Oh, by the way, you leftists don't have to bother denying it. You're not nearly as sophisticated as you imagine and you're really not that hard to read. The screeching, vicious lies, dripping venom, borne fangs and apoplexy sort of gave you away. Besides, a few of the more honest leftists would even admit that they wanted Bush to fail. In fact, I seem to recall one man in particular (I don't remember his name but he was a guest on the O'Reilly Factor) who even confessed that he wanted the Iraq war to go south. And his reasoning was exactly what I had propounded earlier. That is, he claimed to believe that Bush's policies were so toxic that a greater good would be served by their failure. I was adamantly opposed to his ideology, of course; however, I did understand the principle in question. It is in no way moral to wish the president success in the pursuit of a policy that we know is damaging to the nation. I believe that life begins at conception and the taking of an innocent life is not a religious issue, it is a moral issue. I believe in the separation of Church and State, but not the absence of God from the public place. I believe that America is the land of equal opportunity, but not the land of equal results. I believe that what is mine is mine, not something to be confiscated and spread around for all to share. This brings me back to President Obama . To all the idiots out there who voted for Obama, it doesn't matter how secretive he is, 'cause he can do no wrong... Change we can all believe in. From nationalizing banks and businesses, from having Henry Waxman hold talks with the FCC to regulate not only talk radio content, but internet content as well, to the Census being a controlled part of the White House. How long will it be before they start sending out the police and military to confiscate your firearms. You laugh now, but the above mentioned two are actually happening as we speak. So the government will control your money, they will control what you get to hear and read, and you will eventually have no way to defend yourself against them. Somehow, I think history is repeating itself. Question is, are you just going to sit there and take it? We are not children who are to just play "follow the leader" unquestioningly. We must first ascertain where the leader is leading. Is it toward the promised land or into an abyss? I know Obama to be a hard-core leftist – and perhaps a neo-Marxist. I know that his agenda could drive the last nail into America's coffin and that it is a blow against all that is great and good. Thus, if I wished him success, it could only mean I hated my country, my fellow man, and God himself. Do I want Obama to fail? YES, Do I want America to fail? OF COURSE NOT. Perhaps that's why I want Obama to fail. I despise any American citizen who voted for this weasel. If you lefties are not beginning to question your choice in voting for the Hopey Changy One,then my only guess is that either 1) you WANT to be the Socialist States Of Amerika, 2) you could not care less about what he said on the campaign trail, as long as Bush and the evil R-People were booted to the curb, 3) you could not care less about what he said as long as a black man got elected, or 4) you really are as stupid as I think.
I proudly served America as did so many other of you folks that may be reading this blog.. And I am not only scared, but I am saddened at what is happening to our great country. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and Ronald Reagan. I don't hate the rich, and I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it. I've never owned a slave, nor did my Father or his Father! Are Socialism, Marxism, and their big brother Progressivism,, an effective means of organizing society and creating prosperity and happiness? NO, but this has been a well-known fact for decades. There are NO known successes in any known socialist countries, ONLY FAILURES. Further, there has been somewhere between 100-200 million of humans were needlessly slaughtered in communist countries. Here is an expose’ of four of the most notable communist regimes of the last 50 years. A. USSR, B. China, C. Vietnam, D. Cuba,
In Conclusion
The main reason socialism fails as an economic theory is it does not account for price of commodities, and therefore cannot adequately ration any finite good. Further, socialism fails on a psychological level because it treats human motivation as a perverse fiction, irrelevant for producers, and therefore ignored. Finally, it fails as a political theory because it cannot value humans as being any different than machines. You can measure the patriotism of a citizen, not by how much, or how loud they shout in support of their country, but rather by how they SERVE their country! For example: The bailout of GM and Chrysler was mainly to protect Obama’s union supporters. I think Obama feels that government owning a major interest in large industry is not a bad thing. Forcing banks to accept funds is a move in the same direction. Attempting to shut out the press and suggesting a media bailout (newspapers) is another government attempt to control our lives. Then there is that radio legislation and internet thing, (forgot what they call them) to many beers maybe, and ya, when you add all this up, I would think that even a flaming liberal could see the writing on the wall.
