Hopefully, liberty-loving liberals do support the founder's right to state his opinion without facing government punishment, but nah... probably not...
The utter triviality of things that inflame liberals' ire and capture the public's attention never ceases to amaze me, SilverFiddle.
Of course that is the liberals' stock-in-trade -- to find fault and to simulate moral indignation over anything and everything they can glom onto in their search for ways to achieve absolute power.
If it weren't for their penchant for going into high dudgeon at the slightest provocation -- or no provocation at all -- these people would very likely be devoid of emotional life.
Yesterday Mrs. AOW went to Chick Fil A and brought home a peach milkshake for me. What a treat! i recommend that milkshake - a summer specialty.
She said that the place was packed and that everybody was polite and patient. Also, she mentioned how diverse the people buying food were. People of all races and accents!
Chick Fil A has good handicapped access, she says. Maybe we can go there once in a while and support freedom more. I DO like their food, mainly because Mrs. AOW never fixes fried food at home.
Mrs. AOW is a very smart lady -- but I don't need to tell that to you, Mr. AOW, I'm sure. ;-)
Our Ducky likes to THINK he smart, but he misses the point of LIVING most of the time, poor thing!
Liberals always do. They spend most of their time finding fault and feigning anger at every thing they think is lacking, but never seem to recognize what is good, or feel or any satisfaction with the many wonders and delights that surround us even in the worst circumstances.
The anti-Joy approach to life is, indeed a mental disorder.
Liberalism is like a MIGRAINE HEADACHE that NEVER GOES AWAY.
I'd love to have one of those peach milkshakes. Sounds great.
Liberals would stand in line for Obama if they knew he was going to hand feed them chicken. And before he feeds them he will say "Body of Me" and they all say "Amen"
What really set me up for the short line yesterday was the tutoring session that preceded my trip to Chick-Fil-A. I'd have gone a bit earlier and likely have been stuck in waiting a longer line.
Lisa "body of me"..perfect...totally blasphemous (smile) but HILARIOUS...you come up with such good sayings, girl!
Ducky's here said... Tell me you can find a liberal stupid enough to stand in line for an hour for a mediocre sandwich."
DUcky, find a liberal protest where people are standing in line and not creating filth all around them and nobody gets hurt or has sex or defecates in public....
I heard that hundreds and hundreds of people were at all Chick-fil-A's. Tomorrow is the KISS IN, where LGBT folks will be kissing in front of Chick-Fil-A's. That ought to be a sight. and effective, too :-) (not!)
That was great link. Sorry I'm a little slow on the uptake these days. What liberals -- who always want to MEDDLE in other peoples' lives, because their mentally disturbed liberal souls always imagine THEY know what's BEST for everyone ELSE -- never seem to realize is that poor people often enjoy life as much -- or more -- than anyone else, and that quite often rich people are MISERABLE.
I do disagree with the section on MERITOCRACY, because in earlier times many wt GREAT ability and ambition were DENIED the opportunity to advance because of prejudice and vicious bullying on the part of established power blocs.
That HAD to change.
But in the main everyone does much better when they sort things out for themselves -- either sink or swim on their own, because no one can carry someone else's dead weight through the currents of life's ocean.
"Tell me you can find a liberal stupid enough to stand in line for an hour for a mediocre sandwich."
No, but you can find plenty of them parking their carcasses in places where they are not welcome making a bloody nuisance of themselves acting as deterrents to the progress of legitimate business for days -- sometimes weeks -- even months -- on end to express their anger and dissatisfaction about the latest cause du Jour.
Thats what liberals do -- they whine, bitch, accuse, excoriate, lampoon, deride, punish and deprive.
And they feel RIGHTEOUS about it!
You'll never find them digging ditches, laying bricks, paving roads, shingling roofs, building bridges, scrubbing floors, changing diapers, picking apples, washing windows, beating rugs -- or teaching anyone about the value of patience, thrift, ingenuity, integrity, self-discipline and cheerful self-sacrifice.
FT..thanks for the response. I can't TELL you how many times I've just readied a post, set the time for midnight and get an email from someone, or image, that exactly suits the post and then I add it. I know what you mean.
This particularly happens on my Sunday Faith Blog...I swear, there have been things sent that SO dovetailed what I'd prepared that sometimes it nearly scares the wits out of me "How did THAT happen!?"
I haven't listened to the news all day -- I usually feel much better when I don't. ;-)
So, I wonder what impact the "Kiss In" had, if any?
My feelings about such inane carryings on is that they probably give decent gay people (a considerable majority, I believe) a bad name, and that those gays, who choose to live quietly, must seriously resent this unwanted, unwarranted attention that comes from the antics of a strident, flamboyant, anti-social minority.
Z, I have a glib answer for you, but I think it's probably quite true:
"All things work together for good to those who love God."
I don't know who said that first, but I've heard it often all through my life, and I believe it's true.
Another thought from similar sources I've found very helpful is "Everything that happens -- no matter how undesirable it may seem at the time -- will eventually bless you, if you love God" (Truth and Love).
It may take more time than we'd like, but healing and redemption CAN and DO take place, and improvement really IS possible at ANY age.
Succumbing to despair means we're acting in service to the devil. -- Or so I have come to believe.

They are IRAHOLICS (i.e. addicted to rage).
How's that for a potentially trendy neologism?

Duck,
ReplyDeleteMrs. AOW stood in line for less than 10 minutes. Of course she did go at an off time.

haha so it goes

Well, I'm reasonably intelligent.

Z, the "sign" came to m through email. A lot of stuff sent casually by many email corespondents is heaven-sent for the purposes of blogging.

Today is Kiss-in Day at Chick-Fil-A. The local media are delighted.
ReplyDelete"Beware of those in whom the urge to punish is strong." - Nietzsche
ReplyDelete...and punish Chick-Fil-A is precisely what the gays want to do.
It's the OPPOSITE of tolerance.
btw - the owner of Chick-fil-A does not seek to punish gays, he only refuses to AFFIRM them.
ReplyDeleteFT..thanks for the response.

At any rate, I hope it was a complete fizzle.