Then you've got all those appointments and czars with all their problems. I don't know who was vetting these people for him, but if he worked for me I would have fired him a long time ago. Since it keeps happening, over and over, then Obama must believe that his choices are correct and that the public will accept them also. I think he is a poor manager and I think he's naive. "Judge me by the people with whom I surround myself."
Wehrwolfen, you sound like a big supporter of Hayek's "Road to Serfdom". Some far right wingers like Silverfiddle even think it is an economics text. No, it isn't.
In fact, Hayek's economic theories were in tatters and had been adopted by Heinrich Brüning which great;y accelerated the fall of Weimar Germany (and we know what happened next).
So in an attempt to resurrect himself e comes up with he Road to Serfdom and the theory that all dictatorship comes from even the smallest government intervention in the economy. Of course if you look at the two great dictatorships of the time, Germany and Russia, neither came to power as a result of command economies. So Hayek has some problems right off.
Milton Friedman tried to make his theories more palatable as monetarism (which Silverfiddle completely disdains) but that has been discredited.
So the answer is not at the extremes and a dose of Keynesian and the social welfare state are far from failures.
Remember, the left is here to help you live the life of the mind.
Obviously, YOU of all people should know, that if it “Walks like a Duck”, or Smells like a Commie, then for all intents and purposes, it IS a "Duck" or a “Commie”.
A bed-wetting Obama apologist spouting leftwing propaganda is hardly a takedown, but whatever makes you feel better in your Obamabubble land of unicorns and rainbows...
The Obama regime is proud of you, comrade. You parrot the propaganda well. Keep up the good work
FreeThinke: It is brilliant on your part to insert comic panels in between serious comments!
Brilliant indeed, and the fact that both Ducky and Shaw don't like it proves the point that it is Brilliant.
Shaw said: "FT, you blog is beginning to resemble a wall of graffiti". Now ain't that the Pot calling the Kettle black! The truth is that Shaw's Blog has the nastiest attacks on Republicans ever seen on a blog. In fact she sounds like a braying donkey to me. It's pitiful how these Progressives can LIE so much. She kisses Obama's Ass so much that he lips must be getting chapped.
"I assume you had the bilious Beantown Quacker in mind when you wrote this?
Sorry to disappoint you, SF, but not really -- sometimes, perhaps, but not primarily and certainly not exclusively. I've had a few reasonably pleasant and informative exchanges with Ducky every now and then. I may think him "wrong-headed," but he's certainly not a personal enemy.
Also, I have respect and personal affection for at least one other ideological opponent who shall at this time reman nameless, but I'm sure you know who I mean.
NO, todays Grand Gesture ;-) was inspired by a spate of essentially mindless, virulent, HATE POSTS -- most of them pre-fabricated "boilerplate" - leftist propaganda ejected like so much projectile vomit on these pages -- by anonymous posters who either gave no name at all, or presented themselves in an untraceable fashion with several fanciful appellations.
I eradicated much of this gratuitous bilge, because it didn't even bother to make pretense at being related to the topic at hand.
Then, I decided to save a few examples, because it shows the twisted mindset, irrationality and essentially spiteful nature of what-I-have-come-to -know-through-long-experience as the Mentality of Rank and File Leftists.
It's far better that I let them expose themselves for what they are, than to make accusations requiring "documented proof." In this way they convict themselves in their very own words.
Leftists would love to kill the First Amendment -- at least as it applies to those who oppose them -- but they love it when it enables them to spout scurrilous remarks and distorted use of selected "facts," and all the disquieting, seditious, disruptive, counter-productive, essentially treasonous products of their incessant muck raking.
The left needs to acknowledge its passionate belief that rudeness, disputatiousness, dissent and an assumed prosecutorial manner should be permitted to go in one direction only -- from LEFT to RIGHT.
Inanity appears from all sources not just the left as several of these "contributions" show, FT, but I have to say the left wins hands down for bad temper and having no sense of humor.
Thank you for your gracious remarks, FT. I would welcome the opportunity for less combative discussion but your graphic gives a pretty good indication of the respect given anyone on the left at right wing blogs.
I do need to use Silverfiddle as an example to make a useful point. I gave a brief, factual, non ad hominem response to some statements on a thread doing that crazy Benghazi boogie-woogie. Was there any attempt at a civil response? Nope, just the usual accusations of being in the tank for Obama (even though I am quite disgusted by his corporatism). The right wing world can't handle opposition. To bad, he's an intelligent guy and I don't know where his intense hatred for Obama originates since he doesn't seem to at all be part of the racial choir.
Then I get the usual bit about being an adherent of the theories of Marx which disqualifies me from discussing Hayek on the merits, something Silverfiddle avoids.
1. Yes, I do acceept Marx's critique of raw Kapitalism and believe we are at this moment in one of Kapital's cancerous stages. A stage which the social welfare state and many of those calling for more of the same are, unfortunately, going to be burned the worst if they don't wise up.
2. Marx was a far more accurate political economist than Hayek and history bears it out. Please note: I am referring to Marx the political economist and not Marx the failed revolutionary.
3. The right wing mind is so tightly welded shut that any criticism of Hayek causes severe tension headaches. I apologize but you folks really need to get out more.
History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce. --- Karl Marx
You allege I hate Obama, yet proffer no proof. Typical progressive demagogue.
Glad to see you hedge your statements on Marx and confine them to his political philosophy, because his economic "theories" have been totally discredited by reality.
@ "Thank you for your gracious remarks, FT. I would welcome the opportunity for less combative discussion..."
Bull! You are a bile-filled pus sack, and your boo-hooing over the tenor of a blog thread is like a serial arsonist lamenting how many buildings have burned.
You're a poisonous toad, and you get what you give. You should be old enough to realize that by now.
And if the DNC isn't paying you, They are cheating you.
It's the pronounced DOUBLE STANDARD I object to, Ducky.
If you and Ms. Shaw -- and others a bit too eager to condemn - had read my remarks more carefully, you would know that today's "Grand Gesture" ;-) was aimed at a particular segment-- or possibly an entire class, -- of posters who do nothing but spew childish insults, and brainless, foul-mouthed invective.
We've been besieged by a flood of that kind of stuff here lately -- most of which I removed, -- not because I am "intolerant of opposition," but because I see nothing to be gained from the littering of this place with ugly, stupid catcalls, and incendiary remarks irrelevant to whatever article was posted.
Being profoundly unsympathetic to a point of view is not tantamount to out-and-out intolerance.
I respect your right to be wrong, but leftists in general rarely-if-ever respect my right to be right. ;-)
Sometimes it amuses, mostly it rankles, I have to admit.
As I've said so many times, Left and Right are mirror images of one another. Each regards the other as "the evil twin" who should ever have been born.
It would be comical if endless variations of this "Great Divide" had not produced megadeath and tyranny all over the world.
Foot soldiers in the "ignorant armies that clash by night" is, indeed what most human beings are.
My unsolicited advice to EVERYONE is that we need to cultivate more PATIENCE and more CURIOSITY about one another, jump to conclusions a lot less, and quit being so ACCUSATORY.
Better check the facts again, boy. The biggest economic influence on the Weimar Republic was none other than that Harvard hero, John Maynard Keynes.
----- Wrong.
Let me help you get up to speed and I know it's tough to take since I'm a liberal and we don't "know history" but Sweden was the post depression nation which practiced pure Keynesian economics and was the first to recover.
Brüning as German finance minister followed the Austrians and practiced austerity. Sweden got recovery, Germany got Hitler. You're not even wrong.
Remember, the left is always here to help you live the life of the mind.
Expedient policies may provide temporary relief, but never get to the root of the problems they purport to fix. Ergo, whatever salubrious effects expediency produces are apt to be short-lived.
My dear, Ms Shaw, I should think you, as a self-identified progressive, would be delighted with a display of graffiti.
It was recognized by the avant garde in New York as "A Vibrant New Form of Folk Art" more than forty years ago. ;-)
"If you can't beat 'em,praise 'em," might have been the rationale behind that. I've never been sure.
"Uncouth Utterances of the People" usually do possess a spark of vitality and originality rarely experienced by jaded, over-educated, urban sophisticates. I'm sure that explains the well-known Lure of the Jungle.
We envy the natural world as much or more than we fear and despise it. We are after all a dichotomous lot, aren't we?
I tend to work on sudden spurts of inspiration. I ran across the image, and it suggested today's outlandish post.
I do love to dangle bait in the water, and see who tales it and how they handle it.
Rarely is it necessary to chide anyone. As you suggest, rude remarks speak very clearly for themselves and most often reflect poorly on those who offer them.
I don't mind honest criticism, but sheer nastiness is -- well ... lets just call it undesirable, shall we?
Well Ducky if you Google "Weimar Republic + John Maynard Keynes", you should be able to get yourself started on the road to truth, if you are interested. The "financial crisis" of the Weimar Republic was a full-blown inflationary Keynsianism. The first pure example of the results of his phony "economic theories" which were all about advancing the global plans of Fabianism, of which he was a star member.
Yes, Ducky, Keynes was educated in England. So why did he become a worshiped god of economics at Harvard?
Here's a link discussing Political Economics and the Weimar Disaster from Rockefeller U, which should be reasonable to a progressive communoid, such as yourself...
Useful article, Waylon. I skimmed it but I'll probably read parts more thoroughly. It does show Keynes in at least partial opposition to the size of German reparations which are considered by about everyone but Niall Ferguson as a cause of the hyperinflation. But did you see this quote early in the paper -- " The follies of monetary contraction and budget surpluses in a period of high unemployment are now understood far better than in 1929, thanks to the work of macroeconomic theorists, beginning most prominently with John Maynard Keynes ".
In other words the article agrees that Hayek's stupidity exasperated the economic contraction and they should have listened to Keynes. Did you read the article? I doubt it.
Karl Marx was above all else an economist, he would have no doubt admired Our Capitalist Henry Ford. In fact Marx believed capitalism was a major improvement over prior economic systems. Where he went astray was when he got into the utopian concepts and the state run economy. Soviet Russia and Communist China were most ASSUREDLY NOT what Marx had in mind for his communist society. Marx on fact despised totalitarian iron fist rule.
I'm not a Marxist by any means. Just setting the record a bit straighter. The Oligarchs and the Banksters had it I'm their interests to misrepresent Marx amd create the great bogeyman.
SF, I believe I'm correct when I say no nation state has ever practiced Communism as envisioned by Marx. Therefore Communism fully practiced as Marx envisioned it has really never been proven or disproven in fact.
There is something about excess labor capacity and all that but I've forgotten much. Seems we may be confronting the excess labor situation presently, hence we may very well be looking at the new normal in our unemployment numbers.
FT, My unsolicited advice to EVERYONE is that we need to cultivate more PATIENCE and more CURIOSITY about one another, jump to conclusions a lot less, and quit being so ACCUSATORY.
As you may have noticed, I've been spending less time in the blogosphere. The rancor isn't good for my health.
I want to be informed. However, I do not want to berated and engage is so many circular discussions.
I'm also reading more fiction too.
In other words, I've been getting some fresh air.
Now, I won't quit blogging. But I won't respond to every comment, either.
I hope that you will keep doing what you have been doing: trying to set a different tone via your blogging efforts.
No. Karl Marx was above all else a social scientist, and a good one at that. His econcomic theories suck. Go google "Labor Theory of Value." It's feel-good balderdash that has not survived contact with reality.
@ Ducky: "In other words the article agrees that Hayek's stupidity exasperated the economic contraction and they should have listened to Keynes."
The stupidity is yours, Ducky.
Hayek had nothing to do with the Weimar republic, he was barely starting his academic career, and there were many other factors going on, but you know that already.
You are more interested in guarding your failed ideologies than seeking the truth.
Keynes and Hayek actually agreed on much. And one other thing to remember is that Keynes was not a big spender and not necessarily a fan of your big government progressive theories. He would shudder at the debt we've racked up.
Also, you dip superficiallly into monetary policy, and it is obvious you are in over your head. Weimar Republic? Remember what happened to their money?
You do a good job drawing stick figure cartoons when in-depth analysis is what is called for.
You are doctrinaire leftwing statist uninterested in the truth, and you are willfully intellectually dishonest. You are not to be taken seriously as a sincere interlocutor.
At least now you know that John Maynard Keynes had his slippery slimy grubby mitts all over the economic "reconstruction" of the Weimar Republic.
Next question on the program: Was Germany really more to blame than England for the start of WWI? And why was the absolute destruction of the German economy required after both WWI?
No. Karl Marx was above all else a social scientist, and a good one at that. His econcomic theories suck. Go google "Labor Theory of Value." It's feel-good balderdash that has not survived contact with reality."
Nope SF, You are incorrect and you statement is boilerplate response.
Look at Marx with your own eyes and grow to understand that Marx was not what many believe without ever studying the man, his life, his work, and his times.
Do I agree with the utopian vision and social engineering he strayed off int. No I don't. I'm a Rand advocate. However, there comes a time to stop misrepresenting individuals based on prior misconceptions and partial truths.
Well, it's getting late (in more ways than one) and perhaps someday somebody will look at our history and derive a nice chuckle.
Next question on the program: Was Germany really more to blame than England for the start of WWI? And why was the absolute destruction of the German economy required after both WWI? ----------- First of all, Waylon, the article distinctly states that Keynes opposed the heavy reparations forced on Germany and also opposed the austerity budget of Weimar. How you manage to use that article to show his support is simply astonishing.
As for the question of the economic causes of WW I, Karl Polyani - The Great Transformation. A basic familiarity is needed to even carry on a conversation. Really does a number on the gold standards so Randoids beware.
Marx was one of Satan's most effective representatives on earth.
That's all ye mortals can know, and all ye heed to now.
It's a complete waste of time and misdirected energy to attempt to be "fair" to proven Enemies of Christ and of Western Christian Civilization. PERIOD!
Ducky, I used that article because it was from Rockefeller U and you originally said that Hayek was the economist of record involved with the reconstructive economics of Germany influencing the Weimar Republic. I didn't think you'd disagree with the source even if it proved you were completely up your ass in your original post ...
Even though this item may say Keynes wasn't a big factor in the system imposed on the Weimar Republic a little common sense would show that it was nothing but Keynsianism that produced the hyper-inflation, and if common sense doesn't rock your boat you can find plenty of others that know how Keysianism worked there and in today's world as well.
What if World war I was planned even before the first shot was fired and Archduke Ferdinand assassinated? What if England saw that the sun may soon set on the empire on which the sun never set? Say they saw that Germany was becoming an industrial power that appeared to be a challenge to their previously unchallenged position industrially and on the seas? And if England was heading toward bankruptcy before the war it was deeply in debt after the war. And Germany had the upper hand in the war until signed on to get America into the war, "as long as it didn't end too soon".
Really does a number on the gold standards so Randoids beware.
Ducky are you saying that gold isn't and shouldn't be used in economics and trade? At one time it was used as trade between individuals and backed currency which was "as good as gold". Even today central banks buy gold and use it to settle accounts between themselves and between states. It's mostly because of the progressive thinking of the communoid regressives such as Maynard Keynes and his ideological progeny that fiat currency must be used ... and you don't need to be too precocious to see what is happening with that today.
IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING, YOU DON'T BELONG HERE, SO KINDLY GET OUT AND STAY OUT.

ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, you leftists don't have to bother denying it.

FT,
ReplyDeleteSynchronicity!
Today, I posted something along similar lines -- my post an video "allegory" related to rancor in the blogosphere.
I assume you had the bilious Beantown Quacker in mind when you wrote this?
ReplyDeleteHe's upset that you got taken down over Benghazi, Silverfiddle.
ReplyDeleteAre Socialism, Marxism, and their big brother Progressivism,, an effective means of organizing society and creating prosperity and happiness? NO, but this has been a well-known fact for decades. There are NO known successes in any known socialist countries, ONLY FAILURES. Further, there has been somewhere between 100-200 million of humans were needlessly slaughtered in communist countries. Here is an expose’ of four of the most notable communist regimes of the last 50 years.
ReplyDeleteA. USSR, B. China, C. Vietnam, D. Cuba,
In Conclusion
ReplyDeleteSome far right wingers like Silverfiddle even think it is an economics text.
ReplyDeleteNotice the reasoned response, folks.
ReplyDeleteMy response to YOU and all others like you is pictured in the SALUTE on the front page of Free Thinke’s Blog roday!
ReplyDeleteOh dear.
ReplyDeleteGiving people the finger now, are we, as a way of expressing your frustration?
Pity.
FT, you blog is beginning to resemble a wall of graffiti.
We liberals don't mind the fact that conservatism exists.
The fact that it does exist is what gave us President Obama, not once, but twice.
Taken down?
ReplyDeleteA bed-wetting Obama apologist spouting leftwing propaganda is hardly a takedown, but whatever makes you feel better in your Obamabubble land of unicorns and rainbows...
The Obama regime is proud of you, comrade. You parrot the propaganda well. Keep up the good work
It's a total belly-laugh to hear Hayek criticized by an adherent of the totally discredited "economic" theories of Marx...
ReplyDeleteFreeThinke: It is brilliant on your part to insert comic panels in between serious comments!
@ Shaw: "The fact that it does exist is what gave us President Obama, not once, but twice."
ReplyDeleteSo true. Every paranoid, incoherent movement need an "other."
Silverfiddle said...
ReplyDeleteFreeThinke: It is brilliant on your part to insert comic panels in between serious comments!
ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you, SF, but not really -- sometimes, perhaps, but not primarily and certainly not exclusively.
Are you saying that its not that POS that we thought it was? Hummm. I thought it definitely was HER.
ReplyDeletethe duck is not Shaw
ReplyDeletePOS=
ReplyDelete(1) a worse than worthless object or person; an object or person that holds no value or redeeming qualities whatsoever
(2) a stupid, low-life, self-righteous human being who makes life a living hell for themselves and others.
(3) s progressive/liberal/Obama loving democrat.
Inanity appears from all sources not just the left as several of these "contributions" show, FT, but I have to say the left wins hands down for bad temper and having no sense of humor.
ReplyDelete----------> Katharine Heartburn
Thank you for your gracious remarks, FT. I would welcome the opportunity for less combative discussion but your graphic gives a pretty good indication of the respect given anyone on the left at right wing blogs.
ReplyDeleteI do need to use Silverfiddle as an example to make a useful point.
Ducky:
ReplyDeleteYou are malodorous.
ReplyDeleteIf you and Ms.
FOR the RECORD:
ReplyDeleteI don't appreciate "BOILERPLATE" remarks, even when I may sympathize with much of what they have say.
We may need all the friends we can get, but we do not need a lot of CANNED rhetoric not directly related to The Post of the Day.
Please try to respect this policy in the future.
Thanks.

ReplyDeleteHayek economics followed and the Weimar Republic?
Better check the facts again, boy. The biggest economic influence on the Weimar Republic was none other than that Harvard hero, John Maynard Keynes.
FT,
ReplyDeleteIf someone insults you and tries to deny that they insulted you, then just directly quote what they wrote.
If that doesn't work, then condescend to them and they'll stop visiting eventually.
I'm civil to those who are civil to me, and I call people out who are rude.
Besides, Jesus told you to turn the other cheek didn't he?

Love the featured image =)

Wrong.
Sorry, Mr. Lovejoy, but your unnecessarily rude remarks are out of order here.
ReplyDeleteIf you can post without name-calling and using foul language gratuitously and indiscriminately, you'll be welcome here. Please stop by again.
Venting our spleens may be appropriate-- even necessary -- from time to time, but please try to do it without resorting to the language of the gutter.
Vulgarity may be appropriate, but only on rare occasions, and even then is best used with great restraint in a satirical or humorous context.
Thanks.
Expedient policies may provide temporary relief, but never get to the root of the problems they purport to fix. Ergo, whatever salubrious effects expediency produces are apt to be short-lived.
ReplyDeleteYou may quote me ;-)
Oh Waylon, Keynes was British and attended Kings College, Cambridge.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, Ms Shaw, I should think you, as a self-identified progressive, would be delighted with a display of graffiti.
ReplyDeleteIt was recognized by the avant garde in New York as "A Vibrant New Form of Folk Art" more than forty years ago.
FT, you were out in front of the hip-hop curve? I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support, Jack.
ReplyDeleteI tend to work on sudden spurts of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYes, Ducky, Keynes was educated in England. So why did he become a worshiped god of economics at Harvard?
Here's a link discussing Political Economics and the Weimar Disaster from Rockefeller U, which should be reasonable to a progressive communoid, such as yourself...
http://home.uchicago.edu/rmyerson/research/weimar.pdf
Useful article, Waylon. I skimmed it but I'll probably read parts more thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteIt does show Keynes in at least partial opposition to the size of German reparations which are considered by about everyone but Niall Ferguson as a cause of the hyperinflation.
But did you see this quote early in the paper -- " The follies of
monetary contraction and budget surpluses in a period of high unemployment are now
understood far better than in 1929, thanks to the work of macroeconomic theorists, beginning
most prominently with John Maynard Keynes ".
In other words the article agrees that Hayek's stupidity exasperated the economic contraction and they should have listened to Keynes.
Did you read the article? I doubt it.
You're boxing outside your weight again.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Marxist by any means.
FT,
ReplyDeleteMy unsolicited advice to EVERYONE is that we need to cultivate more PATIENCE and more CURIOSITY about one another, jump to conclusions a lot less, and quit being so ACCUSATORY.
"Karl Marx was above all else an economist"
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteThe stupidity is yours, Ducky.
Glad to contribute to your enlightenment, Ducky.
ReplyDeleteAt least now you know that John Maynard Keynes had his slippery slimy grubby mitts all over the economic "reconstruction" of the Weimar Republic.
Next question on the program: Was Germany really more to blame than England for the start of WWI? And why was the absolute destruction of the German economy required after both WWI?
'Tis often said, "No one can stop an idea whose time has come."
ReplyDeleteAnd AIN'T IT A SHAME?

ReplyDelete-----------
First of all, Waylon, the article distinctly states that Keynes opposed the heavy reparations forced on Germany and also opposed the austerity budget of Weimar. How you manage to use that article to show his support is simply astonishing.
As for the question of the economic causes of WW I, Karl Polyani - The Great Transformation. A basic familiarity is needed to even carry on a conversation. Really does a number on the gold standards so Randoids beware.
RN: I understand that you are trying to position yourself as the David Frumm of Right Blogistan, but please read what I have written.
ReplyDeleteI am not incorrect about the Labor Theory of Value. It goes agains how markets have worked for all of recorded history.
Marx was also wrong about class and economic determinism.
I say these things not because he is Karl Marx or because I'm trying to trash him. I say them because they are true.
Disagree? Then point out where I am wrong.
Marx was one of Satan's most effective representatives on earth.
ReplyDeleteThat's all ye mortals can know, and all ye heed to now.
ReplyDeleteEven though this item may say Keynes wasn't a big factor in the system imposed on the Weimar Republic a little common sense would show that it was nothing but Keynsianism that produced the hyper-inflation, and if common sense doesn't rock your boat you can find plenty of others that know how Keysianism worked there and in today's world as well.
ReplyDeleteDucky are you saying that gold isn't and shouldn't be used in economics and trade? At one time it was used as trade between individuals and backed currency which was "as good as gold". Even today central banks buy gold and use it to settle accounts between themselves and between states. It's mostly because of the progressive thinking of the communoid regressives such as Maynard Keynes and his ideological progeny that fiat currency must be used ... and you don't need to be too precocious to see what is happening with that today.
